Abstract

The application of hydrogen enrichment of palm oil-based biodiesel in a compression ignition engine was examined in this work. Synthesized from crude palm oil (CPO), biodiesel was first fed into a single-cylinder diesel engine. The intake manifold received hydrogen gas at flows of 2.5 L/min, 5 L/min, 7.5 L/min, and 10 L/min. Operating at a constant speed of 2,000 rpm, the single-cylinder, direct-injection diesel engine used The aim of this work is to assess the performance and emissions of a diesel engine utilizing hydrogen gas and CPO biodiesel fuels. This work examined engine performance and exhaust emissions using smoke emissions, exhaust temperature, power, thermal efficiency, and fuel economy. Addition of hydrogen improved emissions and performance. Optimal engine performance was achieved by adding 2.5 L/min of hydrogen, which resulted in a 20.12% increase in brake thermal efficiency (BTE) and a 27.57% reduction in fuel consumption compared to biodiesel. The addition of hydrogen gas has a positive impact on exhaust emissions (HC, CO2, and smoke opacity), but has a negative impact on NO emissions. At elevated loads of 2.5 lpm hydrogen flow, emissions measured were 40.00 ppm, 0.04%, 4.20%, and 44.20%, respectively, alongside a 45.72% increase in NO emissions. Including hydrogen gas improves the diesel engines running on biodiesel's performance and exhaust pollutants.

Abstract

The most important asset of an organization is its human resources. A situation where employees have an emotional and intellectual commitment to the organization or have work engagement is a condition that is highly expected by all organizations. This research aims to examine the role of engaging leadership on work engagement, mediated by basic psychological needs. This research involved a total of 140 participants (men= 73; women= 67) who were private employees in the city of Bandung. The average age of male respondents was 36.8 years and female were 33.9 years. In this research, three measuring instruments were used, namely, the utrech work engagement scale, the basic psychological needs satisfaction scale, and the engaging leadership scale. The results of the mediation test showed that the mediation that occurred was partial. This means that engaging leadership shows its role in work engagement, with or without being mediated by the fulfillment of basic psychological needs. These findings provide a scientific contribution to the field of work engagement studies which explains the relationship dynamics of how engaging leadership can make employees more engaged at work. The practical implications of this research can be in the form of company efforts to develop the ability of leaders to provide empowering, connecting, strengthening and inspiring support to their subordinates, to increase the work engagement of their subordinates.

Abstract

Sangiang village is a village located in Mancak District, Serang Regency. It has an area of 293hectares of which 200 hectares are used for agricultural land. About 720 people were employedin the agricultural sector and as many as 55 people were employed as traders. Judging from thedata, it is very supportive to mobilize the community in Sangiang Village, especially MSMEs, andlocal farmers to develop a sustainable economy and motivation in implementing e-commerceplatforms in their marketing. MSME actors in Sangiang village only market their products in thearea. Even so, considering the number of people who visit Sangiang village, such as visitingrelatives or visiting tourist attractions, the customers who place orders have reached outside thearea. Constraints faced by customers who come from outside the region is when placing an order, they must go directly to the store in the village. Furthermore, for local farmers, they haveconducted special training for farmer groups from sub-districts, the government has also helpedto deliver plant seeds to increase the cultivation of plant variations. However, local farmers inSangiang village only process crops raw or simply processed without becoming finished products, this is called unsustainable. From the explanation, the method of implementation carried out inthe service consists of 1) counseling for sustainable economic empowerment in the MSME andagricultural sectors, and 2) motivational counseling to MSME actors related to digitization in themarketing sector. The results of this service have an impact on MSMEs and local farmers asconfirmation of information related to the Sustainable Economy (30% -70%) and motivateMSMEs to encourage the use of e-commerce platforms in the marketing Sector (20% -60%).

Abstract

Climate change has emerged as a new business risk that must be carefully evaluated, forecasted, mitigated and managed by all corporate organizations, including banks. Climate change has a profound effect on finance and business continuity, so all sectors, including the financial industry, must plan for it. In June 2022, the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BAS) announced general principles for banks around the world to manage and supervise climate change risks, entitled “Principles for the Effective Management and Supervision of Climate-Related Financial Risks”. Managing Climate-Related Financial Risks requires an acceptable management structure and information tools that can be used by banks to monitor, measure and manage asset portfolios affected by Climate-Related Financial Risks. In addition, this research also aims to assess the readiness of Indonesian banks in implementing an effective BCBS management framework for climate change-related financial risks. This research utilizes a qualitative research type. The research methodology used in this study is to use in-depth and semi-structured interviews to obtain narratives and subjective reflections from the participants. The main purpose of the interviews was to uncover significant meanings and structures inherent in their professional experiences. By using a sample method involving regulators and selecting banking executives who specialize in risk management. The results of this study provide an explanation of the perspective of Indonesian banks in dealing with business risks due to climate change, OJK's policies related to banking risk management due to climate change, OJK's response to the possibility of adopting an effective management framework for financial risks related to climate change developed by the BCBS in terms of, Bank Indonesia's Perspective on the Integration of Climate Risk into Macro Prudential Supervision, Impact on Financial Stability and Economic Resilience, and Policy Recommendations, and Banks' readiness to implement an effective financial risk management framework for financial risks related to climate change based on the risk management framework developed by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS).

Abstract

In the food processing industry, such as various types of crackers, various fried peanuts and various other packaged foods, the durability and durability of these food products must of course be given great attention. One of the reasons why various foods are not durable and expire quickly is the high oil content contained in these various foods. Manually draining oil is certainly not effective for the production of various foods in large quantities on an industrial scale. For that we need a tool or machine that can drain and reduce the oil content that is still contained in these various foods. The machine used is honey sweet potato chip spinner machine. Tawangmangu Village, Tawangmangu District, Central Java is known as a tourist area which is located on the slopes of Mount Lawu with various kinds of tourist beauty presented. Tourists often come to enjoy the natural beauty of Tawangmangu which is also rich in natural products, one of which is sweet potato honey. However, local residents cannot maximize honey sweet potato as a special food which is used as souvenirs for tourists, so there is a need for an effort to engineer food processing made from honey sweet potato in the form of procurement and training of electric powered honey sweet potato chip spinner machines for Karang Taruna Orpega 02 (Organization Erlangga Youth) in the Tawangmangu Village, Central Java. At the time of implementation, Mitra's enthusiasm was very large to take part in a series of training events for making food slicer spinners. There were 20 members of the youth group who took part in a series of training activities.
