Abstract

ABSTRACT Both overweight and obesity are caused by excess nutrient intake. Feeding practices are one of the mother's efforts to prevent obesity in her toddler by controlling the nutritional intake. Obesity during childhood will increase the risk of persistence into adulthood. Obesity has a negative impact on health such as susceptibility to disease and reducing quality of life.  The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors associated with maternal feeding practices in toddlers based on the Health Belief Model Theory. This study is an analytic study with a cross sectional design. The study subjects were 178 mothers who had overweight toddlers and fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Feeding practices were measured using Semi Quantitative Food Frequency and other variables using a structured questionnaire. The results of the analysis using Chi-Square showed that there was an association between perceived susceptibility (p value = 0.020), perceived benefit (p value = 0.024), self-efficacy (p value = 0.018) and cues to action (p value = 0.014). Meanwhile, perceived severity beliefs, and perceived barrier beliefs were not significantly associated with maternal practices in feeding toddlers. The results of multivariate testing using logistic regression showed that perceived susceptibility was the variable that had the strongest effect on the practice of feeding toddlers with OR = 4.067. It can be concluded that mothers who have low susceptibility beliefs have a 4-fold risk opportunity to carry out feeding practices that risk obesity compared to mothers who have high susceptibility beliefs. Keywords: Childhood Obesity, Feeding Practices, Toddlers, Health Belief Model  ABSTRAK Status gizi lebih baik itu overweight maupun obesitas disebabkan oleh kelebihan asupan nutrisi.

Abstract

Having premarital sexual intercourse has a broad risk impact on health. This is in accordance with the teachings of Islam that should be upheld by all Muslims, with no exception for students living in Islamic boarding schools. To Islamic values and culture, students should have strong self-efficacy to prevent them from engaging in sexual behavior. This study aims to determine the effect of self-efficacy on the sexual behavior of students living in Islamic boarding schools. This cross-sectional study sampled 150 students who lived in Islamic boarding school in Semarang, Indonesia. Students at Islamic boarding schools who had premarital sex were more likely to be found in adolescents aged 19 years (15.2%), male (9.5%), had low self-efficacy (18.2%), and ever accessed pornography (23.1%). Accessing pornography was influenced by sex (p = 0.021, OR = 0.235), while premarital sexual intercourse behavior was influenced by age (p = 0.013, OR = 10.716) and self-efficacy (p = 0.043, OR = 4.602). Younger students with low self-efficacy are more likely to practice premarital sexual intercourse. This study found that accessing pornography had no effect on the practice of sex carried out by students in Islamic boarding schools. The health ministry needs to work with the religious affairs ministry to design programs aimed at increasing self-efficacy among students in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

The Law on Marriage has been amended, but the prevalence of child marriage has not been reduced significantly. Grobogan is one of the areas with the highest prevalence of married and pregnant women at child age (less than 19 years) in Central Java, and is always above the national prevalence. During 2018 the prevalence of cases reached 59.88%, in 2019 it was 51.24%, in 2020 it was 52.81%, in 2021 it was 54.33%, and in 2022 it was 52.15%. Marriage of women at child age becomessocial phenomena that often occur in society. This research is an analytical survey with a cross-sectional design. The research uses a purposive sampling technique, namelyof all women who married at the age of less than 19 years in Grobogan district in the last 5 years (2018-2022), namely 2,676 cases. Data were analyzed to describe trends in cases and motives for marriage between women as children, as well as bivariate analysis using the Chi-square test to analyze the relationship between parents' marital history and children's marriages. The results of the research are that cases of child marriage (less than 19 years old) are more common among girls. Women are the ones who mostly marry under the age of 19. The most common cause (76.8%) underlying applications for marriage dispensation is dating behavior. Based on the pattern of child marriage couples that occurred in the last 5 years in Grobogan district, the most frequent marriages were women aged children (less than 19 years) marrying men aged adults (more than 19 years), namely 82.5%, there were 15.5 % of marriages that occurred between women and men who were both under 19 years of age, there were 1.8% of marriages that occurred between adult women (over 19 years) and men under 19 years of age, and 3 couples (0 .1%) married when both were 19 years old. There is a significant relationship between mothers' marital history and child marriages that occur in their daughters (p value 0.0002). This means that mothers who marry at a young age (less than 19 years) influence the occurrence of child marriage in their daughters.

Abstract

Introduction: Proper nutrition is crucial during the first two years of life, as this period is a "critical window" for promoting optimal growth, health, and behavioral development. Complementary feeding refers to the introduction of additional foods and liquids when breast milk alone no longer meets an infant's nutritional needs. Providing adequate and appropriate complementary foods, along with proper feeding practices, can help prevent stunting and promote healthy eating habits. Objective: This study aimed to identify the factors correlated with complementary feeding practices (i.e., MDD, MMF, MAD, and SSSFs) among children aged 6–23 months in Surakarta City. Method: This cross-sectional study involved 110 mothers with children aged 6-23 months. Data were collected through questionnaires interviewed directly to the respondents. The variables in this study included the child’s age, the mother’s age, parity, maternal education level, maternal employment status, attitude, cultural beliefs, and family support. Complementary feeding practices were assessed using the composite indicators such as MDD, MMF, MAD, SSSFs as recommended by the WHO. Result: This study identified that child's age (0.012 (OR: 3.71, CI: 1.28-10.75)), mother's age (0.001 (OR: 9.35, CI: 2.06-42.37)), parity (0.003 (OR: 4.16, CI: 1.54-11.21)), mother's education (0.018 (OR: 3.06, CI: 1.18-7.90)), attitude (0.028 (OR: 4.93, CI: 1.05-23.0)), cultural belief (0.000 (OR: 9.00, CI: 2.52-32.0)), and family support (0.000 (OR: 5.39, CI: 2.17-13.35)) were determinant factors of complementary feeding practice. There was no statistically significant correlation between the mother’s employment status and complementary feeding practices. Conclusion: It is essential to educate mothers on the correct timing and process of transitioning to complementary feeding. Nutrition education should aim to enhance and correct knowledge and beliefs about these practices. Mothers should receive practical guidance on making informed decisions, considering factors such as affordability, availability, access, and the preparation of nutrient-dense foods

Abstract

To the best of our knowledge, bibliometric analysis has not been performed for studies related to diabetic kidney disease (DKD) and hemodialysis using healthcare big data. Herein, the aim of this bibliometric analysis was to identify emerging research trends in DKD and hemodialysis within healthcare insurance databases by exploring authors, co-author networks, and countries to discover new potential research areas. A bibliometric study was conducted, utilizing data obtained from the Scopus database. Keywords such as diabetic kidney disease, hemodialysis, insurance or big data, and prediction were employed. Inclusion criteria were original articles and review articles written in English published between 2010 and 2022. VOSviewer and the Bibliometrix package in R were used for comprehensive bibliometric analysis. VOSviewer facilitated keyword co-occurrence analysis to identify clusters and visualize relationships among keywords, emphasizing distinct research themes, keyword density, and network visualization. Meanwhile, Bibliometrix allowed exploration of key metrics such as prolific authors and institutions, publication trends, co-authorship networks, citations, document types, emerging trends through keyword analysis, and network visualizations, including co-authorship and keyword co-occurrence. Results from both tools were integrated for a thorough analysis. The present study yielded 2,199 articles, which was reduced to 1,828 after removing duplicates and applying inclusion criteria. This bibliometric analysis found that machine learning and artificial intelligence are emerging yet remain relatively under-researched in the context of hemodialysis and DKD. The prominence of topics such as diabetic nephropathy, non-insulin treatments, and lifestyle modifications highlighted ongoing research priorities in DKD and hemodialysis. Taiwan's dominance in publications suggested robust research activity in this field, while international collaboration underscored global interest and the potential for diverse research perspectives. The need for similar research development in Indonesia, leveraging big data and machine learning, indicates opportunities for advancing the understanding and management of DKD and hemodialysis within the region.
