Abstract

The low student learning outcomes in the Fundamentals of Physics II raise concerns about the quality of the evaluation instrument used to measure the students’ achievement.  This study aims to analyze the quality of the Final Semester Examination (UAS) instrument and its relation with students’ learning outcomes.  The subjects of this study were 53 second-semester students from the Department of Physics, Universitas Negeri Malang.  The evaluation instruments consisted of 30 multiple-choice questions.  The items were analyzed using PSPP statistical software, which functions similarly to SPSS.   The analysis involved validity testing using the Pearson Correlation Method, reliability testing using Cronbach’s Alpha, the discrimination power and difficulty indices. The results showed that 50% of the items were valid, the instrument’s reliability was moderate with a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.60, and only 10% of the items had very good discrimination power, while most (63.4%) were categorized as low to negative. In terms of difficulty, 53.3% of the items were classified as difficult, 20% as moderate, and 26.7% as easy.  These findings indicate that the low student learning outcomes are influenced not only by internal factors but also by the quality of the evaluation instrument.  So, this study not only test the validity and reliability of the test items but also explores how the question construction can affect learning achievements.  This study offers new insights for lecturers to design more accurate instruments that can truly reflect students’ ability, especially in the Fundamentals of Physics II course.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the Libyan chicken breed and its origin, and to evaluate its potential for the development of a new Libyan local chicken breed with high genetic quality and productivity. A qualitative research design has been implemented to carry out this research with a descriptive-analytical approach. Data collection was done by reviewing scholarly literature from scientific journals, academic books, and credible online databases. This research analyzed previous studies to determine patterns that outline the genetic potentials, challenges, and opportunities in breeding programs for enhancing the productivity and resilience of Libyan local chickens. The results showed that the indigenous chicken varieties of Libya, such as Gallus gallus, Baladi or El-Balad, and Hypeco, are essential to the nation's agricultural and culinary traditions. These varieties are hardy and ideal for rural and semi-urban locations with limited access to contemporary farming infrastructure. This study's findings highlight Hypeco's potential as a top contender for the creation of a new breed of locally grown chickens in Libya with superior genetic quality and productivity. In the face of issues with food security, their resilience to intense heat, limited feed supply, and limited water supplies makes them priceless assets. A lack of effective farming methods, contemporary breeding procedures, and the required infrastructure limits these local hens' production and economic viability. These local hens' production and economic viability are limited by a lack of effective farming methods, contemporary breeding procedures, and the required infrastructure. Building infrastructure to assist the regional poultry business should also be a priority. This entails expanding access to veterinary care, storage facilities, water, and high-quality feed.

Abstract

The growth of online-based MSMEs in Indonesia is strengthening along with the increasing adoption of digital technology and the shift in consumer behavior to the online space. In the context of intense competition and high uncertainty of online transactions, brand awareness is a key element in building consumer trust. This study aims to explore the role of brand awareness in building consumer trust in online-based MSMEs through a literature review (library research). Data were collected from scientific journal articles and relevant books accessed online through Google Scholar and various other credible literature sources. The results of the study indicate that brand awareness not only functions as brand recognition but also serves as a gateway for the formation of consumer perceptions of quality, credibility, and a sense of security. Brand awareness contributes to various trust indicators, such as product reliability, brand integrity, transaction security, competence, performance consistency, goodwill, information transparency, reputation, after-sales service, and the quality of brand communication. In the online MSME ecosystem, digital marketing, social media, and marketplaces serve as strategic channels for building awareness and trust simultaneously. This study develops a conceptual model that positions brand awareness as an initial variable that influences the formation of consumer trust through factors such as product quality, reputation, consumer experience, and digital marketing effectiveness. These findings provide implications for online MSMEs to prioritize strengthening brand awareness as a fundamental strategy for building and maintaining consumer trust in a highly competitive digital environment.

Abstract

One of the primary goals of physics education is to achieve a solid conceptual understanding among learners. This conceptual understanding, which enables students to address the challenges they encounter effectively, is conceptual mastery. A higher level of conceptual mastery correlates with an increased capacity for students to tackle everyday problems successfully. This study aims to identify the improvement of students' conceptual mastery through a multi-representation-based recitation program accompanied by feedback and reinforcement questions. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative, carried out on 36 students of the Physics Undergraduate Study Program. The recitation program is multi-representational and multi-context-based, which contains reinforcement questions and feedback used by students outside of lecture hours to help master the concepts obtained in class. The results showed the mastery of concepts of momentum and impulse students increased, indicated by the transition of student's answers and the average of students from 30.8 to 52.8. The increase in students' mastery of concepts is shown in questions in the context of determining impulses in related problems and the conservation of momentum in related problems. The multi-representation and multi-context presented in the recitation program and pretest and posttest questions affect students' mastery of concepts in solving problems.

Abstract

This study investigates the correlation between representation competence and conceptual understanding of linear motion kinematics, by representation type and gender, among undergraduate students. A quantitative survey design was conducted with 228 students (136 male and 92 female) who had completed a basic physics course. Data were collected using seven validated essay items adapted from the Test of Understanding Graphics in Kinematics (TUG-K2) to measure students' representational competence and conceptual understanding across graphical, diagrammatic, and verbal representations. Descriptive statistics, Kruskal-Wallis test, Wilcoxon test, and Pearson correlation analysis were used. Results showed that students' representation competence was generally moderate (mean=1.130) and differed significantly across representation types, while their conceptual understanding was relatively low (mean=0.419) and varied significantly across kinematics concepts. Although female students showed slightly higher average representation competence scores, no statistically significant gender differences were found in either representation competence or conceptual understanding. A strong positive correlation was identified between representation competence and conceptual understanding, indicating a close association between the two constructs. However, the correlational design does not allow causal conclusions to be drawn. These findings highlight the importance of explicitly integrating various representations into physics teaching to support deeper conceptual understanding in linear motion kinematics
