Abstract

Background : Stunting is identified by comparing measurements of childrent’s heights to the NCHS WHO2005growth reference population : children who fall potential as a result of suboptimal health and/or nutritionalconditions. Stunting prevalence in Indonesia still high level, this indicated health problem because associatedwith increase in morbidity and mortality, low cognitive capability and improper physical function.The purpose inthis study was to determine many environmental factors and behaviour associated with incidence of stunting.Methods : It was an observational research with case-control study design.Subject were divided into two groups: case and control groups in Elementary School student class 4 and 5 with 37 subject in case group and 53 subjectin the control group. Variables examined in this study was a history of exposure to pesticides, history of cigarettesmoke exposure, mosquito smoke exposure history, a history of using plastic as a place to store food is still hot,urinaryexcretioniodine (UEI), levels of urinary thyocyanate, anemia, TSH levels, Cholinesterase levels and BodyMass Index.Data was collected by interviewing, observation and measurement. Data would be analyzed using independent t–test or Mann Withney), bivariate analisys using Chi-Square and multivariate analysis using logistic regression.Result :This study indicated that the incidence of stunting was 37 %; 56,8% of them had history of pesticidesexposure. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that the risk factor of stunting in student is a history ofpesticides exposure with Odds Ratio (OR) 2,625. The result of logistic regression test showed there was asignificant association between the incidence of stunting with a history of pesticide exposure(OR 2,39).Conclusion :The history of pesticides exposure was the risk factor for stunting.Key words : Environmental and behaviour factors, stuting, elementary student, agriculture areas.

Abstract

Bacground: Air pollution is a serious matter which can damage environments also human health. In Indonesia,Lead (Pb) has huge potential to harm and to damage environments on industrial area. The inserted of lead intohuman bodies especially by inhaling of lead´s dust through respiratory tract, most of the Lead will bounded in redblood cells, than the rest of it will be accumalated in bone marrow and soft tissues and would bring impact ofdisturbances of haematopoesis, cardiovascular, renal, nervous, gastrointestinal, and reproductive systems andalso carcinogenic. This study aimed to find out the degree of exposure to Lead and its effect haematologic systemmainly leukocyte count, platelet count and activity of Superoxide Dismutase (SOD).Methods: It was an observational research using cross sectional design. The subject of research was 41 workers.Blod Lead Level (BLL)l as independent variable was examined using AAS. Dependen variable of this research wasblood profile consist of Lekosit, Trombosit, dan Activity of Superoxide Dismutase (SOD). Data would be analyzedusing Kendall Tau correlation.Result: Blood lead level (BLL) wasmeasured using AAS examination of 41 workers found on average 27.069 μg/dl, Permmision Exposure Limit 0.6 μg/dl – 108.3 μg/dl exceed the limit of Centre for Disease Controle andPrevention (CDC=10 μg/dl). Examination of leukocyte count results p 0.034 (p<0.05), average 7256,9/mm³,range 3800–12700/mm³, while platelet count p 0.857 (p>0.05), average 277634.2/mm³, range 143000–391000/mm³, and SOD activity p 0.220 (p>0.05), average 82.304 U/ml, range 72.11-95.92 U/ml still normal.Conclusion: The level of BLL on workers had been over treshhold limit value (TLV)and It had significantlycorrelation with the level of leucocite (p-value < 0.05)Recommendation: Medical and preventive action are needed to restore and prevented worsening effect on healthby administering medication, routin check-up, natural chelating agent and supplement and healthly environmentprograms applied.Key words: Blood Lead Level (BLL), leukocyte count, platelet count, Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) activity.

Abstract

Background : Thousands of farmers and farm workers were poisoned by pesticides each year. Risk of exposure topesticides in agriculture as well as to women who are involved in agricultural activities, one of them washypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism in the group of women of childbearing age (WCA) can cause reproductivedisorders such as infertility, spontaneous abortion, fetal growth disorders, and premature birth. The researchobjective was to prove that exposure to pesticides is a risk factor for hypothyroidism on WCA in highlandagricultural area Gombong village, Belik subdistrict Pemalang regency.Methods : Cross-sectional study on 34 subjects research at highland agricultural Gombong District Pemalang Regency.Samples were taken by using a systematic Sampling method. Pesticide exposure was measured by asking WCA’s(17-35 years) involved in agricultural activities using structured questionnaire and by checking their level ofcholinesterase. Incidence of hypothyroidism measured using TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) rate parameter.Confounding variables were also measured. These variables were level of education, BMI, participation in hormonalcontraception, iodine intake, and exposure to cigarette smoke. Data would be analyzed using Chi-Square test at 0,05level of significancy.Result : The prevalence of hypothyroidism among WCA was 2.,4 %.. Pesticide exposure is a risk factor forhypothyroidism; PR 95 % CI = 4.278 ( 1.347-13.581) and p-value=0.015. The higher the degree of exposure, the greaterthe risk of having hypothyroidism. The results showed that there was no correlation between age, level of education,BMI, participation in hormonal contraception, iodine intake, and exposure to cigarette smoke with hypothyroidismon childbearing age woman in highland agricultural area Gombong village, Belik subdistrict Pemalang regency.Conclusion: Pesticide exposure is a risk factor for thyroid dysfunction among WCA in agricultural areas. Keywords: Pesticide exposure, thyroid dysfunction, hypothyroidism.

Abstract

Background: Exposure to lead (Pb) with low levels over a prolonged period will cause health effects such ashypertension, anemia, decreased ability to inhibit the formation of the brain and red blood. If this is not resolvedsoon, disorder may result in disruption to the body’s various organ systems such as the nervous system, kidneys,reproductive system, gastrointestinal tract and anemia.This research aimed to know the association between leadexposure with albumin level and anemia.Methods: Cross-sectional study on 45 subjects research at Small Industry Village (PIK) Kebasen Talang DistrictTegal regency. Pb levels in the blood as biomaker of exposure to decreased levels of albumin and anemia.Result: There were 6 subjects who had BLL over the threshold with mean and standart deviation of 26.8 + 18.85ug/dl.They (33 sub) also had a haemoglobine level over the threshold with the mean of 14.3 + 1.10 gr %. Therewere 31 subjects with level of albumine over the threshold with the mean of 5.7+ 1.39. There was a relationshipbetween blood lead level and albumin level (p value = 0.048), with a correlation coefficient (rho) = -0.205.Conclusion: People who are working with very risky Pb exposure increased levels of albumin in the blood.Key words: Lead exposure, level of Albumin and Hemoglobin.

Abstract

Based on the results of the research, data was obtained that (a) Head Raudlatul Athfal's understanding of the competence of RA An-Najah Teachers, namely the head of RA An-Najah had understood the qualifications and competencies of RA An-Najah Teachers. Where the academic qualifications of Teacher RA An-Najah have an undergraduate background. Teachers have also met all teacher competency standards, namely pedagogical competence, professional competence, personality competence, and social competence. (b) Head Raudlatul Athfal's strategy to improve the competence of RA An-Najah Teachers, namely by involving teachers in training, training and seminars; involve teachers in KKG; motivating Teachers; carry out Supervision; complete the Facilities and Infrastructure; enrich digital knowledge; apply the PAKEM method; developing a learning curriculum; and hold a meeting. (c) Supporting factors for Head Raudlatul Athfal to improve teacher competency at RA An-Najah, namely: (1) Environment, (2) Teachers are members of IGRA, (3) Teachers are certified, (4) Teachers have a great willingness to learn , (5) Cooperation, and (6) Adequate facilities and infrastructure. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factor for the Head of Raudlatul Athfal to improve teacher competence at RA An-Najah is the lack of willingness and opportunity for teachers to participate and attend coaching in improving teacher competence.

Abstract

Bekasi City Christian Communication Forum, is a forum for Christians across churches, where this forum is a forum for communication between interfaith and churches in Bekasi, such as from HKBP, GPIB, Bethel, Catholicism, this forum is a center for establishing communication between church residents who experience problems and threats related to intolerance that is rampant, especially in the Bekasi City area. The existence of a Christian education or education that breathes Christian beliefs is very beneficial. Religion began to become a part of the culture of every people. The role of the church, apart from being a message of the gospel to the unsaved, is also very important in building the spiritual life of its congregation in order to grow into a spiritually mature congregation. The objectives of this study are: 1). To find out and analyze the extent of the role of community service through the FKK Christian organization in Bekasi City. 2). To find out and analyze the problems faced, especially by the FKK Christian organization in Bekasi City. In this study, this type of research is descriptive qualitative research, that is, the data collected is in the form of words, pictures, not numbers. The purpose of descriptive research is to make a systematic, factual, and accurate description of the facts and nature of a particular population or area. The results in this study can be concluded that Religion must be a social glue, which plays a role in bridging tensions, maintaining the survival of society when faced with life challenges. In this case, religion plays a role in uniting members of society in the midst of existing plurality. Religion should promote a high sense of tolerance and love, not excessive fanaticism that thinks what we have is good and what else is bad.

Abstract

Communication space in social life is increasingly limited because we rarely see other people, and everyone will become individualist and less socially sensitive. There needs to be strengthening through sociodrama-based PPKn learning on diversity material to strengthen the sense of unity and unity between.. The purpose of this Classroom Action Research (PTK) is to improve learning outcomes on Indonesian diversity material with the sociodrama method of grade VII-E students in the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year at SMP Negeri 40 Surabaya. The subject of research is students. Data collection using test and non-test techniques. The data analysis technique uses qualitative data analysis and quantitative data analysis. The results showed that there was an increase in learning outcomes on average 59.5 in the first cycle to 77.3 in the second cycle. For the highest value of 79 in the first cycle to 90 in the second cycle. As well as the value in the first cycle 30 in the first cycle to 62 in the second cycle. The sociodrama method can improve PPKn learning outcomes in Indonesian diversity material for grade VII-E students in the 2022/2023 academic year at SMP Negeri 40 Surabaya.

Abstract

This study aimed to enhance the mathematics learning interest of 10th-grade students at SMA Negeri 21 Surabaya through the implementation of peer tutoring with a Problem-Based Learning model in statistics. The background of this research is the low learning interest of students, particularly in mathematics. This study employs a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, consisting of two cycles. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and tests. The results of the study showed that the application of peer tutoring in the Problem-Based Learning model can improve the learning interest and critical thinking skills of 10th-grade students at SMA Negeri 21 Surabaya in statistics. This can be seen from the improvement in observation results, interviews, and test scores. Students' learning activities and critical thinking skills increased with a higher average percentage in the second cycle compared to the first cycle. The peer tutoring method with the Problem-Based Learning model enables students to learn from and help each other, thus increasing their motivation and engagement in learning. Additionally, this method helps students develop their interpersonal and communication skills.

Abstract

The research was carried out on the problem of the ability to understand mathematical material in the students of classes VII-H of the State 3 Surabaya High School. There are students who have the ability to understand material low, medium, and high. There are also students' learning needs that are not fulfilled so that they affect the learning outcomes of students. The aim of this study is to improve the learning outcomes of students through differential learning. The research uses the Class Action Research (PTK) method with a quantitative approach and data collection techniques using the results of individual student tasks. The results of the study using differential learning showed that the increased learning outcomes seen from pre-cycle activities were 18% up to 41% in the first cycle, then in the second cycle showed an increase with a percentage of 82%. From these results it can be concluded that the research using the differentiation learning was successful in improving the learning outcome of students of classes VII-H of the 3rd State Sub-secondary School of Surabaya at the point of mathematics lessons Data Presentation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the state of political literacy of the Keboansikepl community, as well as to understand the role of the KPU in the context of the state of political literacy. This study uses a qualitative-descriptive approach, to reveal phenomena related to political literacy based on the results of research documents conducted by the Sidoarjo Regency KPU. as well as information from informants from the KPU of East Java Province. The results of the study conclude that the state of political literacy in the Keboansikep community is still very limited only to literacy related to the electoral process and does not reflect education that is oriented towards strengthening the system of understanding and actualizing the rights and obligations of citizens. The new political education is carried out by the KPU through socialization activities, technical guidance (technical guidance) and voter education which it will carry out in the context of the agenda for the stages of the election that will be held as election organizers. The state does not yet have an educational program to improve systemic and sustainable political literacy. The disappointment of the voting community towards the attitude and performance of the leaders and representatives of the people from the general election results in an anomalous phenomenon where the public is known to have knowledge and understanding of politics but it is not consistent with their attitudes and behavior. In political education, the KPU plays a role in conveying information about the election events it holds and providing political education to the public which is only limited to the electoral context for the sake of increasing the percentage of voters turned out and decreasing the percentage of invalid votes
