Abstract

One of the important aspects of the digital transformation agenda of Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) in Indonesia is the Digital Identity Card (Identitas Kependudukan Digital/IKD). The distribution of its use is uneven because the urban areas are more digitally literate and the problem of personal data security remains although its use is slowly increasing in the urban areas. The research is based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), and omission of the Perceived Usefulness as the mandatory and standardized usefulness of IKD, the study examines the effect of digital literacy and perception of data security on the behavioral intention of citizens to use IKD and how the perceived ease of use may mediate the relationship. A cross-sectional survey of 83 registered IKD users in DKI Jakarta, West Java and Banten was used as the data collection method and analyzed by PLS-SEM using SmartPLS 4. The common method bias was assessed by application of the single factor test and the marker-variable analysis and was found to be value of VIF which indicated no multicollinearity, SRMR = 0.071 was acceptably raised. A post-hoc power analysis provided further support of a sufficient statistical power (0.88). The results indicate that perception of data security is the most powerful predictor of the perceived ease of use (β = 0.550, p < 0.001, f² = 0.546) and behavioral intention (β = 0.351, p = 0.006). Moreover, the data security perception and behavioral intention are significantly (indirect = 0.177, p = 0.032), mediated by the perceived ease of use, but not by the digital literacy, which demonstrates a negative pattern of mediation, suggesting that the mediating process postulated by TAM is not equally effective between different antecedents. The implications of the findings on user experience design, data governance visibility, and the digital literacy policy in Indonesia and other developing economies which are undergoing digital transformation of the public services are enormous.

Abstract

The study attempts to explore the factors affecting investment decisions amongst Generation Z and Millennials in the fast-evolving digital financial environment. Particularly, the study aims at determining the effects of education levels and financial knowledge on investment decision-making processes as well as the possibility of financial literacy acting as a mediator. An explanatory quantitative research design was employed in this investigation in order to collect information from a target group of young people who invested their funds using Structural Equation Modeling in SmartPLS. The findings demonstrate that education level does not have any effect on investment decision-making but it enhances financial literacy. In addition, although financial knowledge has a significant effect on making investment decisions, it is not associated with financial literacy. Importantly, the results indicate that financial literacy is the strongest predictor of investments as well as the best full mediator of the education-investment relationship. This finding provides a practical perspective for financial organizations as well as designers of digital platforms aiming at enhancing youth market penetration by constructing a proper educational structure instead of just imparting information.

Abstract

The shift towards a digitally driven economy has transformed the way new ventures emerge and prompted universities to incorporate digital skills into their curriculum to prepare students for innovation. In this context the research focuses on the positive roles of entrepreneurship education and digital literacy in terms of innovation, as well as on the potential role of motivation as a mediatorship. Exploratory quantitative research approach was used; Data was collected using a 26 item questionnaire scored on a 5 point likert scale. The samples used was purposive with 50 students of Master of Management at Jakarta State University as the respondents. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS SEM) of the SmartPLS software was used in processing the responses. The results indicate that digital literacy has a positive and significant effect on motivation (β = 0.291) and innovation (β = 0.442), while motivation also has a positive and significant effect on innovation (β = 0.501). In contrast, entrepreneurship education had a positive but insignificant effect on motivation (β = 0.387) and a small, insignificant negative effect on innovation (β = −0.100). Mediation testing revealed that motivation partially mediated the effect of digital literacy on innovation, but did not mediate the effect of entrepreneurship education on innovation. While the sample size was limited, the results suggest that digital literacy, rather than theory based entrepreneurship education, was the stronger driving force behind innovation in this reinforcing group, exerting its influence both independently and by reinforcing motivation.

Abstract

The high turnover rate among young employees has become a strategic challenge for many organizations. This study examines the effects of transformational leadership and perceived organizational support on employee retention among Generation Z and Millennial employees, with job satisfaction as a mediating variable. The study employed a post-positivist quantitative-causal paradigm, with data collected from 150 respondents across public sector (ASN), private, and state-owned enterprise (BUMN) sectors in Jabodetabek using a five-point Likert scale instrument, and analyzed through PLS-SEM (SmartPLS 4). The findings reveal that: (1) transformational leadership has a significant positive effect on job satisfaction (β=0.551) and employee retention (β=0.396); (2) perceived organizational support positively affects job satisfaction (β=0.300) and employee retention (β=0.168); (3) job satisfaction positively affects employee retention (β=0.241); and (4) job satisfaction partially mediates the effects of transformational leadership (β=0.133; p=0.012) and perceived organizational support (β=0.072; p=0.041) on employee retention. These findings reinforce the integrative relevance of Social Exchange Theory, Self-Determination Theory, and Organizational Support Theory. Practically, organizations are recommended to strengthen transformational leadership competencies and design systematic organizational support programs as effective retention strategies for talented young employees.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of digital leadership and perceived organizational support on job performance, with work engagement as a mediating variable. The main issue addressed in this study is the need for public, state-owned, and private organizations to improve employee performance in an increasingly digital work environment. This research used a quantitative approach with an explanatory design. Data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire using a Likert scale and involved 168 respondents. The data were analyzed using PLS-SEM with SmartPLS software. The results show that digital leadership has a positive and significant effect on work engagement and job performance. Perceived organizational support has a positive and significant effect on work engagement, but it does not have a significant direct effect on job performance. Work engagement has a positive and significant effect on job performance. The findings also show that work engagement partially mediates the effect of digital leadership on job performance and fully mediates the effect of perceived organizational support on job performance. The R-square values indicate that the model explains 53.7% of the variance in work engagement and 64.2% of the variance in job performance. These findings suggest that improving employee performance requires not only digital leadership and organizational support, but also stronger work engagement. Practically, organizations need to strengthen digital leadership capabilities, improve organizational support, and create a work environment that encourages employee energy, dedication, and focus.
