Abstract

For students, low self-esteem is a psychological issue that impacts their academic, emotional, and social development. Research has found that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the most widely used counseling methods to address this issue. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in improving students’ self-esteem and to identify the factors contributing to its success. This research employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method using a structured approach that includes the identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion stages. This procedure was used to systematically identify, select, and analyze 1,087 articles indexed in Sinta and Scopus published between 2016 and 2025. The results indicate that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is effective in enhancing students’ self-esteem through cognitive restructuring and anxiety reduction, supported by individual and group interventions as well as enabling factors such as counselor competence and student engagement. These findings suggest that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can be used by school counselors and guidance counselors as an effective intervention to improve students’ self-esteem. Furthermore, this study encourages the development of a more systematic, adaptive, and technology-integrated implementation of CBT in future counseling services.

Abstract

Three-dimensional learning media are increasingly being used in early childhood education due to their ability to provide concrete and multisensory learning experiences. From an Islamic educational perspective, the use of these media not only contributes to cognitive development but also has the potential to integrate spiritual values into the learning process. This study aims to analyze the characteristics and synthesize findings regarding the use of three-dimensional learning media in stimulating the fine motor and cognitive development of early childhood from an Islamic educational perspective. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of 170 articles published between 2020 and 2025, employing thematic analysis. This study employed a Systematic Literature Review method by identifying 1,097 articles from Scopus and Sinta spanning the years 2020–2025 through a structured selection process, resulting in 15 articles that were analyzed using a thematic approach. The research findings indicate that three-dimensional learning media promote multisensory learning experiences that enhance children’s active exploration, hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and logical thinking skills. Furthermore, the use of these media supports the integration of Islamic values through reflective and contemplative learning. Overall, three-dimensional media contribute to a holistic learning approach that integrates children’s physical, cognitive, and spiritual development. This study offers practical implications for early childhood educators and parents in designing three-dimensional media-based learning activities integrated with Islamic values, and points the way toward the development of more innovative and holistic learning models.

Abstract

Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning in elementary schools plays a crucial role in helping students understand natural and social phenomena in an integrated manner. However, the implementation of IPAS learning still tends to be textual and textbook-centered, with limited connections to students’ real-life experiences, thereby failing to support deep learning fully. This study aims to analyze the forms of contextualization of IPAS materials, examine their implications for deep learning, and identify obstacles to their implementation in elementary schools. The research employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method using the PRISMA approach to analyze articles published between 2021 and 2025. A total of 1,301 articles were initially identified from the Google Scholar, Scopus, and Crossref databases using the Publish or Perish application, of which 14 relevant articles were selected based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The findings indicate that the contextualization of IPAS materials is implemented through several approaches, including the use of visual and interactive media, environment-based and experiential learning, problem-based and inquiry-based approaches, the integration of local potential, interdisciplinary learning, and multimodal representation. These approaches contribute to improving students’ motivation to learn, conceptual understanding, critical thinking skills, learning autonomy, and metacognitive awareness, which are key indicators of deep learning. However, challenges remain, particularly related to limited teacher pedagogical competence, insufficient contextual learning media, and structural constraints within the education system. Therefore, strengthening teacher competence, developing contextual learning designs, and enhancing institutional support are essential to promote meaningful and sustainable IPAS learning in elementary education.
