Abstract

Human resource competence (HR) is needed in the Husein Family clinic as a clinic that provides health services to the community. Patients will feel happy when they want health services and know that in a clinic there are medical personnel who have reliable human resource competencies. Then the quality of service will provide satisfaction to patients who come to the Husein Family clinic so that patients will come to visit again to get health services at the Husein Family Clinic. This study aims to see the effect of human resource competence and service quality on patient satisfaction. As the population in this study were patients who came for treatment at the Husein Family Clinic as many as 60 patients who were collected by random sampling per day as many as 2 people for a month. The results of the study explained that human resource competence had an effect on patient satisfaction by 15.5%, service quality had an effect on patient satisfaction by 24.4% and human resource competence and service quality had a joint effect on patient satisfaction at the Husein Family Clinic by 22.4%.

Abstract

Nosocomial infection is an infection originating from a hospital caused by hospital staff or health workers during the health service process or hospital visitors. The background of this research is the lack of role of nurses in the process of preventing nosocomial infections. The purpose of this study was to explain the role of nurses in preventing nosocomial infections at RSU Royal Prima. This type of research uses a qualitative approach method with in-depth interviews with informants in order to know clearly and in depth the role of nurses in preventing nosocomial infections at RSU Royal Prima. The results showed that nurses already know their role in terms of reporting to the doctor if there are signs and symptoms of infection and implementing isolation of infectious diseases and maintaining prevention while on duty at the hospital. However, there are still nurses who do not know their role optimally in terms of maintaining hospital cleanliness. In maintaining hand hygiene, nurses only know their role in terms of washing hands, the implementation is not in accordance with procedures. In using Personal Protective Equipment, nurses know their role in terms of wearing masks and gloves, but in practice there are still nurses who have not used Personal Protective Equipment according to standards. In addition, there are obstacles for nurses in preventing nosocomial infections such as inadequate infrastructure

Abstract

Occupational health and safety in hospitals is influenced by Occupational Safety and Health Management System or what is often called SMK3 which functions to regulate occupational safety and health in an industry or building. This research aims to analyze the relationship between inhibiting factors and the implementation of the occupational health and safety management system at the Royal Prima Medan Hospital. This research is an analytical survey research using a cross sectional study design carried out in June 2023. The sample in this research is all medical personnel who work in Royal Prima Medan Hospital, namely 121 people. The sample size is determined using the total population formula. Data were analyzed using the chi square test and logistic regression. The research results show that there is a relationship between HR quality, HR workload, HR work environment, wage levels and the rate of addition of new workers with the implementation of the occupational safety and health management system at the Royal Prima Medan Hospital. The most dominant variable related to the implementation of the occupational safety and health management system at the Royal Prima Medan Hospital is the wage level. It is recommended to the hospital that the results of this research can be used as input to improve and develop the level of occupational health and safety, especially for hospital workers, which can also indirectly improve the quality of service and work productivity of the hospital

Abstract

Wounds disrupt anatomical and skin functions. Thus, proper treatment and healing are needed. Saponins, tannins, and flavonoids in natural medicinal extracts accelerate wound healing. Plants and natural substances are usually employed in topical therapy. This study tested the efficacy of ethanol extract cream from the avocado pulp (Persea americana Mill.) in treating dermapen-induced lesions on white rats (Rattus norvegicus) Wistar strain. This is a lab study or an experiment. Mouse samples were divided into four treatment groups of five mice each. This study also found that avocado flesh extract (Persea americana Mill.) significantly improved dermapen scar healing compared to base cream. The treatment groups given avocado pulp extract (Persea americana Mill.) exhibited higher healing percentages than the control group: 60.5, 95.7, 97.3, and 100%. Researchers found that 15% avocado flesh extract cream (Persea americana Mill.) healed dermapen scars best. This study found that avocado flesh extract cream (Persea americana Mill.) accelerates skin regeneration and increases fibroblasts more than base creams. The highest and densest number of fibroblast cells was found in treatment group 3 healing wounds. Fibroblasts indicate active dermapen wound healing.

Abstract

Exposure to sunlight (UV radiation) can harm the skin, leading to cancer and tissue damage. The body’s natural defense involves activating hormones that stimulate melanin synthesis to reduce cellular damage. Moringa oleifera Lam. leaves, rich in flavonoids and phenolic compounds, are promising UV-protection agents. This study assessed the efficacy of nanoemulgel formulations containing M. oleifera leaf extract through in vitro and in vivo assays. Twenty-five rats were divided into five groups, including formulations with 2%, 3%, and 4% M. oleifera extract, a negative control, and a positive control with Azarine Sunscreen Gel SPF 45. The nanoemulsions had appropriate size and quality, with the highest SPF observed at 4% concentration (7.95±0.06). According to FDA classification, these formulations fall within the 'extra' SPF category (6<SPF<8). However, melanin scores in the nanoemulgel groups were comparable to the untreated control, and the 4% concentration (44.4±16.3) did not match the protection provided by commercial sunscreen (10.0±1.58). These findings suggest M. oleifera has potential for photoprotection, but further optimization is needed.

Abstract

The cep-cepan plant (Castanopsis costata) from the Fagaceae family is traditionally used by the Karo community in Medan, North Sumatra, to treat diabetes mellitus, although its efficacy has not yet been scientifically proven. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the antidiabetic activity of cep-cepan leaf extract nanoparticles (Castanopsis costata) in a streptozotocin-induced white rat model. A total of 25 male white rats were divided into five treatment groups: a positive control group, a negative control group, and three experimental groups treated with extract concentrations of 25, 75, and 150 mg/kg body weight, respectively. Plasma glucose levels were measured every 72 hours for 15 days using blood samples taken from the tail. Pancreatic tissue was then examined, and the data were analyzed using one way anova. The findings showed significant antidiabetic activity in all treatment groups, with p < 0.001. The nanoparticle extract of cep-cepan leaves exhibited the highest antidiabetic potential at a dosage of 150 mg/kg, reducing blood glucose levels by 59.39%. These results suggest that the nanoparticle extract of cep-cepan leaves demonstrates antidiabetic activity in the streptozotocin-induced white rat model, and it has the potential to be developed as an alternative treatment for diabetes mellitus.
