Abstract

Implementation of assessment is an important part of the learning process related to the achievement of student learning outcomes. A good assessment method can make a positive contribution to the teaching and learning process and will have an impact on student learning outcomes. However, student learning outcomes cannot only be measured by grades through written tests, so that the quality of learning can develop better, a portfolio assessment is needed. which is part of the classroom assessment currently being developed. By applying an alternative assessment, one of which is a portfolio assessment of students, can collect evidence of actual student progress that can be used as material for consideration to improve the learning process further. Besides Therefore, assessments like this are felt to be fairer and more transparent for students and can increase student motivation to be actively involved in the learning process.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out whether learning science in the experimental class was different from learning science in the control class. Control Group Design Not Equivalent to Quasi Experimental Design is the research methodology used. A procedure called sampling makes use of multiple samples. The population of this research is 70 students of class IV. 35 students from class IV B became the control group, while 35 students from class IV C became the experimental group. Data collection techniques include tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. It can be concluded from the posttest findings that tangible learning materials have an impact on science learning outcomes for fourth grade students at SDN Bencongan 6 based on statistical analysis using the t-test at a significance level = 0.05% obtained tcount (4.10) > ttable (1.99).

Abstract

Nurul Dwi Hidayati "The Influence of the Problem Based Learning Learning Model on the Understanding of Science Concepts in Class 4 SD Negeri Doyong 4 Tangerang City". This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning learning model on students who use conventional methods. This study used a quasi-experimental design with nonequivalent control group design. The population subjects in this study were all fourth grade students at SD Negeri Doyong 4 Kota Tangerang totaling 56. The sample used was saturated sampling, namely class IV A, totaling 24 students as the control class and IV B, totaling 28 students as the experimental class. The data collection technique uses an instrument to test the ability to understand concepts in the form of an essay consisting of 10 questions that are valid and reliable. Based on the initial analysis, the initial abilities of the two classes have the same abilities. While the results of the study showed that the average posttest value for the control class was 27.85 while in the experimental class it was 40.83. This is based on the t-test showing the value of tcount = 5.205 and ttable 2009. It can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the average posttest scores. control class and experimental class. This can be interpreted that the ability to understand science concepts using the Problem Based Learning learning model is higher than using conventional learning methods.

Abstract

Assessment in the context of learning has an important role in influencing student motivation and engagement. Effective assessment can have a significant positive impact on student's motivation to learn and their level of engagement in the learning process. Through formative assessments that provide constructive and informative feedback, students can correct their shortcomings and see their progress first-hand, which directly influences their motivation to continuously strive to improve achievement. Assessments that reward and recognize students' achievements can also increase their motivation. In addition, assessments that actively involve students in the assessment process, such as project- or portfolio-based assessments, and assessments that encourage social interaction, can increase student engagement. However, it is important to ensure that effective assessment is fair, objective, and differentiated so that each student gets feedback that is relevant to their needs and level of development. In conclusion, effective assessment should be viewed as a learning tool that encourages student motivation and engagement in the learning process.

Abstract

Needs Analysis is a method used to identify the needs needed by students so that educators are able to meet these needs. Through the right steps, problems that cover the thematic learning will be resolved. This study aims to determine the needs of educators and students, especially elementary schools in thematic learning. This is a survey research using descriptive methods to collect data. The results showed that students' needs related to learning methods and media were very much needed, if a teacher did not pay attention to the needs of students in learning, students would feel bored and have no clear learning goals, so that teaching and learning activities were not optimal. With this research, it is hoped that teachers will be able to analyze learning needs before teaching and learning activities are held, this is to minimize the occurrence of problems in learning elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the pattern of reading development that occurs in students. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method. After making observations, interviews were then conducted with resource persons who understood how the teaching and learning process was and how students' abilities were in terms of understanding a reading. The thematic method is one form of innovation in the field of education that familiarizes students to think critically and accustoms teachers to have a high focus and always improve their abilities. From the results of research conducted, there were various student responses when retelling what they had read in front of the class. Students who have difficulty controlling their emotions will definitely have difficulty in retelling what they have read and there will be many words that are difficult to miss, and students who are too confident in themselves also tend to have difficulty controlling their existing emotions. They will be more active in telling stories but the essence of the story is not conveyed properly and eventually makes the audience bored. Small things like this will become habits that greatly affect the growth and development of students in the future. Character must be formed from an early age so that students have good and polite communication skills.
