Abstract

This study investigates students’ responses and learning outcomes in STEM education through a Project Based Learning (PjBL) approach focused on natural disaster simulations in fifth-grade elementary students. Although a digital STEM based disaster learning model has been shown to significantly improve elementary students’ disaster adaption abilities through quasi experimental research, existing studies generally emphasize digital simulations rather than real context thematic project experiences in primary schools. Therefore, the novelty of this research lies in the integration of STEM and PjBL within thematic learning for disaster context education, addressing a gap in studies at the elementary level, particulary in Indonesia. This descriptive quantitative study involved 15 students and employed learning outcome assessments and student response questionnaires. Results revealed that all students achieved mastery learning with an average score of 94.73. Student responses were highly positive, with an average questionnaire score of 3.80 out of 4, indicating strong engagement and improved conceptual understanding during the disaster simulation project. The integrated STEM-based PjBL approach fostered active student involvement, collaboration, and critical thinking skills. These findings demonstrate the effectiveness of this model in enhancing elementary science learning quality and provide a promising approach for thematic, student centered instruction in disaster education contexts.

Abstract

Stroke is the second leading cause of death and the third leading cause of disability worldwide . Lack of understanding and information received by families, as well as minimal involvement during patient care, can lead to unpreparedness in caring for patients. Discharge planning is an important process in ensuring a safe transition of care from hospital to home, especially for elderly stroke patients. Family readiness to care for elderly stroke at home is greatly influenced by the effectiveness of discharge planning . Objective: This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of discharge planning on family readiness to care for elderly stroke. Method: Five databases through article searches adjusted to the PICO question formulation consisting of ScienceDirect, ProQuest, Googlescholer, Sage Journals, and Taylor and Franchise from 2019-2024. The keywords used are Stroke in Elderly, older, Older adult, Cerebral Infarction AND Discharge Planning AND family readiness, , family satisfaction.The number of articles found was 1,335, and after screening, 5 articles were analyzed. Results: There were five selected articles. Based on the results of the analysis, comprehensive discharge planning, involving education, training, and psychosocial support, has been shown to increase family readiness to care for elderly stroke at home. With a Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT ) and quasi-experimental design . Conclusion: Effective discharge planning can increase family readiness and satisfaction in caring for elderly stroke at home.

Abstract

Kepuasan kerja pegawai merupakan faktor penting dalam menjamin kualitas pelayanan kesehatan, khususnya di fasilitas layanan primer seperti Puskesmas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh motivasi kerja, beban kerja, dan fasilitas kerja terhadap kepuasan kerja pegawai di Puskesmas Baranti Kabupaten Sidenreng Rappang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei, melibatkan 92 responden yang dipilih melalui teknik proportional random sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner dan dianalisis melalui regresi linear berganda dengan bantuan SPSS versi 25. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga variabel independen berpengaruh signifikan secara simultan maupun parsial terhadap kepuasan kerja. Nilai F-hitung sebesar 26,915 dengan signifikansi 0,000 menunjukkan bahwa model regresi signifikan. Nilai koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0,489 menunjukkan bahwa 48,9% variasi kepuasan kerja dapat dijelaskan oleh motivasi kerja, beban kerja, dan fasilitas kerja, sementara sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain. Motivasi kerja memiliki pengaruh paling dominan terhadap kepuasan kerja pegawai. Temuan ini mengindikasikan pentingnya strategi peningkatan motivasi dan perbaikan lingkungan kerja dalam rangka meningkatkan kualitas layanan kesehatan.

Abstract

Kepuasan pasien merupakan indikator penting dalam menilai kualitas pelayanan kesehatan. Di Indonesia, tingkat kepuasan pasien masih tergolong rendah, termasuk di Kabupaten Enrekang. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis hubungan antara dimensi kualitas pelayanan, yaitu reliability (keandalan), responsiveness (daya tanggap), dan tangibles (bukti fisik) dengan kepuasan pasien di Puskesmas Kota Kecamatan Enrekang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain cross-sectional dan analisis data menggunakan uji chi-square. Populasi penelitian adalah pasien poli umum sebanyak 338 orang, dengan sampel 184 responden yang diambil melalui simple random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga variabel, yaitu reliability, responsiveness, dan tangibles, tidak memiliki hubungan yang signifikan secara statistik dengan kepuasan pasien (p > 0,05). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa kepuasan pasien mungkin lebih dipengaruhi oleh faktor non-teknis, seperti empati, komunikasi interpersonal, dan perhatian personal dari tenaga kesehatan.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to find out the prevention and control of violence and the management of supervision of violence in the world of education for students in improving the quality of schools. This research used the method of descriptive research in terms of survey research. The subjects of this study were school residents (principals, teachers, and school staff at SD Aceh Besar. To collect factual information is used the interview method. The use of interviewing techniques received positive responses, as well as providing input and effective suggestions regarding the management of violence monitoring in the field of education. The results of this study show that there are several indicators in the monitoring management of violence. First, schools must conduct counseling or outreach and work with the police officer. Next, violence management can also be carried out in an orderly manner and create a conducive or comfortable situation by forming a violence monitoring team, implementing the rules and sanctions, or follow-up when the event of violence. Research conclusions show some internal indicators of management violence supervision: schools should take counseling or socialization and work with government officials such as the police.

Abstract

Pasar Seluma is located on the west coast of Bengkulu province and has a protected forest area that has been maintained for a long time. Being in a strategic position, it gives the community the opportunity to manage natural resources, especially those from the coast. However, this became complicated when the company PT Faminglevto Bakti Abadi entered in 1973 to carry out iron sand mining activities on the coast of the village. The Pasar Seluma Nature Reserve is located on the coast of Seluma district, a disaster-prone area that can actually function as a 'natural living fence'.According to the Law on Conservation of Living Natural Resources and Ecosystems, protecting these areas is the responsibility and obligation of both the government and the community. In this case, amidst environmental problems and regulatory inconsistencies, the people of Pasar Seluma carried out various activities with the aim of rejecting PT.FBA's operations to defend the existing conservation area. This research uses an empirical legal research method that involves searching and collecting data collectively through site observations and interviews with respondents as well as a case approach. This research will examine the role of the local community, namely the Pasar Seluma Village Community, in efforts to defend the nature reserve area from mining activities that have the potential to damage the environment and how legal violations committed by PT Faminglevto Bakti Abadi.

Abstract

Multimodal Texts Implementation in Indonesian Primary and Secondary EFL Classrooms: Prospects and Challenges. This study investigates the prospects and challenges of implementing multimodal texts in Indonesian primary and secondary EFL classrooms. Using a qualitative survey approach, data were collected from 33 English teachers in Malang City via an online questionnaire. Findings revealed that 31 teachers had integrated multimodal texts, such as videos, diagrams, audio, music, picture books, and e-learning tools, into their instruction. Teachers reported benefits, including increased student engagement and a more enjoyable learning experience. However, challenges arose, including students' struggles with multimodal learning, limited internet access, resource constraints, and a need for more teacher training. This study suggests a need for further research to design effective instructional strategies for integrating multimodal texts in EFL, especially for young learners in primary and junior high school in Indonesia. Keywords: multimodal text, primary, secondary, EFL, Indonesia.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i3.2024102

Abstract

Foreign language anxiety has been proven to be an important issue in language learning, according to research on language learning in foreign languages. This study aims to determine the level of anxiety experienced by English preservice teachers. Most research projects in the past concerned learners’ anxiety about students who learning English. To fill the gap, the current study tries to deliver a different perspective on classroom anxiety. Thus, the current study investigates anxiety from preservice teachers’ points of view quantitatively. The current study examines the level of anxiety by adopting the Foreign Language Teaching Anxiety Scale (FLTAS) by Yoon (2012). Next, the scale in the form of a questionnaire has been responded to by 27 English preservice teachers. Further, the results show that the preservice teachers have a moderate level of anxiety. Overall, the study outlines the principal factors causing and affecting preservice anxiety about teaching English as a foreign language in the classroom

Abstract

Waste comes from human, animal, and natural activities. Food scraps or wet waste, dry waste, plastic, paper, and so on are types of waste that we often encounter in society. This is a common occurrence in modern-day life. Household waste encompasses waste from various sources such as the kitchen, bathroom, laundry, industrial waste, and human waste. A positive and healthy environment is essential to support human survival. The process of disease is an interaction between disease agents, humans (hosts), and the surrounding environment. The aim of this activity is to provide health information to the public regarding the dangers of household waste and how to manage it through a community approach. The sample for this service was 62 heads of families. Delivery of the material was carried out at the Kalosi Alau Village office through direct practice on how to manage household waste, lectures, and discussions. Wet (organic) waste disposal yielded the highest percentage results, with open trash bins accounting for 77.4%, and closed trash bins accounting for 22.6%. Lack of public knowledge of waste disposal impacts is the cause. We hope that this activity will help the public understand the proper management and utilization of household waste.

Abstract

Strategi pembelajaran berdiferensiasi masih menjadi permasalahan bagi sebagian guru di Kabupaten Malang. Mengacu pada permasalahan tersebut, kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas guru Sekolah Dasar melalui pemberian pelatihan dan pendampingan tentang strategi pembelajaran berdiferensiasi. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Sekolah Dasar Negeri Kalisongo 01 Kecamatan Dau. Peserta kegiatan ini adalah guru-guru dari beberapa sekolah di kabupaten Malang. Metode yang digunakan meliputi beberapa tahapan, yakni koordinasi dengan Korwil Dinas Pendidikan setempat, pemberian pelatihan, dan pendampingan kepada para peserta terkait strategi pembelajaran berdiferensiasi. Luaran dari kegiatan ini adalah kemampuan masing-masing guru dalam menyusun modul ajar berbasis pembelajaran berdiferensiasi. Setiap guru diminta mengumpulkan modul ajar yang telah disusun kepada tim pengabdi untuk diberikan feedback. Dari hasil modul ajar yang telah dikumpulkan para peserta menunjukkan bahwa guru-guru mampu menerapkan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi di kelas. Para peserta sangat antusias mengikuti kegiatan ini sehingga para peserta minta dilakukan kegiatan yang serupa dengan tema yang berbeda
