Abstract

Palangka Raya City as the growth center of Central Kalimantan and surrounding areas needs transportation facilities that can support the economy of the people. This study aims to evaluate the level of passenger satisfaction that has been achieved and identify which indicators need immediate improvement by applying the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) method, the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method and the Service Quality method. The results of the CSI analysis produce a value of 63.88%, meaning that the overall level of travel service on the Palangka Raya-Buntok route is quite satisfactory and the results of the Cartesian diagram from the IPA analysis of the indicators that fall into quadrant I are that the travel driver is in good physical and mental health and does not smoke or play on his cellphone. while driving, the car room is smoke-free, and transactions and services are served quickly and precisely, quadrant I is considered very important, but performance is not optimal so, improving it is a top priority, a strategy that can be carried out by the authorities by providing direction to drivers and bureau employees travel journey regarding matters relatedto these indicators.

Abstract

Roads are an important factor in economic growth and regional development. However, high traffic volumes can lead to deterioration in road quality, such as damage to the surface. In Kapuas Regency, particularly on the Jepang roads, damage is often caused by vehicles, especially trucks, which exceed the load limits. Proper road maintenance is needed to repair and prevent further damage, with a focus on assessing the nature of the damage. A planned maintenance programme will support smooth transport and the regional economy. The research was carried out in Kapuas Regency, specifically on Jepang roads, using the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method, which is used to determine the pavement condition index on a scale of 0 to 100, which is used to assess road conditions based on the level of damage. The research results show that Jepang roads have an average PCI of 79.2, which is in the very good category. Based on the PCI method, this road requires routine maintenance to prevent more serious damage in the future.

Abstract

The intersection of Temanggung Kanyapi Street, Wortel Street, and Seth Adji Street in Palangka Raya City is a frequent source of delays and congestion. This is due to the high volume of vehicles entering and exiting both main and minor roads. The situation is made worse by the dense activities around the intersection, such as residential areas, educational institutions, and commercial areas, which cause congestion during peak hours. This research will analyze the performance of the unsignalized intersection based on PKJI 2023 and provide recommendations for handling to improve intersection performance. Direct surveys are used to collect primary and secondary data, and key indicators such as Degree of Saturation (DS), Delay, and Queue Probability are calculated. The analysis results are clear: from Tuesday to Sunday, the DS value is ≤ 0.85, meaning the intersection is still operable. However, on Monday, the intersection's performance declines, with the DS value increasing to 0.93 (DS ≥ 0.85), indicating nearing saturation. The delay values range from 8.75 to 16.35 seconds per vehicle, with the largest delay occurring on Monday at 16.35 seconds per vehicle, which falls into category C.

Abstract

Clay shale is a type of clay soil formed by fine-grained sediments such as clay. Clay shale is very hard under closed conditions, but under open conditions, exposed to sunlight, water and air for a long time, its state changes and becomes weak, which ultimately causes a decrease in soil shear strength. The purpose of this thickness comparison is to analyze the feasibility of clay shale soil as a base layer for highway pavement with the thickness of MDP 2024. The analysis results show that the deflection and stress that occur in the flexible pavement structure are both safe/feasible. Thus, both pavement thicknesses can be implemented. The results of stress and deflection from IKN design data are the maximum stress of 823.2 kN/m2 < 1,450 kN/m2 (allowable stress) and 2.668 x 10-3 m < 2.5 10-2 m (allowable deflection). As for the results of stress and deflection with thickness The 2024 Road Pavement Design Manual method is used, the maximum stress is 1075 kN/m2 < 1,450 kN/m2 (allowable stress) and 1,601 x 10-3 m < 2.5 10-2 m (allowable deflection). It is recommended to use the design pavement thickness from the IKN design for the evaluation because the stability of the flexible pavement structure in the IKN design is better than the pavement structure using the MDP 2024 method.

Abstract

The Sangomang Culinary Area on Jalan Yos Sudarso, Palangka Raya City, is a popular destination whose operations take place at night. This popularity raises problems related to limited parking spaces, especially due to the high parking activity on the road (on street parking). This study aims to analyze the characteristics of existing parking, both on the road body and in the parking lot (off street parking), as well as design a new parking lot design that is able to accommodate a larger vehicle capacity. The methods used include the collection of primary data through field surveys related to volume, accumulation, duration, capacity, index, turnover rate, and parking space needs, as well as secondary data in the form of documentation of existing conditions. The results of the analysis show that the parking capacity in the courtyard is currently inadequate, with the highest parking volume reaching 278 vehicles on Saturday, consisting of 183 vehicles in on street parking and 95 vehicles in off street parking. Therefore, a new, more extensive and planned parking design is needed, as well as the calculation of estimated parking revenue using a fixed rate system based on the design.

Abstract

Palangka Raya City is a developed urban area with significant traffic flow, especially on primary arterial roads connecting provinces and districts. This condition leads to a high potential for traffic accidents. Jekan Raya District, as one of the districts in Palangka Raya, had a population of 140,173 people in 2019, so the accident risk level in this area is quite high. Population density causes competition for space and limited access to road infrastructure, which exacerbates traffic problems and increases the risk of accidents. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) can be used as an alternative to analyze and generate maps of areas and accident-prone areas in Jekan Raya District. Based on calculations of accident and fatality rates on Jalan Tjilik Riwut, the average accident rate from 2018-2022 reached 7.22% with a fatality rate of 1.19% per 100 million vehicle trips. Several roads classified as black sites include Jalan Tjilik Riwut (181 incidents), Jalan G. Obos (58), Jalan RTA Milono (38), and others. This data serves as an important reference in managing locations prone to traffic accidents.
