Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan metode Word of the Week (WOW) yang dipadukan dengan media digital sebagai strategi untuk meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata Bahasa Inggris siswa kelas VII dan VIII di SMP Aisyiyah Sungguminasa. Latar belakang kegiatan ini adalah rendahnya penguasaan kosakata siswa yang disebabkan oleh metode pembelajaran yang monoton serta kurangnya paparan terhadap kosakata baru. Kegiatan ini menggunakan pendekatan berbasis praktik nyata dengan pelaksanaan selama bulan April 2025. Setiap minggu, siswa diperkenalkan dengan kosakata baru melalui media visual berbasis Canva dan audio pelafalan, yang kemudian dievaluasi melalui kompetisi Spelling Bee dan pembuatan Mini Word Book. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa metode ini efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan siswa untuk mengeja, memahami, dan menggunakan kosakata yang dipelajari. Penggunaan media digital yang menarik dan konsisten terbukti mampu menciptakan suasana belajar yang lebih interaktif, menyenangkan, dan bermakna.

Abstract

Kegiatan PKM ini bertujuan untuk melatih dan membimbing siswa-siswi SMP Negeri 2 Kecamatan Somba Opu Kabupaten Gowa untuk meningkatkan keterampilan pelafalan bahasa Inggris mereka. Para siswa diberikan praktik langsung pelafalan bahasa Inggris dengan memberikan beberapa kata. Setelah itu, mereka bermain melalui tongue twister secara berpasangan dan berkelompok. Materi berfokus pada stress (tekanan) dan intonation (intonasi). Hasil yang diperoleh adalah siswa kelas 72 SMP Negeri 2 Kabupaten Gowa mampu melafalkan kata-kata dan kalimat dalam Bahasa Inggris dengan benar dan tepat. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan data bahwa 85% siswa kelas 72 SMP Negeri 2 Kabupaten Gowa mampu melafalkan hampir semua kata dalam Bahasa Inggris. Mereka mampu malafalkan kata-kata dan kalimat dengan stress dan intonasi dengan baik.

Abstract

The Sundanese Kacapi Siter exhibits distinctive microtonal characteristics and acoustic phenomena requiring objective documentation. This study integrates high-fidelity audio recording with Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) analysis to examine the microtonal properties of the Pelog Sunda tuning system and the missing fundamental phenomenon in this traditional instrument. Using Practice-Led Research methodology, we recorded 20 single-note samples with a Neumann TLM 103 condenser microphone in natural reflective classroom conditions, analyzing them through SPAN FFT spectral analysis and cent deviation calculations against 12-TET standards. Results demonstrate systematic microtonality with deviations ranging from -15 to +28 cents, with note "Ti" consistently sharp (+17 to +28 cents) and note "Na" consistently flat (-5 to -13 cents) across octaves (p<0.001, effect size d=2.4). Spectral analysis reveals a missing fundamental phenomenon in low-register notes (La 4: 58.2 Hz, Ti 4: 66.5 Hz), where harmonics dominate perceived pitch despite weak fundamental-frequency energy (-14.3 to -8.9 dBFS fundamental vs. -6.2 to -4.1 dBFS second harmonic). These findings provide quantitative evidence that Sundanese tuning represents a structured non-Western pitch system with intentional microtonal design, advancing computational ethnomusicology through objective acoustic documentation methods that enable preservation, comparative analysis, and technological applications in digital instrument development.

Abstract

The development of students' interpersonal intelligence represents a critical yet underexplored dimension of Islamic boarding school (pesantren) education, particularly concerning the specific pedagogical mechanisms through which educators facilitate competencies in empathy, prosocial behavior, and self-awareness essential for socially competent graduates. This qualitative case study examined ustadz roles in developing interpersonal intelligence at Pondok Pesantren Darunur Al-Musthafa Palembang through participant observation, in-depth interviews with purposively selected ustadz and students, and documentation analysis. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model, with validity ensured through source, technique, and time triangulation. Findings reveal that ustadz systematically implement four complementary roles (model, facilitator, mediator, and motivator) across three interpersonal intelligence dimensions: prosocial behavior (sharing, cooperation, helping, honesty, donation), self-awareness (recognizing behavior, identifying strengths/weaknesses, independence, decision-making, expressing thoughts/feelings, self-evaluation), and social communication skills (effective speaking and listening). Development occurs through embodied pedagogy within authentic pesantren community contexts rather than isolated instructional interventions, with unexpected findings revealing effective self-awareness cultivation without formalized reflection programs. Results align with Bandura's social learning theory, Goleman's emotional intelligence framework, and communication competence theory while demonstrating how traditional Islamic educational practices integrate with contemporary developmental psychology principles. The study contributes theoretically by bridging Islamic pedagogical wisdom with modern social-emotional learning frameworks and practically by providing adaptable strategies for holistic interpersonal intelligence development in diverse educational contexts.

Abstract

This study critically examines the constitutionality of Indonesia’s presidential candidacy threshold under Article 222 of Law No. 7 of 2017 in relation to the principle of popular sovereignty in Article 1(2) of the 1945 Constitution. The threshold requiring a party or coalition to hold 20% of DPR seats or 25% of the popular vote has been controversial for limiting voter choice and reinforcing oligarchic dominance. Using a normative legal research method, the study applies doctrinal interpretation through grammatical, systematic, historical, and teleological approaches to evaluate whether the threshold is consistent with constitutional democracy. The analysis identifies a disconnect between the legislative rule and the constitutional concept of sovereignty residing with the people, informed by theories of democracy, sovereignty, and progressive legal thought. While procedurally legitimate, the threshold lacks substantive constitutional validity because of its exclusionary impact on political participation. The study proposes four reform options: repeal, proportional adjustment, judicial reinterpretation, and constitutional amendment. These reforms would realign electoral rules with democratic principles and restore voters’ political agency. A doctrinal reinterpretation model is offered, framing the threshold as a regulatory instrument rather than a rigid barrier, advocating a legal structure that promotes inclusivity and reflects the people’s general will.

Abstract

his study explores the integration of humanist-emancipatory epistemology in Islamic multicultural education based on the thought of Nurcholish Madjid. In a pluralistic society, education should not merely transfer knowledge but also develop human dignity, moral sensitivity, and critical thinking. Humanist education emphasizes the balance between intellect and spirit, fostering freedom of thought, equality, and respect for diversity. By integrating multicultural values, contextualized interpretation of the Qur’an, and participatory learning, Islamic education cultivates students who are not only intellectually capable but also socially responsible and ethically conscious. This study uses qualitative literature research, analyzing primary and secondary sources to identify key concepts and patterns related to humanist, inclusive, and multicultural educational practices. The findings highlight that humanist-emancipatory education encourages holistic development, gender equality, and active engagement with societal diversity, empowering students to contribute meaningfully to a just, peaceful, and pluralistic society.

Makalah ini mengkaji konsep feng shui dari perspektif Ole Bruun, dengan fokus pada fungsi kosmologis dan perannya dalam persaingan sosial dan ekonomi. Studi ini kemudian dikontekstualisasikan dalam praktik bisnis kontemporer melalui studi kasus keluarga Salim, konglomerat Indonesia yang dikenal karena menerapkan feng shui sebagai pertimbangan strategis dalam bisnis mereka. Feng shui adalah tradisi perencanaan spasial berdasarkan pemahaman kosmik, spiritual, dan ekologis dalam budaya Tiongkok. Dalam wacana global, feng shui telah bertransformasi menjadi praktik yang menyertai keputusan bisnis, desain arsitektur, dan perencanaan kota modern. Di Indonesia, praktik ini telah menjadi bagian dari dinamika ekonomi diaspora Tionghoa, yang terlihat pada tokoh-tokoh seperti keluarga Salim. Makalah ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pandangan Ole Bruun tentang feng shui dan menilai relevansinya dalam praktik ekonomi modern Indonesia. Melalui analisis kritis, makalah ini menilai sejauh mana teori Bruun dapat menjelaskan keberhasilan ekonomi modern yang memasukkan feng shui ke dalam praktik pengambilan keputusan. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa feng shui ada sebagai ekoteologi pragmatis yang memainkan peran penting sebagai modal budaya dan legitimasi sosial dalam kegiatan bisnis, tetapi bukan sebagai satu-satunya penentu hasil ekonomi.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning (PJBL) method in enhancing students’ speaking skills at SMPN 2 Balocci, Pangkajene Regency. The research is grounded in Thomas’s (2000) framework of PJBL, which emphasizes learner-centered instruction through authentic, meaningful projects that require students to actively engage, collaborate, and produce tangible outcomes. It is also supported by Brown’s (2004) theory of speaking skills, which highlights three essential components—fluency, accuracy, and comprehensibility—as fundamental aspects of oral communication competence. The combination of these frameworks provided both theoretical and pedagogical foundations for this study. A pre-experimental research design with a one-group pre-test and post-test model was employed. The sample consisted of 73 purposively selected students. Data were collected through an individual speaking test divided into three sections: introduction, monologue, and interactive discussion. Students’ performances were assessed using the JACOB (1980) speaking rubric, which evaluates accuracy, fluency, and comprehensibility as indicators of communicative ability. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ speaking performance following the implementation of the PJBL method. The mean score increased substantially from the pre-test to the post-test, indicating notable progress in students’ oral proficiency. Results from the paired sample t-test confirmed that the difference between pre-test and post-test scores was statistically significant at the 0.05 level (p < 0.05). This demonstrates that the PJBL method effectively contributes to the development of students’ speaking skills. In conclusion, the Project-Based Learning method not only improved students’ ability to speak English more fluently, accurately, and comprehensibly but also fostered motivation, creativity, and collaboration in the classroom. The findings suggest that PJBL is a promising instructional approach for English language learning, particularly in contexts where communicative competence and student engagement are prioritized.

Abstract

This article aims to deeply analyze the conceptual relationship between Ecofeminism and Women's Moral Agency through a Post-Secular synthesis as a critical response to the dualism of modernity and the ecological crisis. Methodologically, this study utilizes a synthetic-analytical literature review method reinforced by the narrative sociology framework to elaborate on how women's embodiment experiences are converted into moral agency. The main conceptual findings confirm that women's involvement in environmental preservation transcends mere participation, constituting an agency-structure manifestation that rejects the instrumental rationality of modernity. The post-secular perspective serves as a bridge, explaining that women's moral agency is often rooted in a caring ethic strengthened by local spiritual cosmology, rather than purely secular calculation. The scientific contribution of this study lies in asserting that the synthesis of Ecofeminism and Post-Secularism offers a new ontological basis for sustainable ecological ethics, challenging the hegemony of exploitative development.
