Abstract

Every word in the Qur'an has its own meaning that cannot be replaced by other words, even though they appear synonymous. However, there are still many who interpret the meanings of insān, basyar, and nās with the same meaning, namely humans, wherever and whenever they are used. If we examine more deeply, it is found that the meaning and context of each of these words are different from one another, because if it is understood the meaning is the same between one and another, it will certainly lead to contradictions regarding the consistency of the Qur'an. Therefore, this study tries to look at the substance of the meaning of insān, nās, and basyar words. The approach used is a qualitative approach using the maudhū'i method. The data obtained will be analyzed by content analysis. From the research it was found that in general human expressions in the Qur'an consist of three forms, namely insān, nas and basyar. From the results of the analysis of the commentators related to the words insān, nas, and basyar have different meanings. Insān is a human expression to show human perfection in physical and spiritual aspects, as creatures equipped with reason, creatures who carry a mandate and will be responsible for all their actions, and insā is also used to express the negative nature of humans, as for one of the derivations of the word al- insan, namely al-ins which is often juxtaposed with the word al-jinn as a form of two things that are different in material and nature. The word nas is a human expression which is more numerous than insān as a communal meaning so that it gives birth to interaction between fellow humans as social beings. While the word basyar refers to the meaning of humans in physical appearance, as biological beings, it is often used in prophetic contexts, as a sign that the Prophets and Apostles are only ordinary humans like others physically.

Abstract

Goodness and badness are two terms that are widely used to determine an action done by humans. All forms of human action refer to them views on goodness and badness. The value of goodness and badness will always be a source of reference in carrying out various actions in their life. Goodness and badness values are not only in philosophical studies, but also become the focus of discussion on various religious sources, including the Qur’an and Hadith. Specifically this research is directed to find out the potential in humans, in this case it is closely related to the potential goodness and badness in humans which are explained in the Qur’an and Hadith. In the QS. al-Shams: 8 stated that there is a balance of the potential of  goodness and badness in humans, but in the hadith of Imam Bukhari No. 1385 stated that the potential of goodness is the most prominent in humans since being born in a state of nature. Based on these differences, the problem arises in this research that are how the views of the interpreters in interpreting verses and hadiths about the potential of goodness and badness in humans, and how to make the potential of goodness for more involved than bad. This study aims to determine the opinion of the intrepreters and find out the reasons of each intrepreter in talking about the potential of goodness and badness in humans. The results showed that the potential of goodness is the most prominent in humans, also obtained a sign that in essence the positive potential of humans is stronger than the negative potential, it's just that the attraction of badness is stronger than the attraction of goodness, therefore humans are required to maintain the purity of the soul (nafs). So that the potential of goodness is more prominent than the badness, humans should guide this potential with some instructions that have been conveyed by Allah in the Qur’an, and so have been conveyed by the Prophet in the hadith, namely by keeping the heart to remain in nature.

Abstract

Most people understand that forgiveness must begin with an apology first, even though in the Qur'an it is explained that forgiveness begins with forgiveness before an apology. This research uses library research method. Data analysis used the maudhu'i interpretation method. The results of the study found 34 verses about forgiveness in different suras. Of the 34 verses, the author takes six verses in examining the problem in question, namely surah al-A'raf: 199, surah Ali 'Imran: 134, surah al-Shura: 40, surah al-Nur: 22, surah al-Baqarah: 178 and Surah Ali 'Imran verse 159. These verses were chosen because they are closely related to the discussion being studied. The study of the Qur'anic verses revealed that the concept of forgiveness offered is to forgive the perpetrators of crimes before an apology from the perpetrators arrives. From the interpretation of Ibn Kathir and M. Quraish Shihab it is known that Allah SWT. commanded His servant to become a person who forgives, it is a highly glorified trait.
