Abstract

This study is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in the subject of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS), highlighting the need for innovation in instructional strategies. The objective of this research is to describe the implementation of the Discovery Learning model assisted by Flipbook media to improve the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SDN 1 Padang Panjang Timur. The research employs a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method using both qualitative and quantitative approaches, conducted over two cycles. Each cycle consisted of the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Cycle I was carried out over two sessions, while Cycle II consisted of one session. The research subjects included one teacher and 28 fifth-grade students, comprising 16 boys and 12 girls. Data were collected through observation, tests, and non-test techniques. The findings indicate significant improvements across various aspects of learning. Observation of the teaching module increased from 87.49% (categorized as good) in Cycle I to 97.72% (very good) in Cycle II. Teacher and student activity also rose from 82.81% to 93.75%. The average student learning outcome improved from 74.99 (fair category) in Cycle I to 86.07 (good category) in Cycle II. The study concludes that the implementation of the Discovery Learning model assisted by Flipbook media is effective in enhancing student learning outcomes in IPAS instruction.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in the Pancasila Education subject, which are partly attributed to suboptimal teaching processes and limited student engagement. The purpose of this research is to describe the improvement in learning outcomes through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model among Grade IV students at SDN 23 Payakumbuh. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each comprising the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects included one teacher and 19 students (14 boys and 5 girls). Data collection techniques involved observation, tests, and non-test instruments. The results show that the application of the PBL model led to significant improvements across various aspects of learning. The quality of teaching modules increased from 88.88% in Cycle I to 94.44% in Cycle II, categorized as “Excellent.” Teacher activity improved from 83.92% to 96.42%, while student activity increased from 80.35% to 92.85%. Moreover, the average student learning score rose from 77.03 in Cycle I to 86.88 in Cycle II. These findings demonstrate that the PBL model is effective in enhancing Pancasila Education learning outcomes at the elementary level by promoting more active, contextual, and student-centered learning.

Abstract

Pesantren are the oldest Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia and play a central role in shaping the character of the Muslim generation. Amidst the development of globalization and modern technology, pesantren are required to maintain their Islamic scholarly identity while adapting to the competency requirements of the 21st century. This study analyzes the approach to character building of santri (students) at two types of pesantren in South Tapanuli: Pesantren Mushtofawiyah, which represents traditional pesantren, and Pesantren Darul Mursyid, which represents modern pesantren. Using a qualitative method with a case study design, data was obtained through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and analysis of curriculum documents and character building programs. The results show that the Mushtofawiyah Islamic Boarding School develops the character of its students through mastery of classical Islamic texts, intense worship, simplicity, discipline, and the exemplary behavior of the kiai, thereby producing students who are religious, humble, and deeply rooted in classical Islamic tradition. In contrast, the Darul Mursyid Islamic boarding school applies an integrative approach that combines religious education, science, technology, foreign languages, and life skills so that students are more adaptive, communicative, and critical. The study concludes that both pesantren play a strategic role, but excel in different aspects. Moderate integration between tradition and modernization is seen as the ideal model for producing a generation of Muslims who are moral, critical, digitally literate, and ready to face global challenges.

Abstract

Restorasi hutan alami semakin mendapat tempat sebagai cara efektif memperbaiki ekosistem yang sudah rusak. Penelitian ini mengevaluasi keberhasilan restorasi alami dengan melihat perubahan lanskap, keanekaragaman hayati, regenerasi vegetasi, dan bagaimana patroli menjaga kawasan. Analisis mengandalkan data perubahan tutupan lahan dari tahun 2009, 2017, sampai 2025, rekaman satwa lewat kamera jebak, pengamatan langsung dan vegetasi, data regenerasi pohon, serta aktivitas patroli. Hasilnya tutupan hutan sekunder makin luas, satwa kunci lebih sering muncul, regenerasi pohon berjalan baik, dan tekanan dari aktivitas manusia menurun. Temuan ini menegaskan restorasi alami mampu menjadi strategi pemulihan ekosistem hutan tropis yang efektif dan berkelanjutan. Kata kunci: Restorasi alami, Regenerasi hutan, Kamera jebak, Keanekaragaman hayati, Monitoring lanskap.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the tendency of housewives to acquire gold jewelry—a behavior not solely driven by financial considerations but also shaped by lifestyle preferences and local cultural norms. Conducted in Sidenreng Rappang Regency (Sidrap), a region predominantly inhabited by the Bugis ethnic community where gold holds profound socio-cultural significance, this study aims to evaluate the extent to which husbands’ income and lifestyle influence g old jewelry purchasing behavior, with Bugis cultural values acting as a moderating variable. Employing a quantitative approach, data were collected through questionnaires administered to 100 housewives in Sidrap. Statistical analysis was performed using Partial Least Squares-based Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings confirm a significant and positive influence of both husbands’ income and lifestyle on gold jewelry purchasing behavior. Furthermore, Bugis cultural values were found to strengthen the impact of these two factors. The results demonstrate that economic capacity and lifestyle preferences drive gold jewelry acquisition among housewives in Sidrap, while Bugis cultural norms—functioning as a moderator—enhance the strength of these relationships. This highlights the critical role of integrating localized cultural contexts in understanding consumer behavior.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji fenomena peran ganda mahasiswa IAIN Parepare yang bekerja sebagai kurir hilo dalam upaya meningkatkan kesejahteraan ekonomi keluarga. Di era digital, transportasi daring menjadi peluang ekonomi yang diminati mahasiswa karena fleksibilitas waktu yang memungkinkan penyesuaian dengan jadwal perkuliahan. Namun, menjalankan tanggung jawab akademik sekaligus profesional menimbulkan tantangan berupa konflik peran ganda (work-study conflict). Ketidakseimbangan dalam mengelola kedua peran ini berpotensi memicu stres, kelelahan fisik (burnout), serta penurunan prestasi akademik. Metode yang digunakan dalam artikel ini adalah studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif, melalui wawancara terhadap mahasiswa yang mengalami kendala dalam pembagian waktu dan fokus belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pekerjaan sebagai kurir tidak hanya membantu mahasiswa dalam memenuhi kebutuhan pribadi, tetapi juga berkontribusi dalam mengurangi beban ekonomi orang tua, khususnya dalam pembiayaan pendidikan dan kebutuhan sehari-hari. Selain itu, kesejahteraan mahasiswa pekerja tidak hanya diukur dari aspek finansial, tetapi juga dari keseimbangan psikologis dan keberhasilan akademik. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan perlunya dukungan dari pihak perguruan tinggi bagi mahasiswa pekerja agar mereka dapat menjalankan peran ekonomi dan akademik secara harmonis tanpa mengorbankan kualitas pendidikan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of local tax revenues in Gowa Regency with a span of time for the last 6 years, namely 2013-2018. The analytical method used in this research is quantitative method and descriptive analysis, while the analytical tool used in this research is effectiveness analysis. Besides, qualitative analysis is also used in the form of direct interviews with local officials. The results of this study indicate that the regional tax revenues in Gowa Regency are broadly in the effective category. The factors that play a role in influencing the status of the effectiveness of regional tax revenues, namely the integrity of the taxpayer, the obligation to carry out tax payments in a timely manner, the local tax collection supervision system and the mechanism for collecting local taxes in Gowa Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning outcomes of students in the science subject using the Make A Match cooperative model in grade V of SDN 11 Pauh, Padang City. The type of research is CAR with a quantitative and qualitative approach. The subjects are 1 teacher and 29 students consisting of 11 males and 18 females. The results of the research conducted showed an increase in: (a) the average RPPM assessment in cycle 1 was 87.59% with a good predicate (B), then increased in cycle 2 to 93.75% with a very good predicate (SB), (b) the implementation of activities from the teacher and student perspective in cycle 1 obtained an average of 83.33% with a good predicate (B) and 79.16% with a sufficient predicate (C) and there was an increase in cycle 2, namely 91.66% (SB) and 91.66% (SB), (d) the average learning outcomes in cycle 1 were 75.67 (C), increasing in cycle 2 to 87.2 (B).
