Abstract

One keys to achieving learning objectives is designing meaningful learning for students. Meaningful learning is learning that can be related to students' daily lives. Based on the results of interviews with SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Malang, students felt that learning mathematics is not related to students' daily lives. Therefore, the team offers alternative meaningful learning solutions using an ethnomathematics approach. Ethnomatematics plays a role in connecting culture with mathematics. By using ethnomathematics it is hoped that students can also get to know their local culture and preserve regional culture, especially Malang. Implementation of community service activities through four stages, namely training teachers in exploring the culture of mathematical concepts, assisting in the development of ethnomathematics-based teaching materials, assisting in the implementation of ethnomathematics-based learning, and evaluating activities.

Abstract

This research aims to determine students' mathematical communication skills in mathematics which was carried out using the Jigsaw cooperative method. The research method uses experimental research. The design in this research leads to a true experimental design with a posttest-only control design. The sampling technique was simple random sampling taken from odd semester student report cards. The research sample consisted of 2 classes, namely class VIIA and VIIB. The research instrument consists of a test sheet consisting of five descriptive questions with material about plane figures and an observation sheet containing two indicators of mathematical communication, written and oral. The data analysis technique uses an independent T-Test, so it can be concluded that (1) the Jigsaw type cooperative learning method has an effect on students' mathematical communication skills. (2) Independent sample T-Test with a significance value of  showing a significant difference between class VII A as the experimental class and class VIIB as the control class.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine students' written communicative competence in solving key problems of SPLDV in everyday life. This study uses descriptive qualitative research. These data are determined by testing. Subjects in this study consisted of her three undergraduates from UTS results. The three students were made up of representatives of high, middle and low ability students. In addition, students are given test questions supported by the SOLO taxonomy of SPLDV materials, which are analyzed according to indicators of mathematical communicative competence. The bottom line is that students with good math skills are able to give correct and correct answers, but have not yet reached the level of extended abstraction. A student with moderate writing ability can demonstrate the correct procedure, but still has problems using and processing the information, so the answers are wrong and only reach the polystructural level. Students with low mathematics ability do not solve problems, only part of the problem is presented, so they only reach the monostructural level and most of the answers are wrong.

Abstract

Multicultural education is an alternative to build togetherness in the diversity of society, and multiculturalism requires the accommodation of minority rights, both cultural and social. This research focuses on constructing a multicultural understanding of religious sects disseminated through religious sects. The research aims to describe the multicultural education of religious understanding that aims to build social harmony amid the diversity of religious sects in Sana Daja village. This research approach uses qualitative ethnography type. The data sources in this research are leaders of religious organizations, heads of religious activities, kyai, lora, and people who know the changes in interaction between religious sects in the research location. The results showed that some religious groups in the village of Sana Daja disseminate multiculturalism through religious activities such as recitation, traditions, or community social activities; religious sects become instruments of social power to instill multicultural awareness. The construction of multicultural education between religious views begins with recategorization and desacralization, explaining the various interpretations of fiqh, emphasizing the substance and purpose of religious activities, and placing religious traditions as part of ijtihad products in the practical realm. This multicultural awareness construction can slowly open the isolation of minority religious groups, build communication between religious groups that have been constrained due to conflict, and foster an attitude of tolerance so that awareness is born to build ukhuwah Islamiyah in society.
