Abstract

A country's economic growth cannot be separated from the role of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as the backbone of a strong economy. MSMEs experience various problems, including limited access to resources, inadequate infrastructure, and the inability to compete on a larger scale. These factors become obstacles for MSMEs to optimize their potential and compete in an increasingly complex market . It is important for MSME players to improve their product advantages or marketing strategies, because MSMEs are one of the important business sectors in Indonesia. There are not many studies that systematically measure the contribution of financial literacy in building the competitive advantage of MSMEs, especially in the Indonesian context. This research tries to open a new space by using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to detail the understanding of the concept of financial literacy and its implications for the competitive advantage of MSMEs in Indonesia. The importance of this research lies in the urgency to provide a more comprehensive view of how financial literacy can make a concrete contribution in establishing and maintaining the competitive advantage of MSMEs. Results of this research state that Financial literacy has a significant role in helping MSMEs face financial challenges and compete in a dynamic market. It is hoped that the results of this research can provide practical and policy implications for stakeholders, government and business people in increasing the financial literacy of MSMEs, so as to create an environment that supports the growth and competitiveness of MSMEs in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research holds high urgency given the high rate of educated unemployment in Indonesia, particularly among Vocational High School (SMK) graduates. The study's core focus is analyzing the crucial role of vocational education in creating graduates who are not only job-ready but also capable of entrepreneurship. Using a quantitative, cross-sectional design on 12th-grade Marketing students at State Vocational High Schools in Mojokerto Regency, the study specifically aims to test the influence of Industrial Work Practice (Prakerin) and Entrepreneurship Education on Entrepreneurial Motivation, with Self-Efficacy as a mediating variable. Data analysis will be conducted using Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). While the final results are not yet available, the research is expected to reveal that Self-Efficacy acts as a significant mediator. This implies that the Prakerin experience and entrepreneurship coursework must first successfully foster students' self-confidence before their entrepreneurial motivation can be adequately boosted. Based on this framework, the key recommendations are to optimize the quality and duration of Prakerin and to reform Entrepreneurship Education methods to focus more on developing Self-Efficacy through intensive business simulations and real-world projects. Ultimately, these findings are expected to provide vital insights into how industrial experience and formal education can be better aligned to effectively encourage entrepreneurial aspirations among SMK graduates

Abstract

This study explores the dynamics of financial behaviour among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) within the framework of contemporary Islamic financial management. It focuses on analyzing the relationship between financial literacy, attitudes toward Islamic finance, intention to manage finances in line with Sharia principles, and the influence of personality traits on financial decision-making. Using a quantitative survey involving MSME actors from various industry sectors, the research finds that while overall financial literacy remains relatively low, most respondents possess a basic understanding of Islamic financial principles. Higher levels of financial literacy—especially in areas like cash flow and investment—are positively linked to effective financial management. A positive attitude toward Islamic finance also enhances MSME actors' intention to apply Sharia-compliant practices in their business operations. Those who value Islamic financial principles tend to manage debt more responsibly and avoid non-compliant financial behaviour. The study further shows that intention plays a central role in shaping Sharia-aligned financial practices. MSME actors with strong Sharia-based financial intentions are more open to using Islamic financial instruments and participating in related educational programs. Personality traits, particularly openness and conscientiousness, are found to significantly influence the likelihood of adopting Islamic financial practices, whereas closed or less detail-oriented individuals face greater challenges. This research contributes to the broader literature on Islamic financial management by offering insights into the behavioural factors influencing MSME financial practices and providing practical implications for strengthening Islamic financial literacy and implementation in the MSME sector.
