Abstract

Pain is the body's natural physiological response to harmful or dangerous stimuli, and is often treated with synthetic analgesic drugs. However, long-term use of synthetic analgesics such as Ketorolac, Codeine, Etoricoxib, and Celecoxib can cause various side effects, including digestive disorders, liver damage, and dependence. Therefore, safer and more affordable alternative treatments are needed, one of which is through the use of herbal plants. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of cabbage leaf infusion (Brassica oleracea) as a natural analgesic agent in reducing pain. The study was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design with five treatment groups: a negative control, four positive control groups (each given Ketorolac, Codeine, Etoricoxib, and Celecoxib), and one test group given 5 grams of cabbage leaf infusion. The pain model used was 0.6% acetic acid induction intraperitoneally in male white mice (Mus musculus), and the observed parameters were the number of writhing for 30 minutes post-induction. The results showed that cabbage leaf infusion inhibited the pain response with an inhibition percentage of 47.53%. Statistically, this effectiveness did not show a significant difference compared to the positive control group (p > 0.05). These findings indicate that cabbage leaf infusion has the potential to be an effective, safe, and economical natural analgesic alternative. This research supports the development of local plant-based herbal therapies for the management of mild to moderate pain.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of environmental accounting, leverage, and dividend policy on firm value, both partially and simultaneously, in mining sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. A quantitative approach was employed using multiple linear regression analysis on secondary data from 2017 to 2022. The results show that, partially, environmental accounting and dividend policy have a positive and significant effect on firm value. Leverage displays varied effects depending on the individual company’s capital structure. Simultaneously, the three independent variables explain 57.8% of the variability in firm value (R² = 0.578), indicating a strong predictive model. These findings support stakeholder theory and signaling theory, offering significant implications for corporate management, investors, and regulators in formulating sustainable and financial strategies for mining companies.

Abstract

Pregnancy is a physiological condition that causes physical and psychological changes, one of which is nausea and vomiting (emesis gravidarum), which often occurs in the first trimester. If left untreated, this condition can lead to nutritional disorders, dehydration, weight loss, and impact the health of the mother and fetus. Management can be carried out with pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies, one of which is lemon aromatherapy, which is known to have a relaxing and refreshing effect and help reduce nausea symptoms. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of lemon aromatherapy in reducing nausea and vomiting in pregnant women in the first trimester at the Bies Community Health Center, Bies District, Central Aceh Regency in 2022. The study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design for pregnant women in the first trimester. Thirty respondents were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used an observation sheet, and data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that before the intervention, the majority of respondents experienced severe nausea (53.3%) and moderate vomiting (50%). After receiving lemon aromatherapy, the majority of respondents experienced mild nausea (90%) and mild vomiting (93.3%). The statistical test results showed a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between before and after the intervention. The conclusion of this study is that lemon aromatherapy is effective in reducing nausea and vomiting in pregnant women in the first trimester. Lemon aromatherapy can be recommended as a safe, simple, and easy-to-implement non-pharmacological therapy alternative for treating emesis gravidarum.

Abstract

This study discusses political communication as an important element in the political system, covering basic concepts, definitions from various perspectives, objectives, and its historical development. Political communication is understood as the process of conveying messages related to power, policy, and distribution of resources in society, which occurs between political actors, institutions, and the public. In addition to reviewing modern concepts, this study also traces the traces of political communication in Islamic history, especially during the time of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. This study shows that the Prophet Muhammad SAW applied the principles of political communication effectively in building a Muslim community, spreading Islamic teachings, managing conflicts, and establishing a state in Medina. Political communication in this context plays an important role in shaping public opinion, strengthening political participation, and delivering strategic information. These findings confirm that political communication has strong historical roots and high relevance in understanding political dynamics, both in classical and contemporary contexts.

Abstract

The semantic study of religious texts is becoming increasingly important in understanding the meaning of spiritual teachings in a deep, contextual, and relevant way to current developments. This article aims to analyze the semantic aspects of Buddhist texts, emphasizing the meaning, symbolism, and interpretation of key terms. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a hermeneutic method to examine key concepts such as dukkha, nirvana, and samsara found in classical Buddhist texts, including the Dhammapada, the Lotus Sutra, and the Abhidhamma. The analysis shows that the meaning of terms in Buddhist texts is not static or merely literal, but rather contains symbolic, philosophical, and spiritual dimensions that develop according to cultural, social, and historical contexts. These findings confirm that a semantic approach can enrich the understanding of Buddhist teachings, broaden the horizons of religious interpretation, and bridge the relevance of Buddhist values in modern human life.

Abstract

Implementing responsive feeding is essential for modifying the nutritional status and overall well-being of young children. The aim of this narrative review is to provide a thorough synthesis of the current evidence on responsive feeding and its impact on the nutritional status of young children. Searches were conducted in PubMed and Medline with keywords "Responsive feeding," AND “young children”. The inclusion and exclusion criteria were defined to choose the most pertinent studies. The initial search yielded 106 articles, with a total of 22 full-text articles examined, 12 of which were appropriate for inclusion. The review emphasizes the function of responsive feeding in maintaining healthy eating habits, reducing childhood obesity, and promoting optimal growth and development in young children. The study highlights the significance of early nutrition treatments that prioritize responsive feeding to enhance nutritional quality and foster healthy eating habits during early childhood. It also discusses the difficulties that caregivers experience when implementing responsive feeding methods, such as competing societal norms and external influences. Furthermore, the review identifies data gaps and recommends additional studies to investigate the long-term impacts of responsive feeding on children's nutrition, and health outcomes. In conclusion, the narrative review underlines the significance of responsive feeding in supporting optimal nutrition and healthy eating habits in young children.
