Abstract

ABSTRACTKarimunjawa National Park (KNP) consists of 7 zones i.e., core, protection, tourism, residence, rehabilitation, cultivation, and traditional fisheries utilization zone. Fishing activities in the traditional fisheries utilization zone (TFUZ) was not optimal because of limited of fishing zone information. The objective of this study was to determine the fishing zone based on major fish for each fishing gear. This study was conducted in KNP from October to December 2009. The major fish resources were determined through analyses of comparative performance index (CPI). Fish resource potential was analyzed by bio-economic model. The existence of fish resources were used as a basis of arrangement of fishing gear arround the fishing zone, through consideration of fishing gear characteristics, the characteristics of waters, the probabilities of conflict, degradation of fish resources, and regulations. Map of fishing zones were created using geographicl information system. Results showed that potential fishes around the TFUZ were reef fishes such as trevallies, yellow tail, and grouper. The potency of reef fishes was about 149 tons/year and pelagic fish of 19,080 tons/year. Fishing zones around the TFUZ consisted of (1) area of 0-3 miles from coastal line which was allocated as the fishing zone of reef fishes using hand line and fish trap, (2) area of 3-4 miles from coastal line which was allocated as demersal fishing zone using bottom gillnet, (3) area of 0-4 miles from coastal line which was allocated as pelagic fishing zone using surface gillnet, and (4) area that more than 4 miles which was allocated as pelagic fishing zone using dynamic fishing gear (troll line), and boat lift net. Keywords:  fishing zone, reef fish, pelagic fish, gillnet, Karimunjawa

Abstract

High market demand for tuna drives the increasing intensity of tuna fishery in Sendangbiru waters. This occours also in almost all of Indonesian waters. High intensity of tuna fishing especially in Southern Java will threaten the preservation and sustainabilityof tuna resource. The decreasing trend of CPUE occured in the last 3 years (2013-2015) indicates that the exploitation rate of tuna resources in Sendangbiru was over fishing. This study aims to assess the status of tuna reasources due to fishing in Sendangbiru. The method used in this research is length based spawning potential ratio approaches or LB-SPR. Results from this study showed that the utilization of tuna resources in Sendangbiru is already at the level of over-exploited as shown by SPR value of 16.98 (less than 20%). Keywords : decreasing tren of CPUE, LB-SPR, Tuna fisheries

Abstract

Some natural zeolite types have been exploited for long time to improve the quality of mine waste water. This research was to study the effect of natural zeolite from Lampung (Indonesia) to improve the quality of acid mine drainage from gold-mine in South Sumatra. The size of zeolite is 0,045-0,090 mm and it consist of the clinoptilolite, type. The zeolite column was made from PVC pipe with the length of 20 cm and the diameter of 10,2 cm. The zeolite column was leached in saturated condition during 12 weeks and was divided into four times intake of leached samples. Waste mine water taken from the location of Barisan Tropical Mining (Rawas gold project, Indonesia) on 21 and 23 July 1998. The water samples from pit Berenai contain relatively high iron ( 28 mg/l) and mangan of 9 mg/l, while zinc is less than 2 mg/l. The water generally very acid (pH 2,9) and contained the sulphate until 250 mg/l and the value of salinity of 28 mS/cm. The water sample from sediment pond and mining river generally contained iron, mangan and zinc lower compared to Berenai pit. Leached through zeolite column in the end of experiment contained of iron less than 1 mg/l, while manganese only a little changing. For water sample from Berenai pit, the column of zeolite reduced the sulphate content become 66 mg/l, decreased the salinity to less than 18 mS/cm, and increased the pH to 6,5 or more. The results indicated that natural zeolite from Lampung can be used to improve the quality of acid mine drainage. However, the application of the zeolite for larger scale still need detailed study.

Abstract

Program pengolahan data metode Magnetotellurik dikalangan mahasiswa, khususnya inversi2D sangat jarang ditemukan.
