Abstract

This study examines the challenges, solutions, and strategies related to human resource (HR) development in food MSMEs to obtain halal certification, particularly in regions such as North Sumatra, Padangsidimpuan City, South Tapanuli Regency, and Mandailing Natal Regency, where the number of halal-certified MSMEs remains limited. Despite having a large Muslim population, MSMEs in these areas face difficulties in tapping into the halal industry. The study identifies three main issues: limited HR capacity, low-quality HR, and lack of experience. Using the Analytic Network Process (ANP) method, the findings reveal that HR development through training and education is the most effective solution, although the level of agreement among informants is moderate. Additionally, the study proposes key strategies to address these challenges, including improving technical skills and fostering attitudes, work ethics, and knowledge, with a high level of agreement on these priorities.

Abstract

This study analyzes how Islamic financial institutions can encourage inclusive economic growth, reduce social inequality, and create added value for all stakeholders. In this study, researchers used a descriptive qualitative method. The data source used library research, drawing from various scholarly materials such as books, peer-reviewed journals, and official reports. These sources were carefully selected based on their relevance and credibility, and the data was analyzed through thematic analysis to identify key insights and patterns. The results of the study showed that price distortions were caused by several factors including cartels and trader associations, which manipulate supply and pricing; ikhtikar (hoarding of goods to drive up prices); talaqqi ruqban (intercepting rural sellers before they reach the market to buy goods at unfair prices); tadlis (concealment of product defects); taghrir (misleading information to deceive buyers); and bay najasy (artificial price inflation through false bidding). Islamic financial institutions have a strategic role in preventing market distortions caused by usury practices by offering Sharia-compliant financial products that emphasize profit-and-loss sharing, ethical investment, and risk-sharing. Empirical evidence from studies on Islamic finance shows that these mechanisms contribute to price stability and more equitable wealth distribution. Islamic financial institutions can encourage sustainable economic growth without harming any party by implementing a fair and transparent profit-sharing system. However, to achieve this goal, government support is needed in the form of conducive regulations and comprehensive public education campaigns. These campaigns should focus on raising awareness about the principles and benefits of Islamic financial practices, promoting ethical market behavior, and providing training programs for market participants to ensure proper implementation of Shariah-compliant transactions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the performance of a palm oil mill using the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) model at PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV Pasir Mandoge. This research employs a quantitative approach, utilizing numerical data and statistics to answer the research questions. The data consists of primary data collected through interviews and secondary data from financial reports at PTPN IV. The data were analyzed using the Balanced Scorecard concept, which divides performance measurements into financial and non-financial perspectives. The results of the study indicate that the financial perspective yields good performance results, which need to be maintained by increasing income through marketing efforts. This can be achieved by enhancing product innovation, improving efficiency on each production machine, and developing facilities and services to boost income, maximizing existing resources for optimal returns. From the customer's perspective, performance results are poor due to inadequate attention to customer complaints and feedback, as the company focuses more on growing its market share, rather than reducing complaints through customer retention and acquisition strategies. Recommendations for the customer perspective include minimizing defective products to ensure quality, maintaining strong customer relationships, and offering appealing incentives. From an internal business process perspective, improvements in company performance are evident, as demonstrated by faster processing times, which in turn lead to higher customer satisfaction. The operational perspective shows satisfactory results, as seen in monthly outputs compared to company averages. The learning and growth perspective indicates even better outcomes. An increase in the number of employees participating in training and development has a positive impact on employee performance, satisfaction, and productivity, ultimately benefiting the company in the long run.

Abstract

Abstract

: The economic development paradigm in Ibn Khaldun's economic development model is based on the interdependence of economic and political variables. The model emphasizes the importance of justice and development in maintaining the stability and prosperity of a country. The aim of this systematic literature review (SLR) is to analyze how Ibn Khaldun's economic development model relates to the Preferred Reporting Items for the Systematic Review method. Data was obtained from online databases, namely Crossref, Google Scholar, Semantic Scholar, and Scopus (2018-2023), and 19 articles were obtained that were relevant to the research. By using the keyword search "Ibn Khaldun's economic development model" the model developed in this research provides a better understanding of the interdependence of economic and political variables and can be used as a basis for developing development models in the context of his theory. The article concludes that Ibn Khaldun's economic thinking in the circle of equity theory shows the existence of a dynamic relationship and interdependence between these variables, where the government cannot be implemented without the implementation of sharia, as well as the quantity and quality of human resources, especially those working productively will be able to improve the economy and development of a country
