Abstract

Economic development improves human resources, public welfare, and national equality. Investment sustains economic development. According to the Harrod-Domar hypothesis, investment increases productivity and economic development. This research seeks to confirm this. The researcher also adopts Umar Chapra's ideas. His views combine Islam with morals to build a healthy economy. Using quantitative methods, this study includes FDI, domestic investment, Islamic investment, population, and GDP as fundamental and related variables. The analysis found that FDI and DCI are the independent variables affecting Indonesia's economic progress. Building a company requires much cash, so Indonesia needs both to strengthen its economy. Islamic investment is still low, and Indonesia's large population has not been well controlled, causing unemployment, low education levels, many health problems, and other problems that hinder economic growth. Public interest statements This analysis found that FDI and DCI are the independent variables affecting Indonesia's economic progress. Building a firm requires a lot of cash, so Indonesia needs both to strengthen its economy. Islamic investment is still low, and Indonesia's large population has not been properly controlled, causing unemployment, low education levels, many health problems, and others that hinder economic growth. Abstract

Beauty products play a significant role in the lives of consumers, particularly for Generation Z, and have become a primary need in Indonesia, especially among women. The rapid growth of the beauty industry in Indonesia, coupled with increasing exports in the cosmetic market, underscores its importance. Effective marketing strategies, particularly word of mouth (WOM) and brand image, are crucial in influencing consumer attitudes and purchase decisions. This community service project utilized Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and collaboration methods to evaluate Somethinc’s marketing strategies. Results from the FGDs and subsequent training indicated that Somethinc had not fully implemented effective marketing strategies, leading to limited brand recognition. The project highlighted that effective marketing strategies could expand market reach, build consumer loyalty, and support sustainable growth. Maintaining a strong and consistent brand image is essential for creating long-term consumer relationships and competing effectively in the digital age. Somethinc’s use of social media platforms and engaging content, alongside loyalty programs and consistent branding, proved effective in retaining customers and enhancing brand awareness. This community service underscores the importance of understanding and applying effective marketing strategies to strengthen brand image and consumer loyalty in a competitive market.

Abstract

This article is about training about price education on the purchasing decisions of Bella Square hijabs among female students at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra (UINSU). Bella Square hijabs, known for their simple square design and affordable pricing, have seen a significant increase in sales from 2020 to 2021. The methodology involves Focus Group Discussions and coaching to understand how price and quality influence the purchasing interest of female students. Primary data was collected from 50 respondents who have purchased Bella Square hijabs. The results indicate that while the affordable price has attracted many buyers, it is crucial for the company to balance price and quality to maintain the product's market appeal. Understanding how price affects consumer value perception can assist producers in developing more effective marketing strategies, such as offering discounts, loyalty programs, and utilizing social media for promotion. Additionally, paying attention to the quality of materials and designs that align with current fashion trends is essential to capture the interest of female students. The findings of this article provide insights for producers to optimize marketing strategies and maintain consumer loyalty amid increasing competition.

Abstract

Islamic finance has increased rapidly lately. The increase is due to the fact that people are starting to use sharia and Islamic principles in transactions because they prioritize ethics and morals. The rapid development of course there are still challenges faced, one of which is about the less massive use by the community. This certainly needs to be studied again, such as the integration between Islamic financial instruments and conventional finance so that there can be an inclusive collaboration in the financial world. This research uses an analytical description method with secondary data sources. The results of this study indicate that the role of Islamic finance on economic development is very significant, this is because the principles of sharia prioritize ethics and morals in transactions so that people trust more than conventional finance. With an increasing role, of course there are still obstacles faced, one of which is limited public access to Islamic finance and an integration with conventional finance is needed. With integration with conventional finance, it turns out to be able to realize an inclusive economy such as the presence of Islamic capital markets, Islamic banking, and others so as to bring up other alternatives in the financial world.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the impact of investment and consumption in the renewable energy sector in sustainable economic development. This research uses a quantitative method of multiple linear regression analysis processed with Eviews 13 software. This research uses renewable energy sector investment data in 2017-2023 with data sources from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the Ministry of EBTKE, renewable energy consumption data sourced from the World Bank as well as emission reduction data as a result of the existence of renewable energy in accordance with the 7th pillar of the SDGs. This research found results where there is a negative relationship between investment and reducing CO2 emissions and a positive relationship between consumption and reducing CO2 emissions. However, partially and simultaneously all independent variables have an effect on reducing CO2 emissions. This is in accordance with data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, currently the renewable energy mix is only 13%, this is weakening due to the pandemic in 2020-2022. So, to increase energy security in the future, there must be increased investment in renewable energy in sustainable development because conventional energy sources are increasingly depleted and environmental pollution can disrupt ecosystems and economic systems.

Abstract

This study examines the ef ectiveness of the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) and Regency/City Minimum Wage (UMR) policies in alleviating poverty in Indonesia, using an in-depth literature study approach. Indonesia, as the fourth most populous country in the world and the largest economy in Southeast Asia, faces major challenges in reducing income inequality and poverty, especially after the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The UMP and UMR policies are designed to provide a decent standard of living for workers, but their impacts vary widely across provinces and economic sectors. This study finds that while the minimum wage policy can provide benefits for formal sector workers, its ef ectiveness in reducing poverty in the informal sector is limited, given that around 60% of Indonesia's workforce works in the informal sector that is not covered by this policy. In addition, this policy also has the potential to cause economic dislocation in areas with significant income inequality. Economic sectors that rely on cheap labor, such as manufacturing and agriculture, are vulnerable to the negative impacts of this policy. This study suggests adjusting the minimum wage policy to be more flexible and based on local economic conditions to maximize the impact of poverty alleviation.
