Abstract

Red tilapia is a fish with a relatively wide tolerance to salinity (euryhaline) changes, making it possible to cultivate red tilapia in brackish waters. Additionally, intensive farming environments can support increased stocking density. The application of biofloc technology can help address this issue. Biofloc technology is an alternative approach to addressing water quality issues in water bodies, adapted from conventional domestic wastewater treatment techniques, and can also serve as a source of natural food. This research aimed to determine the best stocking density of red tilapia reared in brackish water using biofloc technology. The method used in this research is the experimental method of Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with one factor, five levels of treatment, and three replicates. The treatments applied were 20 fish/80 L (P1), 30 fish/80 L (P2), 40 fish/80 L (P3), 50 fish/80 L (P4) and 60 fish/80 L (P5). The red tilapia used as test fish were 3-5 cm in size and adapted to 17 ppt salinity. Feed with commercial pellets 3 times a day in sufficient amounts. This research was conducted for 50 days. The results showed the best stocking density was obtained in P4 (50 fish/80 L) which produced absolute weight of 8,87 ± 0,12 g, absolute length of 3,57 ± 0,07 cm, specific growth rate of 3,55 ± 0,12%, feed conversion ratio of 0,83 ± 0,06 kg, feed efficiency of 120,32 ± 7,81%, survival rate of 86 ± 4% and blood glucose level of 71 ± 5,13 mg/dL.

Abstract

Introduction: This research aims to explore how tax avoidance and audit quality, as moderating variables, are affected by sales growth, earnings management, and company age in consumer non-cyclical food and beverage subsector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2020–2024 period. The Cash Effective Tax Rate (CETR) is implemented in this current research to quantify tax avoidance. The addition of the quality of auditing variable serving as an interaction variable fills the research gap in this research. Methods: This analysis employed a quantitative descriptive methodology. The study's population consisted of 95 companies, and 30 companies, or 150 company data samples, were selected for the study through purposive sampling.Panel data regression and moderation regression (MRA) were employed in the data analysis, and the Eviews12 data processing program was used to test secondary data types. Results : . The results of this study suggest that sales growth and company age influence tax avoidance, whereas earnings management does not. The results of the moderation regression in this study indicate that audit quality cannot moderate the effect of sales growth and earnings management on tax avoidance, while audit quality can moderate and weaken the impact of company age on tax avoidance. Conclusion and suggestions: Suggestions for future researchers include expanding the sample size, increasing the research period, and exploring additional independent variables, as well as selecting different company sectors. This will provide the public and potential investors with a more comprehensive understanding when making investment decisions. Keywords: Audit Quality, Company Age, Earnings Management, Sales Growth, and Tax Avoidance.

Abstract

Many students face difficulties in writing scientific articles that meet the standards of accredited journals, particularly Sinta 2, both in terms of substance and technical writing. This community service activity aims to improve students' skills in writing scientific articles in accordance with academic rules and reputable publication standards. The method used was training through a combination of material presentations and coaching clinics. The activity was carried out at the Biology Education Study Programme, Tanjungpura University, Pontianak, involving 14 students as participants. In the initial stage, students were introduced to the basic principles of scientific article writing, manuscript structure, and citation formats in accordance with accredited journal styles. Next, coaching clinics were conducted through individual guidance, where each participant received direct feedback on their article drafts. The evaluation results showed a significant improvement in the quality of the articles produced. Participants who initially had difficulty in writing titles, abstracts, and bibliographies began to show better understanding and were able to adjust their writing to the applicable standards. A comparison between the initial draft and the revised version shows noticeable improvements in both language and structure. Thus, this training and coaching clinic proved to be effective in improving students' competence in scientific writing and preparing them for publication in accredited journals.

Abstract

E-modules based on discovery learning are electronic teaching materials containing videos, images and audio which are arranged systematically and include the stages or syntax of the discovery learning model, namely stimulus, problem identification, data processing, proof and conclusions. The concepts obtained in this discovery learning-based e-module are not shown final form, but rather students recognize and prove existing concepts so that they gain meaningful knowledge and long-lasting memories. Therefore, this teaching material requires student activity because discovery learning-based e-modules encourage students to learn independently. The teacher only acts as a facilitator or accompanies students. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of discovery learning-based e-modules in improving student learning outcomes. The research method used is literature study, where the data obtained is recorded, analyzed and concluded. The results of the study show that e-modules based on discovery learning are able to improve student learning outcomes.
