AbstractThe purpose of this study is to find out how anthropocentrism manifests in illegal mining exploration activities in the forest area of Aceh Province. The anthropocentrism studied is related to environmental ethics in carrying out mining exploration activities. The research used in this study uses a library research approach using data sources in the form of books, articles, websites, newspapers and reports. In the results of this study it was found that there is a real form of anthropocentrism in illegal mining activities carried out at several points such as in Pidie, Central Aceh, Aceh Jaya, West Aceh, Nagan Raya and South Aceh districts. This is evidenced by human actions that continue to extract natural resources without regard to the impacts, the fatality of mining exploration is also carried out in protected forest areas. Illegal mining occurs because of a lack of supervision from related parties, the negligence of those who manage it and the lack of licensing facilitation. the factor of unscrupulous persons carrying out illegal mining activities is to make ends meet and improve the economic standard. Mining makes business land for the eyes of its goods so that it has an impact on the destruction of forest ecosystems, environmental pollution, disease outbreaks and natural disasters, around 2,000 hectares of forest land has been damaged by this illegal mining. So this research is important to do to describe that there are anthropocentrism actions in legal mining exploration that can threaten environmental damage for the benefit of human business.

Abstract

AbstractThe Government of Aceh has implemented Law Number 11 of 2006 for over a decade. The expectations of the Acehnese people were that this law would improve their welfare, balance power, and involve civil society in decision-making processes. However, after three leadership periods have passed, there has been no significant improvement experienced by the community. In fact, the implementation of this law has further exacerbated vertical conflicts within Acehnese society. This research aims to analyze the policies of the Aceh Government intended to foster positive peace in Aceh. The study utilizes a qualitative descriptive method, where secondary data consists of regional government policy documents, and primary data is gathered through interviews conducted with several Aceh government institutions. Based on the research findings, the Aceh Government has not been able to achieve positive peace in Aceh. The policies implemented by the Aceh Government do not demonstrate a shift towards positive peace in Aceh. The implementation of Law Number 11 of 2006 has not been optimal in accordance with the principles of the Helsinki MoU consistently and comprehensively. The Aceh Government needs to enhance coordination and synergy with the central government to ensure effective and comprehensive implementation of Law Number 11 of 2006.Keywords: Aceh, Positive peace, UUPA (Aceh Government Law)

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of National Defense in enhancing national vigilance and implementing Special Autonomy in Aceh. In the context of Indonesia's political and security dynamics, efforts to maintain national integrity and increase national vigilance are of paramount importance. The Special Autonomy granted to Aceh as a form of special authority in the province is also a crucial factor to be considered in the context of national security policy development. This research utilizes a qualitative descriptive method. Data for the study were obtained through literature review, national and regional policy documents related to Aceh. The study begins by elucidating the concepts of National Defense and national vigilance. Furthermore, the research discusses the implementation of Special Autonomy in Aceh and the role played by the local government in the context of national security policy development. The findings of this research indicate that the role of National Defense has a significant impact on enhancing national vigilance at the local level, including in the province of Aceh with its Special Autonomy status. Through active participation of the community and a strong role of the local government, the implementation of Special Autonomy in Aceh can contribute positively to the development of a more holistic national security policy. By understanding the role of National Defense, the Aceh local government can design programs that involve all components of society in safeguarding national security and strengthening national vigilance across Indonesia.

Abstract

This study explores the role of social media in youth political participation in Indonesia. In this digital age, social media has become an important platform for young people to engage in political issues and the democratic process. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytic approach. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), and social media analysis. The findings demonstrate that social media holds immense potential to enhance youth political participation. Social media provides an easily accessible and inexpensive platform for young people to access information, engage in discussions, and connect with others who share similar political interests. However, the use of social media for political participation is also accompanied by challenges. The spread of misinformation and disinformation, the misuse of social media for political gain, and limited access pose obstacles that need to be addressed. This study recommends improving youth media literacy, fostering constructive dialogue on social media, and strengthening social media regulations to maximize the potential of social media for youth political participation and minimize the existing challenges. This research opens up avenues for further studies on the long-term impact of social media on youth political participation, the influence of different social media platforms and content types, strategies for participation enhancement, case studies, and cross-country comparisons.
