Abstract

Decentralization in Indonesia has led to a shift in responsibilities from the central government to the regions. This has been observed in the distribution of jobs and population across metropolitan areas, such as in the Yogyakarta Metropolitan Area (Kartamantul). Kartamantul is a secondary metropolitan area in Indonesia where local governments have taken the initiative to jointly form a Joint Secretariat. The development of Kartamantul has expanded into the peripheral areas, as evidenced by changes in land use. This article examines the impact of decentralization by the Government of the Special Region of Yogyakarta on the phenomenon of urban sprawl in the Kartamantul Region. The analytical method used is descriptive analysis, with secondary data collection from previous research on decentralization and urban sprawl in Yogyakarta. The results of the analysis identify the characteristics of urban sprawl in Kartamantul based on three aspects: land use change, population growth, and economic growth. By 2017, there had been changes in non-built-up land use in the peri-urban areas of Yogyakarta, accompanied by population growth and economic expansion. The Joint Secretariat of Kartamantul has come up with solutions to address the urban sprawl phenomenon, such as the addition of Trans-Jogja routes reaching Bantul and Sleman regencies, as well as collaborative management of the Piyungan Landfill and Sewon WWTP. The conclusion of this research is that cooperation among regional governments through the Joint Secretariat of Kartamantul is an effective grassroots initiative. However, there is a need for the Joint Secretariat to be involved in spatial planning due to the complex development challenges in Kartamantul.

Abstract

In Makassar City, located in South Sulawesi, one of the contributing factors to divorce is the level of theological comprehension or grasp of the teachings of the Islamic faith. Comprehension of the theology can shape perspectives on the duties of the husband and the wife within the marriage institution. This study employs a qualitative-empirical methodology using a theology of law framework. Theology of law is a methodological approach in Islamic studies that focuses on integrating and interconnecting many aspects. The data was gathered through comprehensive interviews and analysis of documents. The informants interviewed were husband and wife who had divorced. The research findings indicate a robust correlation between theology and the Islamic law. An individual with a moderate and contextual theological comprehension will likewise possess a flexible and moderate comprehension of the Islamic legislation. Conversely, an individual with a limited and inflexible comprehension of theology will interpret the Islamic law based on the Qur’an and likely have extremist perspectives. Moreover, the incidence of divorce is a manifestation of Allah SWT's decree or fate. In Jabariyah theology, the acceptance of fate leads to a lack of initiative in pursuing settlement through the established religious courts. These theological reasons are not independent, but rather influenced by economic circumstances and inherited issues that contribute to conflict and discord, ultimately resulting in divorce. From a legal theology standpoint, it is important to highlight that an interpretation of theology that passively submits to and embraces destiny, without making any attempts at reconciliation, leads to divorce, resulting in a failure to effectively apply the Islamic law. According to the Islamic law, a divorce is preceded by a mediation process in a religious court, during which the husband and the wife are given the opportunity to carefully consider all the adverse consequences.

Abstract

The arrival of an ethnic group in a new area is part of an activity that always occurs at all times. The Chinese ethnicity is one of the foreign ethnicities which is quite easy to find in the Banjarmasin area. Basically, Banjarmasin is part of the Malay and Dayak families. So the arrival of foreign ethnic groups such as the Chinese ethnic in this city is a very interesting topic to discuss. This study aims to trace the initial process of the arrival of the ethnic Chinese and the attraction that made the ethnic group anchor their shipping destinations to this city of a Thousand Rivers. The method used in this study is the historical method which consists of heuristics (source gathering), criticism, interpretation and historiography. Heuristics was carried out by collecting sources or data obtained from interviews with several ethnic Chinese who lived in Banjarmasin and through several written documents regarding the topic of this research. Then proceed with the stage of criticism of sources internally and externally. After going through the criticism stage, an interpretation (interpretation) is carried out in order to process the information from the sources that have been obtained. The final stage is to write (historiography). The research results obtained were that the arrival of ethnic Chinese in Banjarmasin began with shipping and trade activities in the coastal areas of Banjarmasin. The arrival of traders from the Bamboo Curtain country began to develop into a colony which was formed into a village. Banjarmasin itself has an attraction for migrants, namely the wealth of natural resources and the bustling trading port in the coastal area of Banjarmasin Time Formerly. The ethnic Chinese reside and can still be traced to this day and are able to blend in well with the people around them.

Abstract

Abstract

Cities are facing increasing challenges as a result of the effects of climate change. Climate change is causing changes in rainfall patterns, rising sea levels, and rising temperatures in Indonesia, resulting in tidal flooding in inundated coastal areas as well as urban infrastructure. Coastal communities in Bumi Waras district Bandar Lampung City choose to live in inappropriate informal arrangements in disaster-prone areas such as those affected by abrasion, tidal waves, and tsunamis. The population of this disaster-prone area is estimated to be 3000 people, and this number is growing every year. This research aims to discover the factors and history behind why this population continues to live in disaster-prone coastal areas. The structure equation model (SEM) was used to analyze the data in this study, with five factors and 21 variables tested. There were a total of 169 samples collected. Humans (M), with variables of biological needs (M1), perceptions and feelings (M2), emotional connections (M3), and social factors (S), with sub-variables of economy (Economics; S4), and community (S2), are the most influential factors in choosing a place to live on the coast of Bandarlampung City. In 1940, the Bumi Waras district began to develop its housing system. People live in slums due to a lack of housing, economic constraints, and the fact that immigrants do not have enough money to buy or inherit land. Keywords: Home Location preferences, Prone Areas, Structure Equation Model (SEM)

Abstract

This research explores the application of Building Information Modeling (BIM) for collision detection in multi-story buildings, with a focus on the Directorate General of Customs and Excise's Office of Facilities and Infrastructure in Banjarmasin as a case study. The primary objectives of this research are to quantify and analyze collisions among structural, architectural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) elements within the building, and to assess how collision detection impacts material quantities and cost estimates. The study leveraged Revit 2022 to construct a comprehensive 3D building model and utilized Navisworks 2022 for clash detection analysis, identifying clashes across the three mentioned components. Subsequently, clash resolution strategies, including component geometry and position adjustments, were employed. The investigation reveals that design errors emerged as the predominant cause of collisions, followed closely by design inconsistencies and mismatches. The findings underscore the potential for substantial cost savings, up to 10.056% of the total project budget, primarily driven by optimizations in architectural materials. As a result, the study recommends a renewed emphasis on design coordination as a means to proactively prevent clashes and thereby reduce overall project costs.
