Abstract

Glycation is a non-enzymatic chemical reaction between reducing sugars and amino groups from proteins, nucleic acids or phospholipids to form advanced glycation end products (AGEs). The formation of AGEs is related to blood glucose control. Inhibition of AGEs formation in diabetes can limit tissue damage. The bad impact of increasing blood glucose levels is hyperglycemia. Bitter melon fruit empirically lowers blood glucose in test animals by reducing blood glucose levels. through the process of inhibiting gluconeogenesis in the liver, protecting pancreatic beta cells, increasing insulin sensitivity and reducing oxidative stress. Meanwhile, okra fruit contains metabolite compounds for the treatment of diabetes mellitus, through inhibiting the activity of the α-glucosidase enzyme, improving pancreatic β cells and antioxidant properties. Effervescent is something that contains gas bubbles, like water-soluble tablets with a foaming effect. The aim of this research is to determine the Anti-Glycation Combination of Effervescent Granules from Green Okra and Bitter Gourd fruit extracts. The research was carried out by extracting Bitter Gourd and Green Okra. The extraction results are mixed in the same ratio to make three Effervescent Granule formulations. The results of the Effervescent granule formulation were tested for anti-glycation activity using the spectrophotometric method. From the research results, it can be concluded that the combination formula of 200mg bitter melon extract and 200mg green okra extract has the best results with a % reduction in glycation of 52.650% ± 0.208; IC50 108.5255 ppm with %KV 0.522

Abstract

Public facilities play a crucial role in driving economic growth and development. Nevertheless, the dearth of public information concerning facility enhancements fosters a sense of public distrust towards the government. Additionally, numerous facilities, which should be prioritized for improvement, have not received adequate attention. In contrast to several prior studies, the present study encompasses a broader scope and incorporates geotagging techniques to precisely identify the location of complaints and determine the optimal route to reach them. Moreover, an analysis process utilizing the VIKOR method has been devised to assess the priority of public facility improvements. This method yielded an accuracy rate of 89,7%, signifying a commendable level of precision and a 16% increase in accuracy based on confusion matrix method compared to previous studies. Through user usability testing, it was determined that the majority of users agreed that this system can facilitate public reporting, enable progress monitoring of public facility improvements, and aid in prioritizing such improvements.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of learning quality, time management and social support on the academic achievement of postgraduate students of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The method used in analysing research data is descriptive quantitative with a sample of 80 students. The sampling technique used is Non Probability Sampling technique. The results showed the Wald test results with a significance value of learning quality of 0.000 and social support of 0.021 smaller than the value of the error rate of 0.05. While time management with a significance value of 0.348 is greater than the error rate value of 0.05, meaning that time management has no correlation and has no significant effect on student academic achievement. The odds ratio value of learning quality (X1) is 18.283, this indicates that learning quality has an influence of 18.283 times greater on student academic achievement. Then the Odds ratio value of social support (X3) is 3.061, this shows that the effect of social support on student academic achievement is 3.061 times greater than if there is no social support. Meanwhile, variable (X2), namely time management, has no influence on student academic achievement. This is caused by students who do not have self-management skills or the ability to manage time. The implications of learning quality can be seen from students' understanding of the material presented, honing the courage to express opinions, increasing confidence in answering or asking questions and mental readiness and competence. The implication of social support is to reduce student stress and psychological pressure that can affect their academic performance.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the integration of Islamic values into the teaching of social arithmetic at the junior high school level through a contextual approach, to identify forms of Islamic value representation within the instructional module, and to explore students’ perceptions of mathematical understanding through an Islamic narrative-based approach. This qualitative descriptive research employed data collection techniques including document analysis of the module, semi-structured interviews, and limited classroom observation. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s model, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the module “Young Muslim Entrepreneur with Mathematics” successfully integrates Islamic values into social arithmetic content through meaningful storytelling and reflective learning activities. Islamic values are represented through selected Qur’anic verses, hadiths, contextual stories, calculation problems, and learning tasks aligned with sharia principles such as honesty, prohibition of usury (riba), zakat, and social responsibility. Students demonstrated improved conceptual understanding and increased motivation to learn mathematics through this integrative approach. The modules analyzed in this study are the results of the development of the theses of students in the Masters Program in Mathematics Education. These findings suggest that mathematics learning integrated with Islamic values not only enhances cognitive comprehension but also contributes to character formation and students’ spiritual awareness.

Abstract

Rembang Regency has little annual rainfall, ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 mm. The Capluk Watershed in Rembang is the only one with a discharge station. The average rainfall of the watershed in 2011 to 2020 is relatively low (1,877 mm/year). Moors are the dominant land use in the watershed, so the watershed is prone to drought. This study aims to assess the water balance and land use planning to reduce water deficits. The FJ Mock modeling method is used to understand hydrological phenomena, where the results can help manage water resources by regulating land use by utilizing the exposed surface parameters in the model. The results show that the demand for water in the watershed for the 2011 to 2020 period reaches an average of 49,151,012 m3/year, while the availability of water is 132,512,172 m3/year. This condition shows that the total water balance experiences an average surplus of 83,361,160 m3/year but experiences a deficit in the dry season, an average of 3,452,278 m3/year. For land use planning, scenario 5 (a combination of regionalspatial plan maps, forest area maps, general plan for forest and land rehabilitation maps, and land use in 2020) is the best in reducing the water deficit by 20,383,274 m3 or can lower the water deficit to 4,957,173 m3.

Abstract

Segara Anakan and its surrounding which is located in Cilacap Regency Central of Java, is the study area for this research. This region, like other estuaries, has a unique ecosystem which is protected and surrounded by the mangrove forest that can cause very dynamic development. In the upland, there are three big rivers flow; Citanduy, Cibeureum, and Cimeng. The main issue in this region is that the lagoon to become narrowing because of rapid sedimentation process. Landsat MSS, TM, and ETM of the years 1978, 1995, 1998, and 2003 are remote sensing data used in this research. An analysis in term of correlation between landuse/landcover changes and sedimentation was carried out by looking at their changes in the upper land especially along the rivers that have big contribution to the sedimentation in the lagoon. The result shows that there is high relation between landuse/landcover changes in the upper land and sedimentation around the lagoon.
