Abstract

This study was motivated by a problem found at SLB Negeri 1 Linggo Sari Baganti involving Grade III students with mild intellectual disabilities. The purpose of this research was to examine the improvement of beginning reading skills through the use of pictured syllable card media. The study employed a Single Subject Research (SSR) method with an A-B design. Phase (A) represented the initial condition before the intervention, while Phase (B) was the intervention phase where students received treatment using pictured syllable cards. The baseline phase (A) was conducted over three sessions. The intervention phase (B), using the pictured syllable card media, was conducted over nine sessions. The research results showed that in the baseline phase (A), the percentage scores were 12.5%, 12.5%, and 12.5%. In the intervention phase (B), the scores increased to 25%, 25%, 37.5%, 50%, 62.5%, 75%, and reached 100% in the final three sessions. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the use of pictured syllable cards during the intervention phase was effective in improving beginning reading skills in students with mild intellectual disabilities

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a digital learning medium in the form of a flipbook integrated with Indonesian Sign Language (Bisindo) to support the early reading skills of students with hearing impairments. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach, adopting a modified 4D model limited to three main stages: define, design, and develop. Data collection instruments included observation sheets, interview guides, expert validation questionnaires (covering media, content, and Bisindo), and student practicality questionnaires. Data were gathered through observation, interviews, and product trials, and analyzed using descriptive qualitative methods. The results demonstrated that the developed digital flipbook was considered valid by experts in terms of content accuracy, visual quality, and its relevance to the learning needs of deaf students. Practicality testing also showed positive responses, with students expressing increased engagement and improved comprehension of reading material through the integration of text, images, and Bisindo videos. The presence of communicative visual elements played a key role in creating a more meaningful and enjoyable learning experience. In conclusion, the Bisindo-based flipbook offers an effective alternative medium to enhance early reading instruction for deaf students in educational settings.

Abstract

For children with learning disabilities such as dyslexia, early reading skills often present a challenge that hinders literacy achievement. Difficulty recognizing letters and connecting sounds is a major obstacle in the learning process. Therefore, innovative, interactive, and adaptive learning media are needed to meet the child's specific needs. This research aims to develop the Bacara application as an interactive learning medium to improve early reading skills in children with dyslexia. The development process uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, and Implementation. Evaluation is limited to the Implementation stage due to time and condition limitations. The Bacara application is designed using Articulate Storyline software, equipped with material features, interactive quizzes, audio guides, and the use of dyslexia-friendly fonts. Data collection techniques and tools through observation, interviews, tests, and validation tests by media experts, material experts, and language experts. The results of the study indicate that the Bacara application is declared feasible in terms of content and appearance, practical in use, and has the potential to be used as a supporting medium in developing early reading skills in dyslexic children. This media is suitable for widespread use and is recommended to be accompanied by training for educators so that its use can run optimally according to the needs of children.

Abstract

This article discusses the effectiveness of the Bruner method in improving the ability to recognize number symbols in children with Down syndrome. The subject of this study was a child with Down syndrome who experienced difficulties in recognizing number symbols. This study used a quantitative approach with an experimental research method in the form of single subject research (SSR) with an A-B research design. The data collection technique in this study was a test. The data analysis technique used visual graphic analysis. This study was conducted in 19 meetings. The data obtained in each condition, namely the baseline phase, was carried out in 4 meetings with a percentage of 40%, 40%, 40%, 40%. In the intervention condition as many as 15 meeting with the percentage of each meeting obtained is 45%, 45%, 55%, 55%, 65%, 65%, 75%, 75%, 75%, 80%, 85%, 90%, 90%, 90%, 90%based on the results of the research that has been done proves that the Bruner method is effective in improving the ability to recognize number symbols in children with Down syndrome at SLB Autisma YPPA Solok.

Abstract

Beginning reading is an early stage ability that must be mastered. However, problems are still often found in elementary schools (SD), there are students who have difficulty reading the beginning. For this reason, appropriate solutions are needed so that students can be help improve their initial reading skills. At SD Negeri 02 Koto Tangah Tilatang Kamang, the teacher provides a solution related to the problem of students who have difficulty learning to read at the beginning by using interactive multimedia learning media RUBA (reading room) which has been proven to be effective. For this reason, it is necessary to conduct research to find out how the implementation of these media in learning to read begins. This research was conducted with a qualitative approach and the type of research was descriptive by collecting data through observation and interviews. The results of this study are the implementation of early reading learning based on interactive multimedia by the teacher can increase TPACK competence, especially competence in technology, which impacts the emergence of children’s enthusiasm in learning.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an instrument to measure the implementation of inclusive education in universities. The research was developed using mixed-methods approach which combines Theoretical Framework and Needs Assessment. The first stage of the research involved literature review to investigate the relevant instrument and references that support the development of instrument for measuring inclusive education in universities. The second stage was needs assessment conducted at universities in Padang. The subjects of the research were 47 university students from four universities in Padang. The data were analyzed using focus group discussion. The study of index for inclusion for higher education was compared to the results of the research. Findings of the research showed that there are five aspects needed to develop the instrument of index for inclusion in universities.

Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini berawal dari ditemukannya seorang peserta didik down syndrome di kelas VIII SLB Luak Nan Bungsu yang belum mampu menjumlahkan bilangan asli (1-9) dalam pembelajaran matematika fase D. Rumusan masalahnya adalah apakah aktivitas meronce manik-manik dapat meningkatkan kemampuan penjumlahan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan penjumlahan hingga hasil maksimal 10 melalui aktivitas meronce manik-manik, menggunakan pendekatan Single Subject Research (SSR) dengan desain A-B. Subjek adalah satu siswa laki-laki dengan keterbatasan dalam penjumlahan. Data diperoleh melalui observasi dan tes sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa sebelum intervensi, peserta didik hanya mampu menjawab 22,22%, namun setelah intervensi meningkat hingga 88,89%. Dengan demikian, aktivitas meronce terbukti efektif meningkatkan kemampuan penjumlahan dan dapat menjadi media pembelajaran konkret yang menyenangkan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan pemahaman kalimat perintah pada anak disabilitas intelektual ringan di SLB Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping. Masalah awal menunjukkan rendahnya pemahaman siswa terhadap kalimat perintah (nilai di bawah KKTP). Metode yang digunakan ialah penelitian tindakan kelas dua siklus, masing masing empat pertemuan, penelitian berkolaborasi bersama guru kelas. Subjek penelitian adalah guru kelas dan empat orang siswa disabilitas intelektual ringan. Hasil siklus I menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dari kondisi awal (MR 28.6%, AA 14.2%, DF 0%, AF 28.6%) menjadi rata rata diatas 80% pada akhir siklus. Peningkatan berlanjut pada siklus II, dengan sebagian besar siswa mencapai 100%. Disimpulkan bahwa permainan interaktif efektif meningkatkan pemahaman kalimat perintah pada anak disabilitas intelektual ringan, mengatasi keterbatasan kognitif dan bahas, serta meningkatkan motivasi belajar.

Abstract

Operasi penjumlahan merupakan landasan utama dalam sistem operasi hitung bilangan dan menjadi dasar pemahaman berbagai konsep matematika. Penjumlahan memiliki peranan penting karena digunakan secara luas dalam berbagai aktivitas kehidupan sehari-hari. Berdasarkan hasil observasi pada kegiatan Praktik Lapangan Kependidikan (PLK), ditemukan bahwa peserta didik dengan hambatan intelektual ringan di kelas VI masih mengalami kesulitan dalam melakukan penjumlahan bilangan dengan hasil sampai 10. Solusi yang digunakan adalah media papan hitung dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penjumlahan peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Pada kondisi awal, kemampuan penjumlahan siswa menunjukkan persentase sebesar 42%, yang termasuk dalam kategori kurang. Setelah pelaksanaan siklus I sebanyak empat pertemuan, terjadi peningkatan menjadi 68%. Selanjutnya, pada siklus II yang juga terdiri dari empat pertemuan, persentase capaian meningkat menjadi 96%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media papan hitung efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan penjumlahan pada peserta didik dengan disabilitas intelektual ringan, khususnya untuk operasi penjumlahan dengan hasil sampai 10.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh dua orang siswa Tungarhita Ringan (TR dan AJ) mengalami masalah dalam mengenal nama nama hari. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, peneliti menggunakan media flash card dalam pembelajaran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (classroom action research) yang terdiri II siklus. Peneliti berkolaborasi dengan guru kelas III yaitu buk Fines Afriani. Peneliti sebagai pemberi tindakan dan kolaborator sebagai pengamat. Siklus penelitian yang dilakukan terdiri dari  perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan observasi dan tes. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan kemampuan mengenal nama hari, kemampuan awal siswa TR 52 % dan AJ 55%. Siklus I TR meningkat menjadi 75% dan AJ meningkat menjadi 82%. Siklus II AJ lebih meningkat menjadi 93% dan AJ juga lebih meningkat menjadi 96%. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan mengenal nama hari pada anak tunagrahita ringan dapat ditingkatkan melalui media Flash Card.
