Abstract

This study investigates the critical determinants influencing the longevity of family businesses, particularly within the context of Money Changers in East Java, Indonesia. The research is grounded in the premise that sustained business success across generations depends on effective succession planning, successor preparation, family commitment, and the involvement of the controlling generation. Using a quantitative approach, the research employs PLS - SEM to analyze the relationships between variables. Data collected from 86 licensed Money Changers in East Java. Findings indicate that succession planning and family commitment significantly influence the involvement of the previous generation in transitioning leadership roles. The research underscores the pivotal role of the controlling generation in ensuring the continuity and stability of family businesses. Recommendations include detailed plans for identifying and preparing successors, enhancing family commitment, and increasing the involvement of the previous generation in decision-making processes. Strengthening these aspects is crucial for ensuring the resilience and long-term viability of family businesses, particularly in the Money Changers sector. Future research should expand its scope to encompass diverse regions and consider customer perspectives to shape robust strategies for sustained family business growth.

Abstract

Corporate sustainability has become a critical concern for stakeholders, emphasizing that management's focus should extend beyond short-term profit maximization to encompass the broader welfare of all stakeholders. Through the adoption of strategic philanthropic initiatives and the implementation of robust risk management practices, companies can address stakeholder expectations while strengthening their competitive position in dynamic market environments. This study aims to analyze the influence of corporate philanthropy and risk management on firm value. Utilizing a sample of 112 manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2022 period, this research employs regression analysis, preceded by classical assumption tests to ensure the validity and reliability of the data. The findings reveal that both corporate philanthropy and risk management have a significant positive effect on firm value, underscoring the importance of socially responsible practices and effective risk mitigation in fostering sustainable corporate growth and long-term stakeholder trust.

Abstract

Abstract

PT PLN (Persero) Project Management Center or called (PLN Pusmanpro) in carrying out its activities managing electricity project management, both power plant projects, transmission, substations and rehabilitation projects, opens opportunities for its employees to innovate in the fields of technology and information systems. The problems that arise in the implementation of the use of the Assignment Monitoring and Reporting System (SIMPP) are that the implementation of this application has been running since 2015 and is still using the old version, then there is no indicator that the use of SIMPP can provide work enthusiasm for employees, because the development of the use of information technology is rapidly changing and increasingly sophisticated, and the level of employee communication and innovation is still relatively poor because there are still limitations to the features in this SIMPP application. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of upskilling, communication and digital capability on employee performance with innovation as an intervening variable. This study uses a quantitative method with primary data sources obtained from distributing questionnaires. The population of this study were all employees at PLN Pusmanpro. The selection of respondents was carried out using the saturated non-probability sampling method with a total of 126 respondents. The data analysis method uses descriptive analysis and SEM-PLS analysis. The results of the study indicate that the variables of upskilling, communication and digital capability have a positive and significant effect on employee performance through employee innovation at PT PLN Pusmanpro.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of digital work flexibility and work-life balance on employee commitment and its impact on public service efficiency at the Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) of Surabaya City. Using a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design, data were collected from 115 civil servants through a structured questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using regression and mediation tests via Python-based statistical tools. The results indicate that both digital work flexibility and work-life balance significantly influence employee commitment. Furthermore, employee commitment fully mediates the relationship between the two independent variables and public service efficiency. This means that any improvements in work flexibility and balance will only lead to enhanced service performance if they are able to foster stronger employee commitment. The study highlights the importance of adaptive and human-centered work arrangements in improving service delivery in public sector institutions. These findings have practical implications for the design of flexible work policies and underscore the strategic role of psychological commitment in the effectiveness of digital transformation in public administration.
