Abstract

The ability of inorganic antibacterial agents like metal oxides and nanoscale inorganic materials to inhibit bacterial growth rates has yet to receive much research attention. In this study, CaCO3-ZnO/Y-zeolite nanocomposites were created utilizing coprecipitation and impregnation techniques with Ca(CH3COO)2, Zn(CH3COO)2 2H2O, Y-zeolite precursors. Physical and chemical characteristics of nanocomposites have been investigated using XRD, FTIR, and SEM-EDX characterizations. The agar-well diffusion method tested the substance for antibacterial activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Nanocomposites have a crystal size range of 35.46-36.53 nm and a crystallinity of 35-37 %, according to the results of XRD analysis. The carbonate groups are visible in FTIR data at wave numbers 1433, 875, and 712 cm-1. The Zn-O absorption band was verified at wave numbers 600-400 cm-1. The Y-zeolite absorption bands at wave numbers 1012-997 cm-1 and 745-746 cm-1 were confirmed. The particle morphology is cube-shaped with irregular sizes. The EDX result showed that the composition consists of 35.92 % calcium, 1.68 % zinc, 44.81 % oxygen, and 13.79 % carbon as elements. With the addition of 2.5 % Y-zeolite, the antibacterial activity of nanocomposites showed the best results, with an inhibition zone diameter of 7.62 mm against Escherichia coli and 6.56 mm against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an ethnoscience-based science teaching module on the forms of matter and their changes to improve elementary school students’ scientific literacy, as well as to determine its characteristics, feasibility, effectiveness, and practicality. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) design using the 4D model proposed by Thiagarajan, Semmel, and Semmel, consisting of the Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages. The module integrates local cultural knowledge from Bangka—such as traditional foods including martabak, jongkong cake, and es jeruk kunci—to contextualize scientific concepts for young learners. The results show that the developed module meets high validity standards, with Aiken’s V values of 0.88 for material experts, 0.86 for language experts, and 0.85 for media experts, all categorized as “very valid.” Effectiveness testing revealed an N-gain score of 0.80 (80%), indicating an effective improvement in students’ scientific literacy. Practicality assessments also demonstrated excellent results, with teacher responses averaging 95.31% and student responses 97.50%, both categorized as “very practical.” These findings indicate that the ethnoscience-based teaching module is valid, effective, and practical for enhancing scientific literacy in elementary school science learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara sistematis pengaruh penggunaan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis Problem-Based Learning (PBL) terhadap hasil belajar dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika. Fenomena rendahnya capaian pembelajaran matematika di Indonesia, serta kebutuhan mendesak akan pendekatan pembelajaran yang mendorong berpikir tingkat tinggi, menjadi latar belakang studi ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui metode Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan menelaah 30 artikel ilmiah nasional dan internasional yang dipublikasikan antara tahun 2019 hingga 2025. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik dokumentasi dari basis data seperti Google Scholar, SINTA, Garuda, dan DOAJ. Artikel yang terpilih dianalisis secara tematik dan naratif berdasarkan jenjang pendidikan, desain LKPD, dan capaian pembelajaran. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan LKPD berbasis PBL secara konsisten mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa serta mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, logis, dan reflektif. Temuan juga mengungkapkan peningkatan keaktifan, kemandirian belajar, serta motivasi siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Secara teoritis, hasil studi mendukung pendekatan konstruktivistik dan pembelajaran berpusat pada siswa. Implikasi penelitian ini mencakup penguatan kebijakan pendidikan berbasis bukti, pengembangan perangkat ajar yang kontekstual, serta pelatihan guru dalam desain dan implementasi LKPD PBL. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pengembangan LKPD berbasis digital dan studi longitudinal yang mencakup dimensi afektif dan psikomotorik untuk pemahaman yang lebih holistik.

Abstract

Abstrak Pelajaran IPA mencakup fisika, kimia, biologi, serta ilmu bumi dan antariksa yang disatukan untuk memberikan pemahaman menyeluruh tentang gejala alam dan prinsip ilmiah. Karena banyak konsep ilmia yang bersifat abstrak, peserta didik sering mengalami kesulitan dalam memahaminya. E-modul menjadi salah satu media pembelajaran yang efektif untuk membantu mengatasi hal tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi tren pengembangan e-modul pada pembelajaran IPA. Manfaatnya adalah untuk menemukan peluang riset yang dapat menjadi rujukan bagi peneliti lain dalam mengembangkan e-modul IPA di masa mendatang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Systematic Literature Review (SLR) terhadap 53 artikel dari jenjang SD hingga SMA, yang diperoleh melalui Google Scholar, Scopus, dan Mendeley Web. Artikel disaring berdasarkan tahun terbit (2020–2025) dan kesesuaian topik. Hasilnya menunjukkan: (1) e-modul IPA paling banyak dikembangkan di jenjang SD; (2) mayoritas penelitian berfokus pada peningkatan hasil belajar; (3) bidang yang dominan adalah IPA Tematik/IPAS; dan (4) Aplikasi paling dominan digunakan adalah Flip PDF Profesional.

Abstract

The use of interactive media has emerged as a viable way to improve the efficacy of science education. However, the use of various interactive media needs to be analyzed in depth regarding its effectiveness. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of various interactive media created and used in science teaching in elementary schools over the past five years is the purpose of this study. The research method used is literature review analysis through several related research publications published in domestic and foreign journals indexed by SINTA. According to the analysis of the findings of 25 articles, interactive media—including PhET simulations, multimedia centered on digital literacy, interactive applications, and animated films—have been successful. Thus, interactive media is effectively used for science learning in elementary schools. This study contributes at developing interactive, adaptive, innovative, creative, and efficient learning media according to learners' needs in order to enhance the quality of science education in elementary schools.

Abstract

Improving learning outcomes in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) at the elementary school level remains a challenge, particularly in fostering students’ conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills. Conventional instructional approaches often fail to optimally support these competencies, indicating the need for innovative learning strategies. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of mentoring-based interactive mind map media in enhancing elementary school students’ IPAS learning outcomes. A literature review method was employed by examining 241 articles retrieved from Google Scholar and Publish or Perish databases. Through an inclusion and exclusion process, 25 relevant national and international articles published between 2020 and 2025 were selected for analysis. The findings reveal that the integration of interactive mind maps with mentoring consistently contributes to improved learning outcomes, student engagement, conceptual clarity, and critical thinking abilities. The effectiveness of this approach is strongly influenced by systematic instructional planning and teachers’ readiness to function as mentors. In conclusion, mentoring-based interactive mind map media represent a promising and innovative instructional alternative for IPAS learning in elementary schools. This study contributes theoretically by synthesizing evidence on integrated visual and mentoring-based learning, and practically by providing insights for educators in designing more effective IPAS instruction.

Abstract

Penggunaan PCC sebagai agen antibakteri menawarkan peluang besar karena termasuk bahan yang kompatibel, mudah terurai secara hayati, dan ukuran partikel yang kecil. Sintesis PCC yang dikombinasikan dengan surfaktan diharapkan dapat menghasilkan PCC dengan ukuran nanokristal dan mempunyai aktivitas antibakteri yang baik terhadap bakteri Escherichia coli. PCC termodifikasi surfaktan PEG, sukrosa dan lerak disintesis menggunakan metode hidrotermal dan dikarakterisasi menggunakan FTIR, XRD, PSA, SEM-EDX, serta duji aktivitas antibakteri dengan metode sumuran terhadap bakteri Escherichia coli. Hasil FTIR menunjukkan adanya gugus karbonat dari PCC pada bilangan gelombang 875 dan 713 cm-1. Krisnalinitas PCC termodifikasi surfaktan kisaran 34-37% dengan ukuran kristal antara 400-1800 nm. PCC yang terbentuk berupa fasa calcite dengan struktur rhombohedral. Hasil uji aktivitas antibakteri menunjukkan bahwa PCC-sukrosa memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terbaik yaitu 11,91 mm seiring dengan semakin kecil kristalinitas dan ukuran kristal yag dihasilkan.

Abstract

Artikel ini merupakan kajian pustaka yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas papan rantai makanan sebagai media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep IPA di kalangan siswa sekolah dasar kelas V. Media pembelajaran visual seperti papan rantai makanan diyakini dapat membantu siswa dalam memahami hubungan antar organisme hidup dalam suatu ekosistem secara konkret dan kontekstual. Penelitian ini menganalisis berbagai temuan penelitian sebelumnya yang menunjukkan penggunaan media visual interaktif dapat meningkatkan minat belajar, partisipasi aktif, dan pemahaman materi siswa. Analisis menunjukkan bahwa papan rantai makanan sangat efektif dalam mendukung pembelajaran konsep IPA, karena memberikan visualisasi yang jelas dan mendorong keterlibatan siswa secara aktif dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

Pencemaran air akibat limbah zat warna seperti methylene blue (MB) merupakan masalah lingkungan yang serius di Indonesia. MB banyak digunakan dalam industri tekstil, kosmetik, dan farmasi, dapat menurunkan kualitas air serta menimbulkan dampak negatif terhadap kesehatan manusia dan ekosistem. Fotokatalisis berbasis ZnO merupakan metode yang menjanjikan untuk mendekontaminasi air, namun keterbatasan penyerapan cahaya mengurangi efektivitasnya. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi sintesis hijau ZnO menggunakan ekstrak nanas melalui metode presipitasi, dengan tujuan meningkatkan karakteristik dan aktivitas fotokatalitik. Selain itu, ZnO dikombinasikan dengan karbon aktif (KA) dari sekam padi dengan metode impregnasi untuk meningkatkan kinerjanya. Karakterisasi fotokatalis dilakukan menggunakan XRD, FTIR, dan BET untuk mengevaluasi sifat kristalinitas, gugus fungsi, dan luas permukaan material. Hasil XRD menunjukkan ZnO memiliki struktur wurtzit heksagonal dengan ukuran kristal 27,01 nm, sedangkan ZnO/KA memiliki ukuran 20,24 nm dengan struktur wurtzit heksagonal untuk ZnO dan struktur grafit untuk karbon. Hasil FTIR mengonfirmasi keberadaan ikatan Zn–O, C–H, dan O–H, sedangkan hasil BET menunjukkan bahwa ZnO/KA memiliki kurva distribusi pori tipe II dengan pori makro. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penambahan karbon aktif secara signifikan meningkatkan efisiensi fotodegradasi MB pada berbagai pH, dengan ZnO/karbon aktif (3:1) (b/b) mencapai kinerja tertinggi, mengurangi kadar MB hingga 99,81% pada pH 8.Degradation Efficiency of Methylene Blue Using Green-Synthesized ZnO Photocatalyst with Pineapple Extract and Rice Husk-Derived Activated Carbon. Water pollution caused by dye waste, such as methylene blue (MB), is a serious environmental issue in Indonesia. Widely used in the textile, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries, can degrade water quality and negatively impact human health and ecosystems. ZnO based photocatalysis is a promising method for water decontamination, but its limited light absorption reduces efficiency. This study explores the green synthesis of ZnO using pineapple extract via precipitation method to enhance its characteristics and photocatalytic activity. Additionally, ZnO was combined with activated carbon (AC) derived from rice husks through an impregnation to improve performance further. XRD, FTIR, and BET characterization confirmed the crystallinity, functional groups, and surface area properties. XRD analysis showed a hexagonal wurtzite structure for ZnO with a crystal size of 27.01 nm, while ZnO/AC had a size of 20.24 nm with both wurtzite and graphite structures. FTIR results verified Zn–O, C–H, and O–H bonds, and BET analysis indicated a type II macroporous distribution. Photodegradation tests revealed that ZnO/AC (3:1) (w/w) achieved the highest efficiency, reducing MB concentration by 99.81% at pH 8. These findings demonstrate that activated carbon significantly enhances the photocatalytic performance of ZnO, offering a sustainable approach for dye wastewater treatment.

Abstract

This study analyzes the trends and effectiveness of Augmented Reality (AR) in elementary mathematics education from 2019 to 2025. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted on 30 indexed articles selected using the PRISMA 2020 protocol. The findings reveal that 55% of the studies were conducted in Indonesia, indicating a strong geographical concentration. Quantitatively, the reviewed studies reported significant learning improvements, as evidenced by p-values below 0.05, effectiveness rates of up to 91%, user satisfaction reaching 95.6%, media feasibility scores ranging from 81% to 99%, and one study reporting a high N-Gain value of 0.90. In addition, AR was found to enhance conceptual understanding, geometric ability, spatial reasoning, and learning motivation, while also reducing students’ cognitive load. Despite its positive impact, several challenges remain, including variations in teacher readiness, infrastructure limitations, and the lack of long-term evaluation studies. Overall, AR functions not only as a visualization tool but also as a catalyst for more interactive, immersive, and student-centered mathematics learning. Future research is recommended to employ longitudinal designs, broaden participant contexts, and develop more adaptive AR-based learning models to strengthen empirical evidence in primary mathematics education.
