Abstract

The study in this article describes the application of regulations on the use of the Indonesian language on trademarks already contained in Law Number 24 of 2009 which is supported by PERMENDAG No. 73/M-Dag/Per/9/2015 on local fashion products that enter the international market. The aim is to map the application of the use of the Indonesian language that has been carried out by local fashion products that are worldwide because it can help efforts to develop Indonesian into an international language. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analytical specifications and aims to provide a comprehensive, detailed and systematic description. The data is taken from the official website pages of two local fashion product brands that are worldwide, Buttonscarves and Erigo. It was found that Buttonscarves did not fulfill the application of the use of the Indonesian language regarding the trademark name due to the use of the English word to make the Buttonscarves brand more easily accepted in the international market, while for Erigo it cannot be said that it is fulfilled/not because it is not part of the Indonesian word contained in in the Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia (KBBI).

Abstract

This paper is motivated by the condition of students who lack Literacy and Critical Reasoning in the learning process and learning outcomes that are still many under KKM because teachers are less familiar with several methods and have yet to use the Flipped Classroom Model. This study aims to improve Reading Comprehension and Critical Thinking using the Flipped Classroom model. This research was conducted in class V of SDN Cibabat Mandiri 1 Cimahi City. This study uses quantitative research methods with the Quasi Experiment Design model using observation, interview, pretest, posttest, and documentation assisted by SPSS 29.0 to calculate the data obtained. With a population of 74 students. The technique used is collecting data on this test method before and after treatment. A live question-and-answer technique was used to find out the test results from the study. After that, samples were taken for the Experimental class, namely the VA class with 37 students and the VB class as the control class with 37 students, so a total of 74 students. Based on the Hypothesis Test results, there is a viable data variant after treatment. The data collection techniques used were observation, interview, pretest, and posttest. The results showed a significant influence on the use of flipped classrooms to improve the reading comprehension and critical thinking skills of grade V students of SDN Cibabat Mandiri 1 Cimahi City. Based on the results of the independent sample T-test, Sig was obtained. (2-tailed) Alternatively, (Significance Two Side-p) of 0.001 > 0.05 means Ho is rejected, and Ha is accepted. This is supported by the average score of the experimental class of 81.16 and the control class of 72.64.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi pemahaman bahasa dengan mengkaji penerapan praktis Project Based Learning (PjBL) dalam mata kuliah wajib umum. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi kualitatif untuk melakukan pengamatan menyeluruh terhadap dampak pengalaman proyek terhadap pemahaman bahasa siswa. Penelitian ini melibatkan 30 koresponden yang memberikan informasi berharga tentang bagaimana proyek ini dapat meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa dan dampak model PjBL dalam konteks mata kuliah wajib umum. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman bahasa, keterlibatan aktif siswa, dan penggabungan kemampuan bahasa dalam proses pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengalaman proyek mengarah pada peningkatan pemahaman bahasa, keterlibatan aktif, dan integrasi kemampuan bahasa. Penerapan Pembelajaran Berbasis Proyek (PjBL) memberikan pengaruh yang positif terhadap pengembangan kemampuan berbicara, motivasi belajar, dan integrasi berbagai keterampilan berbahasa. Perspektif siswa terhadap mata kuliah wajib umum menekankan pentingnya menetapkan dasar-dasar yang kuat, menerima instruksi eksplisit, dan menghubungkan materi dengan tugas-tugas praktis. Rekomendasi dan umpan balik ditawarkan untuk meningkatkan proses integrasi, mendorong pembelajaran berbasis proyek, dan meningkatkan kualitas materi mata kuliah wajib umum. Penelitian ini memiliki potensi untuk pengembangan strategi pembelajaran yang lebih efisien dalam meningkatkan pemahaman bahasa. Hal ini dapat dicapai dengan mengintegrasikan pengalaman berbasis proyek dengan model PjBL dalam kerangka mata kuliah wajib umum.

Abstract

The appreciation of fictional prose can be used to shape the ethics and morals of students. Various approaches and learning models have been developed to help sharpen students' skills in appreciating fictional prose, although satisfactory results have not been achieved overall. Therefore, the aim of this research is to design a learning concept that has the potential to enhance students' capabilities in understanding and appreciating fictional prose. The research data is sourced from 12 articles obtained through Google Scholar, Sage Journals, Taylor and Francis, ProQuest, and Scopus databases. The articles used as data sources are related to the appreciation of fiction prose, flipped classrooms, and problem-based learning. Data collection and analysis were conducted using the read-note-analyze technique. The research findings affirm that a problem-based learning approach, combined with the implementation of a flipped classroom design, holds significant potential for improving students' appreciation skills of fictional prose and can be efficiently applied in the learning process. Furthermore, this model accommodates the use of technology in learning and facilitates group work among students.

Abstract

Bahasa Indonesia merupakan bahasa persatuan yang digunakan diseluruh Indonesia sebagai bahasa resmi dalam bernegara. Pelatihan bagi aparatur pemerintahan adalah proses pendidikan non formal yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi yang dimiliki. Bahan Ajar adalah panduan yang dipakai dalam aktifitas pelatihan akan menggunakan bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa formal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjadikan bahasa Indonesia yang digunakan dalam pelatihan sebagai bahasa utama dalam proses pembelajaran menggunakan panduan bahan ajar. Metode yang digunakan adalah literature review yang menggunakan referensi terkait pelatihan. Hasil penelitian menjadi bahan ajar acuan dalam pelaksanan pelatihan bagi aparatur pemerintah. Implikasinya seluruh pelaksana pelatihan aparatur pemerintah akan memiliki komunikasi penggunaan bahasa Indonesia yang sama.

Abstract

Abstract The background of this research is that students' literacy skills are still low, especially students' reading comprehension competence and reading interest which is quite worrying. The aim of this research is to obtain a comprehensive picture of the influence of the Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) assisted by classpoint and wordwall on reading comprehension abilities in terms of students' reading interest. The sample in this research was class II students at SDN Santaka, Cimanggung District, Sumedang Regency. The method used is an experiment with a 2 x 2 factorial design. The research results are as follows: 1) Learning to read comprehension using the PWIM model assisted by classpoint and wordwall is included in the quite effective category. 2) Based on the Two Ways Anova test, a sig value of 0.045 ˂ 0.05 is obtained, which can be concluded that there is a difference in the increase in reading comprehension ability between students with the PWIM model assisted by classpoint and wordwall. 3) Based on the Test of Between Subject Effect, a sig value of 0.424 ˃ 0.05 is obtained, it means that no significant difference between students' reading comprehension abilities in terms of reading interest. Students' reading interest has no effect on their reading comprehension ability. Students who have low reading interest do not necessarily have low reading comprehension abilities, nor do students who have high reading interest necessarily have high reading comprehension abilities. 4) Based on the calculation of the interaction effect, a sig value of 0.026 ˂ 0.05 is obtained, it means that there is an interaction effect between the reading model and reading interest on increasing students' reading comprehension abilities. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that learning using the PWIM model assisted by classpoint and wordwall media is quite effective in being implemented for students who have different reading interests (low reading interest and high reading interest). Keywords: Reading Comprehension; Students' Reading Interest; Picture Word Inductive Model; Classpoint; Wordwall Abstrak Latar belakang penelitian ini yaitu kemampuan literasi siswa masih rendah, terutama pada kompetensi membaca pemahaman dan minat baca siswa yang cukup memprihatinkan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk memperoleh gambaran secara komprehensif mengenai pengaruh Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) berbantuan classpoint dan wordwall terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman ditinjau dari minat baca siswa. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas II SDN Santaka Kecamatan Cimanggung Kabupaten Sumedang. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan desain faktorial 2 x 2. Hasil penelitian sebagai berikut: 1) Pembelajaran membaca pemahaman dengan model PWIM berbantuan classpoint dan wordwall termasuk ke dalam kategori cukup efektif. 2) Berdasarkan pengujian Two Ways Anova diperoleh nilai sig sebesar 0,045 ˂ 0,05 artinya terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman antara siswa dengan model PWIM berbantuan classpoint dan wordwall. 3) Berdasarkan Test of Between Subject Effect diproleh nilai sig sebesar 0,424 ˃ 0,05 artinya tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa ditinjau dari minat baca. Minat baca siswa tidak berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman. Siswa yang memiliki minat baca rendah belum tentu memiliki kemampuan membaca pemahaman rendah begitupun siswa yang memiliki minat baca tinggi belum tentu memiliki kemampuan membaca pemahaman tinggi. 4) Berdasarkan penghitungan efek interaksi diperoleh nilai sig sebesar 0,026 ˂ 0,05, artinya terdapat efek interaksi antara model membaca dengan minat baca terhadap peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model PWIM berbantuan media classpoint dan wordwall cukup efektif diimplementasikan pada siswa yang memiliki minat baca yang berbeda (minat baca rendah dan minat baca tinggi). Abstract

This research is motivated by the limited availability of digital module teaching materials, especially in critical listening learning. This study aims to produce critical listening learning modules that are structured on the principles of systematic, active, contextual, technological, integrative (SAKTI). This principle is formulated by researchers from various critical listening learning theories and the development of teaching materials that are relevant to current needs. The digital teaching materials are arranged to contain materials, listening materials, exercises, and evaluations in one teaching material. The research was conducted by applying the research procedure proposed by Tomlinson in 2012. The module was developed using the Flip Pdf Professional Application Version 2.4.9.41, Quizzes, Canva, Google Form, Ms. Word, Dolby On, Nitro Pdf. The module consists of 3 main components, namely the introductory, core, and closing sections. This study uses R&D methods with stages Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, & Evaluations. Based on the results of product trials, it is known that the use of the designed product provides several advantages, among which it makes the learning process practical, can be used anywhere and at any time, helps guided or independent learning, helps online and offline learning, encourages students to actively complete each stage of learning and can be a means of obtaining new information for students.

Abstract

The application of approaches in foreign language learning has become related to the learning process in recent years. Genre-based approach is an approach in language learning that focuses on the understanding and production of texts based on genres and is commonly used for learning writing skills. This study aims to describe the results of thematic literature review on the effect of Genre-based approach on the development of learners' writing performance, the challenges faced by teachers and learners in the implementation of Genre-based approach, and learners' perspectives on genre-based approach for foreign language writing skills. This research uses a thematic literature review method by reviewing scientific research articles related to the topic discussed. The articles were selected through Google Scholar and Researchgate channels in the last 5 years since this research was conducted with 30 articles that met the set criteria. The results of this study found that the Genre Based approach to foreign language writing skills has a positive influence in improving writing performance and motivating writing for learners. However, in its implementation, there are challenges in that it takes a lot of time, teachers are less adaptable so that in some cases the results achieved don’t show significant changes.

Abstract

Abstract. There are several issues faced by beginner French learners in learning speaking skills. Students are difficult to learn and pronounce French words correctly. They still read texts to perform monologues as well. Meanwhile, they are required to have speaking skills that focus on general situations in daily life. According to these issues, a different approach is needed to improve their language skills. Therefore, this study discusses the utilization of digital-based mind map in improving French speaking skills. The purpose of this study was to determine how the Xmind application is used to create mind map in the classroom and find out the students' speaking skills after the implementation of it. This study uses a pre-experimental method with quantitative approach and One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The participants in this study were students of the French Language Education at one of the universities in Indonesia. The implementation of the mind mapping method by the Xmind application in speaking skills was carried out by creating a monologue with specified theme. According to the results of data analysis, there was an improvement in students' speaking skills after the implementation of the mind mapping method by the Xmind application. This is indicated by an increase in the average score of speaking skills which in the pre-test was 62.2/100 to 83.9/100 in the post-test. Furthermore, the results of the questionnaire analysis showed that there are many advantages of this method implementation. The majority of participants (85.5%) stated that the mind mapping method helped in enhancing vocabulary for speaking French and in general (76.3%), students stated that implementing the mind mapping method by the Xmind application helped them to improve their memory.Keywords: Mind Mapping; French Speaking Skills; Xmind; Learning Method
