Abstract

The enrichment program is an additional effort or activity given to students who have achieved complete learning with the aim of increasing students' understanding and insight into the material being or has been studied. In carrying out the enrichment program, teachers can use enrichment materials as learning resources, one of which is a biology magazine. This study aims to develop a biology magazine as an enrichment material to increase students' understanding and insight into the hormone system sub-material. This type of research is an R&D research that uses an adaptation of the 4D Thiagarajan model, namely define, design, and development. The data sources for this research consisted of 36 students from Christian High School Immanuel Pontianak and SMA Santo Fransiskus Asisi Pontianak, 3 biology teachers from these schools, and 3 lecturers of Biology Education FKIP UNTAN. The results of the analysis of student needs indicate that it is necessary to develop a biology magazine in order to motivate students to increase their understanding and insight. The results of the feasibility test can be seen that biological magazines are suitable for use as material for enrichment of the hormone system sub-material, this is indicated by the Aiken's V value obtained 0.79.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kelayakan media buku saku sebagai media pembelajaran submateri kelainan pada sistem ekskresi kelas XI SMA berdasarkan hasil uji ekstrak daun pasak bumi dalam menghambat pertumbuhan Staphylococcus aureus. Media buku saku divalidasi oleh dua orang validator dengan menilai beberapa aspek yaitu aspek format, isi dan bahasa. Analisis validasi dilakukan dengan cara menghitung skor yang diberikan oleh dua orang validator menggunakan rumus validitas isi. Hasil analisis validasi media buku saku dinyatakan valid dengan nilai 1,00. Kesimpulannya media buku saku submateri kelainan pada sistem ekskresi layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility of flash flipbook as a medium for sub blood material learning. The research method is descriptive with survey and the research instrument is a validation sheet. The feasibility of flash flipbook was measured through material validity test and media validity test. The validation aspect of flash flipbook material consists of format, content, and language. The aspect of media validation from flash flipbook consists of general aspects, soft engineering, visual engineering, and audio communication. The results of flash flipbook validation obtained an average value of validation by material experts 3.35 valid criteria and the average value of validation by media experts 3.42 valid criteria. It can be concluded that flipbook flash is suitable to be used as a learning medium on sub blood material.

Abstract

Blue Economy adalah usaha memanfaatkan  potensi sumber daya laut berbasis lingkungan dalam menunjang pertumbuhan ekonomi masyarakat wilayah pesisir. Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) sebagai bagian dari program Kedaireka Matching Fund Direktorat Pendidikan Tinggi ini, dilakukan di wilayah Lemukutan untuk tujuan meningkatkan keterampilan  dan kesejahteraan masyarakat pesisir  melalui kegiatan Implementasi Blue Economy Melalui  Kegiatan  Budi Daya Rumput Laut E. cottonii di Wilayah Pesisir . Budidaya E. cottonii dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan metode longline, melibatkan sebanyak 15 orang mahasiswa dari berbagai program studi di lingkungan Universitas Tanjungpura serta 10 orang masyarakat setempat, selama 4 bulan berkegiatan. Kesuksesan usaha  budidaya rumput laut sangat tergantung pada pemilihan lahan dengan parameter lingkungan yang mendukung pertumbuhan dan perkembangan rumput laut, teknik serta metode budidaya yang sesuai. Kegiatan PKM ini menggunakan metode ceramah, simulasi di darat kemudian dilanjutkan dengan praktek langsung menanam rumput laut E. cottonii di wilayah perairan Lemukutan. Dari hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan kemampuan masyarakat menggunakan metode long line dalam budidaya rumput laut E. cottonii sudah sangat memadai, dengan pengamatan selama 50 hari menunjukkan pertumbuhan relatifve sebesar 220,50%, dan  pertumbuhan harian 3.36 %. Penanaman rumput laut harus memperhitungkan intensitas matahari untuk memaksimalkan berlangsungnya fotosintesis serta menghindari penanaman di masa menjelang ekstrim di mana terjadi curah hujan tinggi dan gelombang laut yang kuat. Blue Economy Implementation Through Eucheuma cottonii Seaweed Cultivation Activities in the Coastal Area of ??Lemukutan Island  Blue Economy is an effort to exploit the potential of marine resources based on the environment in supporting the economic growth of coastal communities. Community Service (PKM) as part of the Directorate of Higher Education's Kedaireka Matching Fund program, is carried out in the Lemukutan area for the purpose of improving the skills and welfare of coastal communities through Blue Economy Implementation activities through E. cottonii Seaweed Cultivation Activities in the Coastal Area. The cultivation of E. cottonii was carried out using the longline method, involving as many as 15 students from various study programs at Tanjungpura University and 10 local people, for 4 months of activities. The success of seaweed farming is highly dependent on the selection of land with environmental parameters that support the growth and development of seaweed, appropriate cultivation techniques and methods. This PKM activity used the lecture method, simulations on land and then continued with direct practice of planting E. cottonii seaweed in the waters of Lemukutan. The results of this activity show that the community's ability to use the long line method in cultivating E. cottonii seaweed is very adequate, with observations for 50 days showing a relative growth of 220.50% and a daily growth of 3.36%. Seaweed planting must take into account the intensity of the sun to maximize photosynthesis and avoid planting at extreme times when there is high rainfall and strong sea waves.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan booklet sebagai media belajar tentang interaksi makhluk hidup dan lingkungannya. Metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif. Booklet ini didukung oleh dua validator. Validasi booklet dilakukan dengan menggunakan lembar validasi 12 kriteria, sedangkan aspek yang dinilai meliputi aspek format, isi, dan bahasa. Hasil validasi kemudian dianalisis menggunakan perhitungan Gregory. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa validitas aspek format, isi dan bahasa masing-masing aspek adalah 1,00 dan rata-rata validitas ketiga aspek tersebut adalah 1,00 dengan kategori sangat tinggi. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa booklet ini layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran tentang interaksi makhluk hidup dan lingkungannya di kelas VII SMP.

Abstract

Saat ini jumlah wirausaha di Indonesia baru mencapai 3,3% populasi dan masih tertinggal dari beberapa negara. Mengingat rendahnya tingkat wirausaha di Indonesia dan kemudahan teknologi pada zaman ini seharusnya mengembangkan ide dan inovasi baru bukanlah hal sulit bagi kalangan muda khususnya mahasiswa. Dengan adanya teknologi pada zaman sekarang mahasiswa diharapkan mampu membangun jiwa kewirausahaan. Salah satu usaha yang dapat dilakukan untuk melahirkan wirausaha khususnya dari kalangan mahasiswa adalah dengan mendorong lembaga pendidikan untuk memasukkan pendidikan kewirausahaan dalam kurikulum dan melakukan usaha selain perkuliahan misalnya dengan webinar. Webinar kewirausahaan dengan tema “Show Up Your Mind to Be a Success Entrepreneur” dilakukan dengan tujuan agar dapat menambah minat, motivasi, dan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam berwirausaha. Metode yang dilakukan dalam webinar ini antara lain adalah sosialisasi, penyampaian materi, dan tanya jawab serta diskusi. Kegiatan webinar di fokuskan bagi alumni dan mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Universitas Tanjungpura. Secara umum, kegiatan webinar dikategorikan sukses dan berjalan dengan baik dibuktikan dengan jumlah peserta yang hadir dan antusias peserta webinar pada saat sesi disukusi dan tanya jawab.

Abstract

The habit of people who live in cities and villages likes instant smells, for example, consuming soft drinks. One of the soft drinks popular in the community is carbonated drinks. This study aims to determine the effect of carbonated drinks on blood glucose levels of mice. This study used 21 male mice Balb C strain aged 2-3 months, which was divided into 3 groups, namely K1 given aquadest dose of 0.86 ml / 20 g body weight. K2 is given a carbonated drink dose of 0.43 ml / 20 g body weight. K3 was given a carbonated drink dose of 0.86 ml / 20 g body weight. All treatments were given for 14 days. The average increase in blood glucose levels of mice in KI, K2, and K3 were 16.71 mg / dl, 11.63 mg / dl, and 67.59, respectively (P<0.05). The results of the study showed that there was an increase in blood glucose levels in all treatments. However, the highest increase in blood glucose levels is in K3 (67.59 mg / dl). From the results of the study, it was concluded that carbonated drinks can affect blood glucose levels in mice, but this increase is still within normal limits.

Abstract

The present study was conducted to investigate the hepatoprotective activity of ethanolic extract of dog fruit rind (Pithecellobium lobatum benth.) against carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) induced hepatotoxicity in rats. Male Wistar albino rats were randomly divided into four groups and administered orally with 50 mg/200 g body weight of dog fruit rind extract (K1), 100 mg/200 g body weight (K2) of dog fruit rind extract, 5 mg/200 g body weight of silymarin (K3/positive control), and 0.4 mL/200 g body weight of distilled water (K4/negative control), for seven days The levels of alanine transaminase (ALT) of each K1; K2; K3; and K4 were 143.40±83.75 U/L, 94.80±93.77 U/L, 130.20±58.54 U/L and 147.25±107.97 U/L, respectively, while the aspartate transaminase (AST) levels were 304.20±128.67 U/L; 213.20±88.93 U/L; 333.00±128.31 U/L; and 239.25 ± 94.90 U/L, respectively (P0.05). Group K2 showed better histological pattern than other groups with 60% of mild and 40% of moderate liver damage. Our findings revealed the hepatoprotective activity of the ethanolic extract of dog fruit rind.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui gangguan fungsi hati yang terjadi akibat pemberian karbon tetraklorida (CCl4) pada berbagai tingkatan dosis terhadap induk bunting. Karbon tetraklorida dosis tunggal 0,014 dan 0,14 ml/20 g bobot badan mencit diberikan secara intraperitoneum pada mencit bunting, lalu diamati kerusakan yang terjadi pada hati. Kerusakan hati ditandai dengan peningkatan kadar enzim alanin transaminase (ALT), aspartat transaminase (AST) dalam serum, dan gambaran histopatologi hati. Dibandingkan dengan kont rol, pemberian CCl4 dosis 0,014 ml/20 g bobot badan mengakibatkan peningkatan ALT dan AST, bahkan pada dosis 0,14 ml/20 g bobot badan mengakibatkan induk mati dalam waktu kurang dari 24 jam setelah perlakuan. Gambaran histopatologis sel-sel hati pada kelompok mencit bunting yang mendapatkan CCl4 0,014 ml/20 g bobot badan menunjukkan terjadinya steatosis. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian karbon tetraklorida pada induk bunting menimbulkan kerusakan seiring peningkatan dosis yang diinduksikan, bahkan berakibat kematian .

Abstract

This study aims to find out the eeffect of Eurycoma longifolia Jack. roots on the liver damage of pregnant mice. This research used Balb/cstrain mice, 2-3 month, with the weight ranging of 27-33 gram. Samples were divided into three treatment groups consisted of three mice. GroupI (KI) was negative control (placebo), only treated with 0.06 ml/20 g bw of distilled water, group II (KII) was administered with roots ofEurycoma longifolia Jack extract at dose of 14 mg/20 g bw, and group III (KIII, positive control) was administered with Schizandrae at the dose0.06 mg/20 g bw. Treatment were done for 7 consecutive days in pregnancy period. On day 8th, blood samples were collected to examine the levelof alanine transaminase (AST) and aspartate transaminase (ALT) enzymes in serum and liver organ were collected to observe thehistopathological changes. The average of ALT and AST enzymes level on K1, K2, and K3 were 18.34+0.28, 19.68+0.15, and 19.20+0.08 U/l; and21.79+0.26, 23.42+0.41, and 22.23+0.52 U/l. The histopathological examination results showed that the administration of E. longifolia Jackroots extract and Schizandrae reveal the karyomegali and fatty change of hepatocytes. It is concluded that the administration of E. longifoliaJack roots extract at the dose of 14 mg/20 g bw could decrease the liver function of pregnant mice.
