Abstract

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a severe acute respiratory syndrome caused by the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. This disease progresses through different stages, and its common symptoms include fever, malaise, dry cough, dyspnea, and pneumonia. Since its discovery in Wuhan, Hubei, China, in December 2019, SARS-CoV-2 transmission has rapidly spread. Unfortunately, the number of cases is increasing beyond expectations, making the spread of confirmed COVID-19 cases easier. To detect specific symptoms in a large population, the relationship between gene variants and patients with COVID-19 can be determined. The data of COVID-19 variations can be obtained from the Ensembl Genome Browser. Herein, the gene associated with 19 variants was selected according to the Haploreg 4.1 version. Additionally, protein expression of missense genes variants using the GTEx portal to determine 2 selected variants: rs200553089 encode the TLR7 gene and rs1061622 encode the TNFRSF1B gene, respectively. The highest protein expression of the TLR7 gene is found in lymphocyte cells, while TNFRSF1B shows the highest expression in the whole blood system. According to the data obtained from the Ensembl Genome Browser, the two most prevalent populations for SNP rs19085059, which is associated with the GPHN gene, are in Africa and East Asia, while SNP rs74956615, linked to the RAVER1 gene, is most prevalent in East Asia. The allele frequency for the TLR7 gene cannot be found in five countries, except in America. Keywords: COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, Single nucleotide polymorphism, Variants.

Abstract

Background: High maternal morbidity and mortality are brought on by the worldwide public health issue of iron and folic acid deficient anemia. The risk to pregnant women’s and their unborn children’s health is reduced when they correctly get and take iron and folic acid supplements. However, people’s inability to adhere to the supplement frequently results in an immense burden. Objective: This analysis focused on describing the field of adherence to iron among pregnant mothers with anemia using bibliometric analysis of the literature from 1981 to 2022 and on analyzing the scientific trends. Methods: We used Scopus as the search engine, using the keywords: Adherence OR Compliance AND Pregnancy OR Pregnant women AND Iron OR Ferrous AND anemia. English journal articles from journals were selected. Results: We retrieved 360 documents during 1981-2022. The result showed trends topics mentioned, mostly pregnancy, anemia, and iron supplementation. The most published articles were from Australia and USA, with Quartal 1 source as the most relevant journal. Conclusion: Although the quantity of publications has increased regularly, it remains below 40 each year. The topic intervention or experimental study, or adherence were still low. Some countries with significantly increased anemia in the last ten years, with the number of publications and collaboration studies remaining high. The modest number indicates that researchers still have many chances to develop better, more productive techniques to enhance adherence and decrease anemia.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia, including Yogyakarta, has created a psychological impact on the community. One of the psychological impacts is depression. This issue can be overcome by early detecting depression using an instrument called the World Health Organization-Five Well-Being Index (WHO-5). Unfortunately, this instrument is currently unavailable in the Indonesian version. Therefore, this study aims to obtain a valid and reliable Indonesian version of the WHO-5, which can later be used by pharmacists as an instrument to early detect depression in Indonesia, especially in Yogyakarta. This research employed a cross-sectional design. The research subjects were people who visited Apotek UAD 1 and 2, who met the inclusion and were not included in the exclusion criteria. The WHO-5 questionnaire proceeded through a translation process from the English version to the Indonesian version. The original version of the WHO-5 questionnaire, which was the final translated version, was tested on 40 respondents to gain its validity and reliability. The analysis of the validity test using the Pearson Correlation of five questions on the WHO-5 questionnaire has revealed an average value of r = 1, indicating that the questionnaire is valid. The result of the reliability test with Cronbach Alpha is 0.853. In conclusion, the Indonesian version of the WHO-5 questionnaire meets the validity and reliability criteria so that the questionnaire can apply to the community.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) has developed as a major public health problem in the world. It is estimated that around 50% of diabetics have not been diagnosed in Indonesia, and only two-thirds of those diagnosed are undergoing treatment. This condition must be prevented. The purpose of this study was to determine the validity and reliability of the Indonesian version of the Finnish Diabetes Risk Score (FINDRISC) as an instrument for predicting type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). This study was an observational study with a cross-sectional design on 60 research subjects who were indigenous people of Yogyakarta who live in Yogyakarta, which can be proven by Identity Cards by the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Validity was tested by the validity of criteria by type while using the area under the receiver-operating curve (ROC-AUC). In contrast, reliability was tested by internal consistency using Cronbach's alpha. The results showed that as many as 14 people or 23.33% experienced uncontrolled fasting blood sugar and 15 people had a risk score of FINDRISC more than 10. Based on the ROC AUC analysis, the value of 0.935 (95% CI 0.865 1.00) with a cut-off point of 10 with the value of Sn = 85%, Sp = 95%, PPV = 85%, NPV = 95%, +LR = 5.66, and -LR = 0.15. Based on the reliability test, the Cronbach's alpha value of 0.727 was obtained. The FINDRISC questionnaire is categorized as valid and reliable so that it can be a screening tool for understanding.

Abstract

The number of people with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in Indonesia increases every year. Control of the development of T2DM can be done by screening using Finnish Diabetic Risk Score (FINDRISC)-Indonesian. FINDRISC is a valid tool for estimating the risk of T2DM within the next 10 years. This condition can have a major impact on the estimated life span and quality of life in the future. The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between FINDRISC-Indonesian and respondent characteristics with HRQoL from EuroQol-5 Dimension-5 Level (EQ-5D-5L) in Yogyakarta. The cross-sectional study was conducted on 125 respondents who met the inclusion criteria. The risk of developing T2DM was assessed using a validated and widely used FINDRISC (range 0-26 points), and quality of life was measured by the EQ-5D-5L instrument. Overall data were analyzed using the Pearson correlation test and Independent t-test. The results showed the domain of pain was the domain that reported most respondents' most problems (28.8%). The respondent's utility value was 0.958 ± 0.69, and the VAS value was 79.4 ± 0.7. There was a significant difference in utility value based on age characteristics (p = 0.013). There was a relationship between age and utility value (p = 0.006) and FINDRISC score with utility value (p = 0.003). This study concludes that a high FINDRISC score affects the quality of life, and older age has a lower quality of life.

Abstract

Research on risk factors for diabetes (DM) is growing. Identification of these risk factors aims to prevent DM as early as possible. This study intends to identify the utilization of the Finnish diabetes risk score (FINDRISC) and its development using bibliometric analysis. The keywords “FINDRISC AND Diabetes” were used to search for articles published in 2005-2021 in PubMed. A total of 249 articles were analyzed based on the number of publications per year, journals that publish the papers, number of publications by author and year of publication, number of publications by affiliation and year of publication, number of publications by country of origin of authors and year of publication, number of keywords, number of citations, types of articles, specific topics, and theme mapping. The data visualization was obtained from the Scopus database and the VOSviewer and Biblioshiny applications. Despite the increase in publications, the number of publications on FINDRISC in DM patients is still very few per year, with 92.8% being the primary study. Based on clusters of the country of origin, publications are still dominated by researchers from countries in the European region, and the researchers intensely relate to each other through citations. Research themes related to FINDRISC are not limited to DM risk factors. This study is the first study of a bibliometric analysis of the utilization of FINRISC in DM patients. The analysis results can be used to evaluate existing research gaps and identify future research opportunities.

Abstract

Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation on the skin's surface, characterized by the appearance of pink plaques covered with white scales. Currently, the availability of psoriasis vulgaris therapy is still limited. Therefore, considering the discovery of new drug candidates by utilizing genetic variations, such as single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) through drug repurposing, is a profitable method. The SNP associated with psoriasis was obtained from Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS) and Phenom-Wide Association Studies (PheWAS) databases. We identified 245 SNPs associated with psoriasis vulgaris with criteria of r2 >0.8. To prioritize the candidate of a gene associated with psoriasis, we used five criteria of functional annotation (missense/nonsense, cis-eQTL, PPI, KEGG, and KO mice) where if there were more than two criteria of assessment, they were defined as the risk gene of psoriasis vulgaris. Fifty-two genes were identified as the risk gene of psoriasis vulgaris, then expanded using the STRING database to obtain more gene candidates of drug targets. The result is 104 genes candidates for drug targets, of which 24 overlapped with 96 drugs, according to DrugBank. Of the 96 drugs that have been approved for other indications, we found that five drugs (ustekinumab, tildrakizumab, risankizumab, guselkumab, and etanercept) are currently in clinical trials for the treatment of psoriasis that target two genes (IL23A and TNF). We argue that these two genes are the most promising targets based on their high target scores on functional annotations. This research explains the potential that utilizing genomic variation can contribute to drug discovery.

Abstract

Health professions work together to provide the best service in health care facilities by collaborating with patients, families, worker and the community. Interprofessional education (IPE) were practice of collaboration between two or more students from different health profession programs. The purpose of study was to compare IPE results from first and third year batches. The two batches included 345 first-year students and 460 third-year students, from three different health disciplines, including medicine, pharmacy, and public health. These students met for four weeks to increase interprofessional collaboration, improve communication skills, foster respect and increase knowledge of the various roles each discipline, especially case management, conflict management and team work. Before IPE program, the students were given pre-questionnaire to assess their prior understanding of IPE. Each group of first-year students presented the outcomes of their discussions in the fourth week, while the third-year students created a poster about the subject and presented it in the second week. The students complete the program and post-questionnaire after their presentation. The International Collaborative Competencies Attainment Survey served the development the IPE questionnaire (ICCAS). The result of pre-IPE domains’ score revealed substantial disparities in the team work domain, with third-year students score was lower than the first students, whereas first-year students had the highest score in the most of IPE categories, unless collaboration and conflict management (p>0.05). The post-IPE domains’ score showed significant differences in all of the domains. Most of the IPE domains had higher score in first year students, excluding communication and team work.
