Abstract

Background: Health science development is currently rapidly changing due to the Covid-19. Changes have taken place not only in terms of scientific development but also in terms of learning methods. Almost all learning methods have shifted into online learning, requiring students to be more active. Objectives: This study aims to determine the level of SDLR among pharmacy students in Indonesia, especially during the pandemic. Methods: The sampling was conducted using an proportional sampling technique based on the distribution of Pharmacy Schools (PTF) in all the provinces in Indonesia. The level of readiness of these pharmacy students was measured using a questionnaire that consisted of four domains. The questions were scored according to the characteristics of the questions (negative or positive). Results: The results of this study showed that 1884 respondents participated in this study. The basic characteristics showed that 89.1% participants were private pharmacy schools and 84.4% of them were female respondents. The mean of each domains of SDLR for self-management, the desire to learn, the emotional competency, and the responsible decision-making was 3.24 ± 2.65, 3.37 ± 2.09, 3.04 ± 1 87, 3.16 ± 2.16, respectively. Based on gender, the difference of mean in sub domain was p=0.000 (need for learning), p=0.002 (hope for outcome), and p=0.000 (identifying problem). Conclusion: In conclusion, the Self-Directed Learning Readiness (SDLR) among pharmacy students in Indonesia is quite high during the pandemic with a score above 3 (scale 1-4).

Abstract

Kidney failure is a disease with a moderate prevalence in Indonesia but causes the second highest cost burden in Indonesia. One of the treatments for chronic kidney failure is hemodialysis. The problem with hemodialysis patients is a high incidence of malnutrition, which can affect the patient's quality of life. Therefore, this study will examine the relationship between nutritional status and quality of life in chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis. This research is a cross-sectional study by collecting medical record data and filling out questionnaires. Selection of research subjects with inclusion criteria aged ≥18 years, routinely undergoing hemodialysis, willing to participate in the study and complete medical record data. The patient's nutritional status was seen from the Body Mass Index (BMI), and the patient's quality of life was assessed by the Indonesian version of the Kidney Disease Quality of Life Short-Form (KDQoL-SFTM) questionnaire. The average age of the hemodialysis patients in this study was 53.70 years, the average body weight was 57.24 kg and the average height was 10.82 cm. Patients with lean BMI were 20.5%, normal 56.4%, overweight 23.1%, and obesity 2.6%. The domain of employment status is related to nutritional status (p-value 0.005). Nutritional status is related to the quality of life of hemodialysis patients in the occupational status domain.

After a person is diagnosed with Tuberculosis, it will be continued with TB treatment for 6 months, this makes the patient bored and does not comply with taking medication. Based on previous research, it was found that the adherence rate in patients undergoing treatment was 72.7%. Considering that TB is an infectious disease so that adherence to pulmonary TB treatment is important to analyze, this study aims to determine the level of adherence to taking anti-tuberculosis drugs in TB patients in several Puskesmas in Sleman area. Patients compliance was measured by MARS. This study used a descriptive observational design applying the cross-sectional design. The subjects were pulmonary TB patients registered as TB sufferers based on secondary data at the Sleman District Health Office, aged 15-70 years old, seeking treatment in March-April 2020, receiving treatment undergoing OAT therapy category 1 for at least one month and willing to be respondents. The results of the study revealed that 54% were male and 46% were female, dominated by 62% aged >25 years of 13 subjects. The score of MARS questionnaire obtained was <25. Abstract

The halal lifestyle trend is currently developing in various regions of the world, not only in areas where the majority of the population is Muslim but also where the population is Muslim minority. This study aims to determine the level and correlation of public knowledge, perceptions, and attitudes toward halal medicine and correlation with demographic data. This cross-sectional study was conducted online using a validated questionnaire, conducted in January-February 2023 on 600 respondents in six provinces of Java Island, using a purposive sampling method with inclusion criteria over 17 years old and exclusion criteria not being a doctor or pharmacist. The Spearman test was used to correlate knowledge-perception-attitude, and the Chi-square test was used to correlate demographic data with knowledge, attitude, and perception. The results showed that the level of public knowledge was sufficient (mean score 33.74 ± 2.37), the perception was sufficient (mean score 35.91 ± 3.47) and the attitude was sufficient (mean score 31.17 ± 4.25) towards halal medicine. Age, education, and place of work affect knowledge; and place of work affects perception. It is concluded that the community has sufficient knowledge, perceptions, and attitudes, knowledge-perception is significantly correlated, knowledge-attitude is weak and perception-attitude is strongly correlated
