Abstract

Background: This Study aimed to evaluate the effect of educational video interventions on improving pregnant women's knowledge regerding exclusive breastfeeding using two comparison groups. although digital learning media have become widely implemented in maternal health promotion, passive video delivery often limits comprehension and learning retention. intergrating interaction within digital education may enhance understanding by enabling clarification and strengthening information processing. A quasi- xperimental pretest-posttest design was conducted involving 34 pregnant women divided into two groups: an intervantion group receiving educational video with interactive discussion (n=17) and a comparison group receiving the same video without interaction (n=17). knowlegde was measured before and after the intervention and analyzed using the wilcoxon signed rank test and Mann- whitney U test. result showed that both groups experienced increases in posttest knowledge scores; however, improvement was greater in the interaction group. The Wilcoxon analysis demonstrated significant knowledge gains in the interactive group ( Z =-3.643 ; p = 0.000). Meanwhile, Mann-Whitney analysis indicated that the knowledge improvement between the two groups was significantly different, favoring the interaction approach. These findings demonstrate thet educational videos accompanied by interaction are more effective in improving maternal knowledge compared to passive video delivery. Strengthening interaction-based digital health education is recommended to support maternal and child health programs.

Abstract

Health in early childhood is a predictor of oral health as they age, and oral health is a crucial factor influencing overall health. Therefore, providing early education and intervention is crucial. The high prevalence of dental and oral health problems in school-aged children, the low effectiveness of conventional educational approaches, and the importance of early habit formation make the need for innovative approaches to dental health education urgent. This study presents a novelty in the form of audiovisual educational media, specifically designed for elementary school children in the context of SDN 255 Nikkel Sorowako, East Luwu Regency. This approach has not been widely used in an integrated manner in health promotion programs in areas with specific social and environmental characteristics, such as mining industrial areas. Furthermore, this study not only evaluates knowledge but also focuses on changes in children's actual behavior dental health status. Therefore, it is expected to provide scientific and practical contributions to the development of health education models. This study used a Pre-Experimental Design with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The research sample was selected using a total sampling technique, in which the entire population was included as the sample. The total population consisted of 40 students, comprising 20 students from class 5A and 20 students from class 5B. Data analysis was performed using statistical tests. The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant difference in students' oral health behaviors before and after receiving education. Therefore, it is recommended that SDN 252 Nikkel Sorowako establish cooperation and collaboration with relevant agencies such as community health centers or dental health professionals in implementing education.

Abstract

Low back pain is a common occupational health problem frequently experienced by workers and can reduce comfort, work capacity, and productivity. Loading and Unloading Workers (TKBM) are at high risk of low back pain because most of their work activities are manual, involving lifting and moving loads. This study aims to identify factors associated with low back pain complaints among TKBM workers, providing evidence-based insights for effective workplace health strategies. This study is quantitative and cross-sectional. The study population comprised 304 TKBM workers, and 168 respondents were selected using an accidental sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using the Chi-Square test at a 95% confidence level (α = 0.05). The results showed that age, workload, length of service, and stretching habits had a significant relationship with complaints of low back pain. Meanwhile, body mass index (BMI) did not show a significant relationship with complaints of low back pain in TKBM workers. This study concluded that factors such as age, workload, length of service, and stretching habits play a role in the occurrence of complaints of low back pain in TKBM workers. Therefore, preventative measures are needed through workload management, regular stretching before work, and increasing worker awareness of the importance of maintaining musculoskeletal health to reduce the risk of lower back pain.

Abstract

Social jet lag, which affects students' health and academic performance, is a significant concern linked to the mismatch between biological rhythms and social schedules. Heavy use of digital devices at night increases susceptibility to sleep disorders and social jet lag. This study aims to determine the effect of animated videos on students' knowledge and attitudes regarding social jet lag at the Faculty of Public Health, Muslim University of Indonesia. This study is quantitative, with a quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test design. The study was conducted among students of the Faculty of Public Health, Muslim University of Indonesia, class of 2025, with a sample of 15 respondents selected using simple random sampling. The intervention was given in the form of an educational animated video about social jet lag. Data were collected using a knowledge and attitude questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, then analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed an increase in the proportion of knowledge in the sufficient category from 46.7% in the pre-test to 66.7% in the post-test. In addition, the proportion of positive attitudes increased from 33.3% to 60% after the intervention. The Wilcoxon test results showed a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores for knowledge (p = 0.019) and attitude (p = 0.011). The intervention effect size was relatively large, at 0.61 for knowledge and 0.66 for attitude. This study concluded that the animated video was effective in improving students' knowledge and attitudes regarding social jet lag. The animated video can be used as a digital health promotion medium to raise students' awareness of the importance of managing healthy sleep patterns.

Abstract

Abstract

Stunting remains one of Indonesia’s major chronic nutritional problems and poses a serious threat to human resource development, particularly in vulnerable regions such as Maros Regency. Stunting reflects long-term nutritional deficiencies during the critical period of the first 1,000 days of life and is associated with adverse consequences on physical growth, cognitive development, health status, and future productivity. Data indicate that the prevalence of stunting in the working area of the Marusu Health Center increased to 4.1% in 2024, highlighting the need for more effective preventive strategies that address not only biological and nutritional factors but also behavioral and communicative aspects. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between interpersonal communication and stunting prevention and management behaviors at the Marusu Health Center, Maros Regency. An analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach was employed. The study population consisted of 284 mothers with stunted children in the Marusu Health Center area. Based on sampling criteria and data collection during the study period, a total of 96 respondents were included in the final analysis using accidental sampling. Primary data were collected through face-to-face interviews using structured questionnaires, while secondary data were obtained from the Marusu Health Center and the local Health Office. Data analysis was conducted using Chi-Square tests and multivariate logistic regression to identify significant associations between variables. The results showed that interpersonal communication was significantly associated with awareness, motivation, intention, and preventive practices related to stunting prevention. However, no significant relationship was found between interpersonal communication and sociocultural factors (p = 0.629). These findings indicate that effective interpersonal communication plays a crucial role in shaping preventive behaviors, even when sociocultural influences remain unchanged. Strengthening communication competencies among health workers and Posyandu (community health post) cadres, as well as implementing family-based counseling programs, is therefore essential. Future studies are recommended to expand the research area, increase the number of respondents, and apply longitudinal approaches to better understand the long-term effects of communication-based stunting prevention interventions.
