Abstract

The problems of junior high school students are getting more and more varied because information is easy to get. This condition makes it hard for guidance and counseling teachers to give the best help with the current limits. Also, since students live with the digital world, guidance and counseling services must change too. So, this training program aims to improve the skills of junior high school guidance and counseling teachers in Malang Regency. The program used a project-based learning model through six steps: design, preparation, introduction, core training, closure, and reporting. There were 20 guidance and counseling teachers from the Junior High School Guidance and Counseling Teachers Association of Malang Regency as participants. The results showed that there was a significant increase in teachers’ competencies with a significance value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). These results proved that the self-help approach integrated with reality counseling based on the values of Ki Hadjar Dewantara could improve the competence of guidance and counseling teachers in providing autonomous and local-based counseling services to introduce a new counseling paradigm that encourages student independence in the digital era.

Abstract

Students who have introverted personalities often experience difficulties when faced with situations that require them to carry out social interactions. This has an impact on their role in several lecture activities, especially in group assignments that require collaboration in the process. Based on research results, the negative impact of introverts is excessive worry, pessimism, lack of confidence, fear of opinions, and not daring to appear in public. This self-closing character makes it difficult for lecturers to develop their academic potential and achievements. One effort that can be made to reduce the negative impact of introverted students is Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) counseling. This research is quasi-experimental, using non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. This research was conducted at PGRI Banyuwangi University, with the research subjects being students who fall into the introvert category. The sampling technique is called purposive sampling. The instruments used in this study include observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The instruments used in this study include observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Based on the results of data processing using SPSS, the results of group counseling treatment with the REBT (rational emotive behavior therapy) approach for subjects indicated to be introverts in this study stated that t-count = 20,294 with a significance level of 0.05, so t-table = 2,201. Based on these findings, it is possible to conclude that the t count > the t table, or that 20,294 > 2,201. Thus, it can be concluded that group counseling with the REBT approach can reduce the negative impact of introverts on counseling students at PGRI Banyuwangi University. This results shows that group counseling with the REBT approach is able to reduce the negative impact of introverts on students.

Counseling reality therapy, counseling and resilience are forms of providing assistance that is individual or group in the counseling process. Generally, reality counseling and WDEP are used to change behavior now. The reality of this therapy is focused on confronting the counselor by facing reality and helping to get the needs without harming oneself and others. Meanwhile, WDEP is more focused on meeting the needs of counselors so as not to deny the existing reality. How are these two counselings interconnected and create the strength to overcome adolescent resilience with premarital promiscuous sex dependence? This article reviews with an epistemological point of view from a literature review of WDEP counseling and the reality of therapy from early 2013 to late 2022 to find out its use in overcoming adolescent resilience with premarital free sex dependence. To achieve this goal, three steps followed: (1) prepare a search strategy for systematic literature review and gather representative paper research into the use of WDEP counseling and therapeutic reality using the Google Scholar and Scient Direct digital literature search engines; (2) store search results into a mandeley database to synthesize literature reviews; (3) organize literature review and extract data into qualitative and quantitative information on WDEP counseling and Reality therapy on the resilience of adolescents with premarital free sex dependence. The authors propose a taxonomy of literature through interpretive analysis: (1) time analysis to determine the causes of trends in the use of WDEP counseling and the reality of therapy in the last ten years; (2) terminology analysis to examine the development of the application of WDEP counseling and the reality of trerapi; (3) analysis of the use of WDEP counseling and the reality of the counselor on the nature and characteristics of counseling; (4) analysis of WDEP counseling and the reality of trerapi on counselor's perceptions; (5) analysis of the use of WDEP counseling and the reality of trerapi in relation to socio-cultural, family, or personal rules; (6) analysis of WDEP counseling and trerapi reality of self-concept, self-esteem and resilience of adolescents with premarital free sex dependence.
