Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of game-based Learning Science for Kids in developing logical thinking skills in children aged 5-6 years. The study involved 17 children as subjects, with data collected through observation sheets. A quantitative approach was employed using an experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design, which analyzes the impact of an intervention under controlled conditions using the N-gain test. The results indicate that the average N-gain score obtained was 0.731, categorized as high (g > 0.7). These findings suggest that game-based Learning Science for Kids is highly effective in enhancing children's logical thinking skills. Therefore, this learning model can serve as an effective alternative for strengthening logical thinking abilities in children aged 5-6 years.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of STEAM learning using Loose Parts on the cognitive and artistic abilities of children aged 5-6 years. The research employs a quantitative approach with a Quasi-Experimental Design. The subjects consist of 48 children divided into experimental and control groups. Hypothesis testing was conducted using the Mann-Whitney U Test, yielding a p-value of < 0.001 (α = 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the two groups. The findings confirm that STEAM learning with Loose Parts has a positive impact on enhancing young children's cognitive and artistic abilities. This approach not only stimulates creativity and problem-solving skills but also improves logical thinking and artistic expression. Therefore, integrating Loose Parts into STEAM learning can be an effective strategy for optimizing early childhood development.

Abstract

Objective: This study is to determine the influence of media Flash Card Augmented Reality on Reading Interest and Storytelling Ability of 5-6 Years Old Children. Method: This research is quantitative research experiment with design Nonrandomized Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design experiment, the research subjects were 50 children divided into 2 groups, namely the experimental group of 28 children, with 9 boys and 19 girls, the control group of 22 children, with 11 boys, 11 girls so that the total number of boys was 20 children or 40% and girls 30 or 60%, with an age range of 5-6 years, the instrument used was an observation sheet for reading interest and storytelling ability. The data analysis technique used test Mann-Whitney U test. Results: This study shows a significant level where the p score shows a result of less than 0.001, that there is a difference in gain score between the experimental group and the control group. This shows that because there is a difference between the control group and the experimental group, it means that there is an Influence of Flash Card Augmented Reality on Reading Interest and Storytelling Ability of Children Aged 5-6 Years. Novelty: Through the fun Augmented Reality Flashcard media mechanism, it triggers children's interest in reading and storytelling skills. Through this study, it is expected to find empirical evidence regarding the benefits of using augmented reality-based flashcards, as well as provide recommendations for educators in improving the quality of learning in the classroom.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of character education in early childhood through social interaction and the introduction of counting. Character education at an early age is very important in shaping moral, ethical and social values that become the foundation of a child's personality. Through a qualitative method with a literature study approach, this research analyzes various findings regarding character education obtained from various related studies. The results show that character education can be strengthened through social interaction activities such as group games, collaborative projects and daily activities that involve values such as cooperation, responsibility and empathy. In addition, the early introduction of numeracy also plays a role in supporting children's character development, as numeracy teaches children to think critically, solve problems and work together in facing challenges. Project-based learning is proven to be effective in integrating numeracy and character. This study also found the importance of parents and teachers in supporting children's character development at home and at school. The conclusion of this study confirms that character education through social interaction and numeracy can create a generation that is smart, has integrity, and is ready to face life's challenges.

Abstract

The curriculum outlines how the school as a system must have clear goals and directions, especially to carry out the learning process. The development of the times causes the curriculum to continue to change from time to time. However, implementation in the field sometimes does not match what has been planned in the curriculum. One of the factors that influence it is teacher competence. Therefore, this study aims to determine the competence of early childhood education teachers implementing the Merdeka curriculum. Using a type of literature study research, this article describes how the Merdeka curriculum as the latest curriculum is implemented in ECCE units. The results showed that the competence of ECCE teachers in implementing the Merdeka curriculum can be viewed from an understanding of the curriculum, educational qualifications, and child-centered learning. In addition, the themes that emerged in this study included the efforts made by ECCE teachers and the factors supporting the success of the implementation of the Merdeka curriculum. The implications of the results of this study can be used as a guide for teachers and policy makers so that the quality of learning in ECCE can improve and be competitive.
