Abstract

Augmented Reality (AR) has emerged as a promising technology in the mental health field with the potential to change the approach to the management of anxiety disorders, including phobias. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of AR therapy in reducing anxiety levels in phobia sufferers, with a focus on patients' experiences and responses to this technology. The research method used was an experimental study with a Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) design, involving two groups of participants: an experimental group that received AR therapy and a control group that did not receive the intervention or received conventional therapy. Measurements were carried out using a valid and reliable anxiety scale before and after the intervention to assess changes in anxiety symptoms. The results showed that AR therapy significantly reduced anxiety levels in participants in the experimental group compared to the control group. Participants who underwent AR therapy reported increased tolerance for previously fear-inducing situations, as well as improvements in their daily quality of life. In conclusion, the use of AR in phobia therapy offers an innovative and effective approach to reducing anxiety symptoms in phobia sufferers. By creating a controlled virtual environment, AR facilitates safe and scalable exposure to therapy for patients, overcoming some of the barriers that exist in conventional therapy. The clinical implications and potential further application of this technology in clinical practice need to be further investigated to maximize its benefits in the management of anxiety disorders.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was designed to examine the effect of autogenic relaxation on reducing anxiety on the athletes of shooting. This study uses an experimental research method with pre and posttest control group design. The treatment in this study was autogenic relaxation given for 8 times. The participants of this study were 12 shooting athletes from the East Java Training Center. Data obtained through sport anxiety scale. Independent t test was used as a data analysis technique. The results of the research show that the t value is -9.398 with p less than 0.001. This shows that autogenic relaxation training effective to reduce shooting athlete’s anxiety. The decrease of anxiety occurred partly due to the athlete's acceptance of the importance of mental training and autogenic relaxation mechanisms lead to specific responses against anxiety symptoms. Autogenic relaxation can be used as an intervention for reduce shooting athlete’s anxiety.

Abstract

Brain development during early childhood is critically shaped by a variety of factors, particularly in children with special needs. This study explores the influence of environmental, educational, and social factors on the cognitive and behavioral development of children aged 3 to 6 with special needs. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were gathered through direct observation, interviews with parents and educators, and analysis of relevant developmental documents. Instruments utilized included parent questionnaires, educator interview guides, and observation sheets designed to assess motor, language, and social development. Thematic analysis was employed to identify emerging patterns. The findings suggest that children with special needs who received robust support from both family and educational environments exhibited notable advancements in cognitive and emotional development. These results emphasize the significance of active involvement from parents and service providers in fostering children's learning. Furthermore, the study highlights that inclusive and adaptive teaching methods enhance children's engagement in learning. In conclusion, the brain development of children with special needs is a multifaceted process that necessitates an integrated approach encompassing education, early intervention, and emotional support. A deeper understanding of these developmental processes can lead to more effective interventions aimed at maximizing the potential of these children.
