Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of chemistry practice in Chemistry Laboratory Education Program of University Tanjungpura Pontianak. The type of this study was descriptive involving 81 students. The instruments used were questionnaires, interviews and observation. Data collection techniques used were direct observation, direct communication techniques and questionnaires. The result of data analysis showed the implementation of chemistry practice in terms of; (1) students response the implementation of the chemictry practice of 73.34%; (2) students response to the role and effectiveness of lecturer's guidance of 36.35%; (3) students response to assistant role is 62,98%; (4) students response to the condition of the equipment and the availability of the practicum material by 70.56%; (5) assistant response to the lecturer's role during the practicum activity was 48.89%; (6) assistant response to equipment condition was 42.96%; (7) assistant response to material condition 85.93%; (8) assistant responses to the constraints it faces 38.30%; (9) the students and assistant response the laboratory role of 66.17%; (10) assistant and students responses to practical guidebook of 83.04%. The implementation of chemistry practice in the laboratory of Chemistry Education Study Program averaged 60.85% with sufficient category. Keywords: Implementation of chemistry practice, chemistry laboratory, chemistry practice

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan pemahaman konsep siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran konvensional dengann  siswa yang diajar dengan model guided discovery learning serta mengetahui besarnya pengaruh model guided discovery learning pada materi larutan penyangga terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Taruna Bumi Khatulistiwa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi-eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah nonequivalent control group design. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik pengukuran menggunakan instrumen tes hasil belajar. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan pemahaman konsep antara siswa yang diajar dengan model konvensional dan model guided discovery learning. Model guided discovery learning juga memberikan pengaruh sebesar 41,6% terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa. Kata kunci: guided discovery learning, pemahaman konsep Abstract: This research aims to determine the differences in student’s understanding of concepts that taught by conventional learning model and students who are taught by guided discovery learning models and determine the influence of guided discovery learning models on the material buffer solution to understanding the concept of class XI IPA SMA Taruna Bumi Khatulistiwa. This research method that used is a quasi-experimental and the research design that used is a non equivalent group design. Data collection techniques used is a measurement technique using about pretest and posttest. Results of the analysis of the data shows that there are differences between students' understanding of concepts taught by the conventional model and the model of guided discovery learning.The guided discovery learning models is also an impact of 41,6% of the students' understanding of the concept.   Keywords: guided discovery learning, understanding of concept

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa kelas XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Ambawang pada materi koloid melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Two Stay Two Stray. Bentuk penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Ambawang. Lembar observasi dan tes hasil belajar digunakan sebagai instrumen penelitian. Sebelum digunakan instrumen tersebut di uji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Validitas isi yang digunakan adalah uji gregory dan reliabilitas yang digunakan dadalah rumus alpha chronbach. Dari hasil perhitungan validitas isi tergolong dalam kategori  tinggi dan reliabilitas tergolong dalam kategori sedang. Tindakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 siklus dan setiap siklus terdiri dari 4 tahap yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan terhadap aktivitas dan hasil belajar. Peningkatan aktivitas siswa sebesar 2,03%. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar siswa 3,74% Kata kunci: Two Stay Two  Stray (TSTS), Aktivitas belajar, hasil belajar, Koloid Abstract: This research aims to improve student’s activities and student’s achievement in second eleventh grade student of SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Ambawang in  koloid material through kooperatif tipe Two Stay Two Stray learning model. The form of this research was classrom action research. The subject of this research was students of second eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Ambawang. Observation sheet and learning achievement test was used as the research instrument. Before used the instrument, the validity and reliability of the instrument has been checked. Content validity that used was gregory test and chonbach alpha for the reliability. From the result of content validity that include to the high category and reliability include to the average category. The action in this research consists of two cycle and there are 4 step in each cycle. They are planning, action, observation, and reflexion. The result of this research shows that there was an improving of students' activity and students' achievement. Thus, the improving of students' activity was 2,03%. The result of this research also shows that there was improving in students learning achievement, it was 3,74%. Key Word: Two Stay Two  Stray (TSTS), activity, students learning achievement, Koloid

Abstract

AbstractThe background of this research was low student achievement, and there are still many students who had difficulty in solving problems of  mole concept material. This research was conducted to find out and describe the forms of mistakes made by students of class XI MIPA SMA Negeri 4 Pontianak in solving the problems of the mole concept. The method of this research was descriptive research with a case study form. The subjects in this research were 107 students of class XI MIPA SMA Negeri 4 Pontianak consisting of class XI MIPA 3, XI MIPA 4 and XI MIPA 5. The data collection techniques in this research were measurement techniques, namely through essay diagnostic tests of 5 questions and techniques direct communication that is using unstructured interviews. The results showed that there were 6.34% of students making mistakes in understanding essential concepts; 8.30% of students make mistakes in understanding the relationship between concepts; 16.35% of students make mistakes in understanding the use of a concept to solve a problems.Keywords : Description, Error form, Mole concept

Abstract

IMPLEMENTASI MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING DALAM MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP MAHASISWA PADA MATA KULIAH MANAJEMEN LABORATORIUMAbstractConceptual understanding was one of cognitive aspect which ensure success rate of students. If conceptual understanding of students was good, students would been successful in following the course. The main goal of this study was to describe conceptual understanding of prospective student teacher after being taught using Problem based learning model. One shot case study design was chosen as research design. The research population for this study comprised all the second year students of chemistry education program which consisted of three classes. according to saturated sampling, all the members  of population were selected as samples. they consisted of 71 students overall. Achievement Test was used to collect data. It was given to students to examine students’ conceptual understanding. Data were then analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. The results from this study showed that students’ conceptual understanding was in various rates. As many as 55 %, 15%, 3% and 27 % of students were classified as poor, fair, good, and very good respectively.AbstrakPemahaman konsep merupakan salah satu aspek kognitif yang menentukan tingkat keberhasilan peserta didik setelah melaksanakan proses pembelajaran. Jika pemahaman konsep yang dimiliki baik, maka peserta didik tersebut telah berhasil secara kognitif di dalam melewati proses pembelajaran. Tujuan pada penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan pemahaman konsep MAHASISWA setelah diajar menggunakan model problem based learning (PBL). Bentuk   penelitian ini adalah pra-eksperimetal dengan rancangan the one-shot case study. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Kimia universitas Tanjungpura semester II yang terdiri atas 3 kelas. Teknik pemilihan sampel dilakukan dengan cara sampling jenuh, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 71 mahasiswa. Teknik pengumpulan  data  yang digunakan untuk menelaah masalah tersebut dilakukan melalui pengukuran dengan instrumen tes hasil belajar digunakan untuk mengukur pemahaman konsep mahasiswa. Deskripsi pemahaman konsep calon guru kimia diketahui dengan analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian diperoleh pemahaman konsep calon guru kimia setelah diajarkan menggunakan model PBL pada mata kuliah Manajemen Laboratorium diperoleh sebanyak 55% dengan kategori sangat kurang, 15% dengan kategori kurang, 3% dengan kategori baik, dan 27% dengan kategori sangat baik.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' understanding of concepts using learning cycle 5E model in the topic of colloid. This type of research is developmental research used Dick and Carey model on treatment by using the One Group Pre-test and Post-test design. Data collection methods used were observationand tests, while the data analysis techniques used qualitative descriptive analysis and Wilcoxon matched pairs test (α = 5%). The results of this research are learning materials of lesson what have been developed had a validity, generally very good category to be used. Implementation of application of learning materials developed is very good, improving students’ learning outcomes which we can see from the completeness of individually and classically, as well as enhancing students' understanding of concepts revealed by normalized gain score with high category.

Abstract

Learning tools have important role to promote effective learning process. Available learning tools was still unable to construct good understanding for students especially in acid base topic. The aims of this study were to examine validity and application of tools and to describe improvement of students conceptual understanding before and after tools applied during learning process. Dick and Carey model was applied as research method. Data were collected by means of interview, observation, and test. Data were analyzed through descriptive qualitative analysis. According to data analysis, validity of lesson plan, worksheet, hand book and evaluation tools were 90,95%, 90,59%, 92,16%, and 97,14% respectively which categorized as very valid. The application of learning tools was 92,16% which categorized as very good. The improvement of students conceptual understanding was 0,57 which categorized as average. This research provides learning tools that enhance students conceptual understanding of the concept of acid-base topic.

Abstract

This research aims to know students’ response about learning process using learning cycle 5E model assisted with multimedia on colloid matter. Pre-experiment method with one-shot case study design was used regarding to this. There are 79 students of SMAN 7 Pontianak who involved in this research. indirect communication techniques was used to collect data. Based on the research is obtained very good student response to learning using the 5E learning cycle model of multimedia-assisted colloid matter. The information that is obtained from this research is a very good response of students to learning using the 5E learning cycle model of multimedia-assisted colloid matter. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran menggunakan model siklus belajar 5E berbantuan multimedia pada materi koloid. Untuk menjawab permasalahan digunakan metode pra-eksperimen dengan desain one-shot case study. Sebanyak 79 siswa SMAN 7 Pontianak terlibat dalam penelitian ini. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan komunikasi tak langsung.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh informasi bahwa respon siswasangat baik terhadap pembelajaran menggunakan model siklus belajar 5E berbantuan multimedia pada materi koloid. Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa kelas XII MIPA 3 SMAN 8 Pontianak pada materi reaksi oksidasi dan reduksi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa kelas XII MIPA 3 SMAN 8 Pontianak setelah diberikan model pembelaajran kooperatif debat kimia berbasis ICT. Bentuk penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XII MIPA 3 SMAN 8 Pontianak. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah pengukuran dengan instrument penelitian mengunakan tes hasil belajar dan observasi langsung menggunakan lembar keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian diperoleh hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan sebesar 3,78 pada siklus I, menjadi 7,14 pada siklus II.Kata kunci: Model kooperatif, debat kimia, ICT

Abstract

This study aimed to determine: 1) the differences in student learning outcomes taught used the STAD cooperative learning model used conventional learning models on atomic material and the constituent particles, 2) the magnitude of the influence of the STAD cooperative learning model on student learning outcomes on atomic and particle material constituent. The form of this research was true experimental design with posttest only control design. The sample selection technique was carried out by simple random sampling. The data collection tool was used a learning outcome test. The results of data analysis through the U-Mann Whitney test on the posttest value obtained a Sig value of 0.000 which indicates that there were differences in learning outcomes between students who were taught used the STAD type cooperative learning model and students taught used conventional methods on atomic material and the constituent particles. Learning used the STAD cooperative learning model on atomic material and its constituent particles at SMP Negeri 9 Pontianak class IX has an effect of 37.06% on student learning outcomes.
