Abstract

Background: Oral health is a vital component of overall well-being. The School Dental Health Program (UKGS) is designed to enhance students' oral hygiene through education and health promotion initiatives. This study conducted a systematic review of the literature to evaluate the effectiveness of the UKGS program in improving oral hygiene among students. Subjects and Method: The literature search was conducted in November 2024 using the PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar databases. The search employed keywords such as “School Dental Health Program,” “UKGS,” “oral hygiene,” “dental health,” “students,” “school,” “intervention,” “health education,” and “effectiveness.” Studies were included if they evaluated the effectiveness of the UKGS program in improving students' oral hygiene, were published in either Indonesian or English, and utilized quantitative or qualitative research designs. Studies were excluded if they did not address the UKGS program, were not relevant to the research question, used non-empirical methods, or were published before 2010. Due to time constraints, a total of 14 articles were selected for analysis. These studies explored various factors affecting the effectiveness of the program, including the frequency and duration of implementation, educational methods used, support from parents and teachers, and students’ socioeconomic backgrounds. Results: The UKGS program has the potential to enhance students' knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to oral hygiene. However, its effectiveness is influenced by several key factors, including the involvement of parents and teachers, the use of engaging and interactive educational methods, and access to dental health services. Based on these findings, the study offers several recommendations to improve the future effectiveness of the UKGS program. These include increasing the frequency and duration of program implementation, incorporating more interactive and engaging educational approaches, and addressing existing gaps in access to dental health services. Conclusion: The UKGS Program has great potential in improving students' oral hygiene. However, to achieve optimal results, the program needs to be well-designed and consistently implemented by considering various factors that influence its effectiveness. By implementing the recommendations mentioned, it is hoped that the UKGS program can be more successful in improving oral health among students.

Abstract

The number of people with disorders is gradually increasing from one year to the next. In Indonesia, the estimated number of people with mental illness is around 450,000 with a severe mental illness where 31.5% of people with mental illness are shackled by their families and 15% do not seek any medical treatment. Patients with mental disorders are in a state of mindset and emotions that are unstable, so the role of the family is needed to help people with self-care activities. According to Andersen, there are three factors that impact health service utilization. Factors that influence include predisposing factors, enabling factors, and need factors. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that are associated with re-visiting outpatients at Dr. Radjiman Wediodiningrat Lawang Mental Hospital. The research method is quantitative research with a cross-sectional study approach. The research sample was the family who accompanied the patient to make an outpatient re-visit with a total of 400 respondents. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling. The data analysis used in this study was the Chi-Square test. The results indicated that there was a significant relationship between knowledge (p-value: 0.006), attitude (p-value: 0.000), income (p-value: 0.032), family support (p-value: 0.00), and information support (p-value: 0.003) with the re-visit of outpatients at Dr. Radjiman Wediodiningrat Lawang Mental Hospital. Predisposing factors and enabling factors are both associated with re-visiting outpatients at Dr. Radjiman Wediodiningrat Lawang Mental Hospital. Future researchers are hoped to study other aspects such as hospital health service system components and need factors that may be associated to recurrent visits of mental illness patients by utilizing a more comprehensive questionnaire to acquire better information.

Abstract

The service that most affects patient satisfaction is nursing services. Whether or not patients are satisfied with health services is an indicator and one of the determining factors for the good and bad quality of professional nursing care. For this reason, this study aims to analyze nurses' caring behavior and patient satisfaction at the X Hospital. This type of research is quantitative with a cross sectional approach. The sample selection technique used purposive sampling and calculations were carried out using the slovin formula so that a sample of 119 patient respondents was found, both BPJS patients and general patients. Data collection was carried out in October-December 2022. The analysis used in this study included the chi square test, as well as multivariate analysis using ANOVA. The processing of this research data uses the help of SPSS software. The results showed that the patient age was a variable that was not related to the Principles of Nursing Care Caring Behavior, Leadership and Management of Caring Behavior, and Inpatient Satisfaction of X Hospital. While the variables related to the Principles of Nursing Care Caring Behavior, Leadership and Management of Nursing Care Caring Behavior, and Inpatient Satisfaction of X Hospital are variables of patient gender, patient education level, patient payment type is expected that there will be an increase in Caring leadership attitude between nurses to improve a good work environment between nurses. For hospitals, management improvement is needed to evaluate the provision of health services to BPJS patients and general patients.

Abstract

Patient safety is a system that aims to make health services safer, preventing injuries due to errors in carrying out actions or not taking actions that should be taken, by using risk screening for patients. This research was conducted to see the effect of nurses' compliance in completing the complete patient fall risk screening at Hospital X Pekanbaru. This research was a descriptive analytical study with a cross-sectional approach carried out at Hospital X Pekanbaru, using a sample of 133 nurses at Hospital X Pekanbaru. Data was collected using questionnaires and interviews regarding nurses' compliance in filling out the patient fall screening sheet using a Likert scale questionnaire. Several variables were included in the analysis, including age, gender, highest level of education, length of service, work shifts, workload, rewards, knowledge, supervision, attitudes and compliance with the implementation of fall risk screening. All variables are converted into categorical data (nominal or ordinal). The analysis in this study was univariate analysis (frequency and percentage) and bivariate analysis was carried out using the Chi-Square Test statistical method with a p value <0.05. The results showed that length of service had an effect on nurses' compliance in completing the fall risk screening (p = 0.049). However, there is a tendency that those aged <31 years are more likely to be non-compliant, while those aged >31 years are more likely to be compliant in completing the screening requirements. Meanwhile, it was also found that nurses with a working period of <6 years were more likely to be non-compliant, while those with a working period of >6 years were more likely to be compliant in filling out the screening requirements, so it was found that compliance with completing the patient fall risk screening by nurses would increase by 2. 1 time.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Both overweight and obesity are caused by excess nutrient intake. Feeding practices are one of the mother's efforts to prevent obesity in her toddler by controlling the nutritional intake. Obesity during childhood will increase the risk of persistence into adulthood. Obesity has a negative impact on health such as susceptibility to disease and reducing quality of life.  The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors associated with maternal feeding practices in toddlers based on the Health Belief Model Theory. This study is an analytic study with a cross sectional design. The study subjects were 178 mothers who had overweight toddlers and fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Feeding practices were measured using Semi Quantitative Food Frequency and other variables using a structured questionnaire. The results of the analysis using Chi-Square showed that there was an association between perceived susceptibility (p value = 0.020), perceived benefit (p value = 0.024), self-efficacy (p value = 0.018) and cues to action (p value = 0.014). Meanwhile, perceived severity beliefs, and perceived barrier beliefs were not significantly associated with maternal practices in feeding toddlers. The results of multivariate testing using logistic regression showed that perceived susceptibility was the variable that had the strongest effect on the practice of feeding toddlers with OR = 4.067. It can be concluded that mothers who have low susceptibility beliefs have a 4-fold risk opportunity to carry out feeding practices that risk obesity compared to mothers who have high susceptibility beliefs. Keywords: Childhood Obesity, Feeding Practices, Toddlers, Health Belief Model  ABSTRAK Status gizi lebih baik itu overweight maupun obesitas disebabkan oleh kelebihan asupan nutrisi.

Abstract

There were 9,162,886 cases of depression with a prevalence of 3.7 percent among Indonesian adolescents. However, there is no specific intervention to prevent and overcome this problem, especially in the field of mental health promotion. This study aims to determine the effect of health education through virtual classes on anxiety and depression on the knowledge and attitudes of adolescents in Ketapang Regency. The method used was quasi experimental pre and post with control and intervention groups. The population in this study were high school/equivalent adolescents in Ketapang Regency with a total sample of 80 divided into 40 control groups and 40 intervention groups. The variable used is help-seeking behavior. The intervention used is a Virtual Class involving 2 professional experts in the field of adolescent mental health. The intervention was carried out 2 times in a duration of 14 days. Before the intervention, a pretest test was conducted. The media used are cellphones, laptops or gadgets that can operate Zoom Meeting. Analysis of results using univariate, bivariate and multivariate tests with the help of the SPSS version 25.0 application. The results of the analysis showed that there were differences in behavior in respondents before and after the intervention in the intervention group. The behavior variable of the intervention group before and after the intervention has a significance value of 0.000 with the Wilcoxon test, which means that there is a difference in value after the intervention. There was an improvement in behavior. Overall, the behavior of the intervention group has increased compared to the control group which tends to stagnate. After the Spearmann correlation analysis test was carried out, the results of the behavior variable were found to be 0.008 with a correlation coefficient of 0.416. These results indicate that in the behavior variable there is a fairly good relationship. Virtual classes for high school teenagers in Ketapang improve behavior and have a fairly close relationship.
