Abstract

Pembelajaran fisika masih teacher centered mengakibatkan pembelajaran lebih menekankan pada pemindahan informasi dari guru kepada siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh  pembelajaran konstruktivisme menggunakan metode inkuiri bebas termodifikasi dan inkuiri terbimbing terhadap prestasi belajar (pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan) peserta didik ditinjau dari sikap ilmiah dan motivasi berprestasi peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen yang dilakukan pada kelas XI di SMA Batik 2 Surakarta semester gasal tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Penelitian melibatkan pembelajaran konstruktivisme dengan metode inkuiri bebas termodifikasi dan inkuiri terbimbing sebagai variabel bebas, sikap ilmiah dan motivasi berprestasi sebagai variabel moderator, serta prestasi belajar (pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan) peserta didik sebagai variabel terikat. Pengumpulan data prestasi belajar (pengetahuan) dalam bentuk tes tertulis, sedangkan data prestasi belajar (sikap dan keterampilan) dalam bentuk pengamatan. Teknik analisis data menggunakan ANAVA 3 jalan dengan rancangan faktorial 2 x 2 x 2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, (1) ada perbedaan  pengaruh  pendekatan konstruktivisme menggunakan metode inkuiri bebas termodifikasi dan metode inkuiri terbimbing  terhadap nilai pengetahuan, sikap dan keterampilan, (2) ada perbedaan  pengaruh antara sikap ilmiah tinggi dan rendah terhadap nilai pengethuan, sikap dan keterampilan, (3) ada perbedaan pengaruh antara motivasi berprestasi tinggi dan rendah terhadap nilai pengetahuan, sikap dan keterampilan, (4) tidak ada interaksi pengaruh antara pendekatan konstruktivisme menggunakan metode inkuiri bebas termodifikasi dan metode inkuiri terbimbing dengan sikap ilmiah terhadap nilai pengetahuan, sikap dan keterampilan, (5) tidak ada interaksi  pengaruh antara pembelajaran dengan pendekatan konstruktivisme menggunakan metode inkuiri bebas termodifikasi dan metode inkuiri terbimbing dengan motivasi berprestasi terhadap prestasi pengetahuan siswa, namun memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap nilai sikap dan keterampilan, (6) tidak ada interaksi pengaruh antara sikap ilmiah dengan motivasi berprestasi terhadap prestasi pengetahuan dan keterampilan namun memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap sikap siswa, dan (7) tidak ada interaksi pengaruh antara pembelajaran dengan pendekatan konstruktivisme menggunakan metode inkuiri bebas termodifikasi dan ikuiri terbimbing, sikap ilmiah, dan motivasi berprestasi terhadap prestasi aspek pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) develop a physics module with SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society)-based characteristics and fulfill the scientific literacy aspects of Dynamic Fluid Materials for Class XI High School Students that were developed; and (2) determine the validity of the SETS-based physics module (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society) on Dynamic Fluid Materials for Class XI High School Students which was developed. The research method used is R&D (Research and Development) with the module formulation model adopting the ADDIE developed by Dick & Carry. This procedure was modified to the third stage with the following steps: analysis, design, and development. The research data sources were obtained from two expert validators, two reviewers, and 71 students. Qualitative data were taken through interviews and open questionnaires. Quantitative data were taken through a closed questionnaire and analyzed by descriptive analysis. The conclusions of this research are: (1) the characteristics of the physics module that is compiled using the learning flow with the SETS approach (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society) and contains aspects of scientific literacy; and (2) the feasibility of the physics module from the assessment of expert validators, reviewers' assessments, one-on-one trials, small group trials, and field trials shows that the physics module that is compiled is categorized as suitable for use in physics learning on dynamic fluid materials.

Abstract

Misconceptions that exist in students must be addressed immediately because it will have an impact on further higher learning. This study aims to determine the profile of student misconceptions and the effect of using the Learning Cycle 5E model on reducing the level of misconceptions in Static Fluid material. In the form of descriptive qualitative research with the subject of students of class XI IPA 2 at SMAN 8 Surakarta, totaling 32 students. The treatment given is by giving an initial diagnostic test (pretest) to determine the student's misconception profile, then students are given learning using the Learning Cycle 5E model, and given a final diagnostic test (postest) to determine the decrease in the level of student misconceptions after remediation learning. Data were obtained through a three-stage misconception diagnostic test. The first stage of the diagnostic test was in the form of multiple choice questions, the second stage was in the form of reasons from the first stage questions, and the third stage was to identify students' confidence level. The data analysis technique used was descriptive statistics. The results showed that students had misconceptions on the concepts of the Main Law of Hydrostatics, Pascal's Law, Archimedes' Law, capillary symptoms and viscosity. Based on data analysis, 67.71% of students had misconceptions before remediation learning. After remediation using the Learning Cycle 5E model, the misconceptions experienced by students decreased to 31.94%. The shrinkage of the percentage of student misconceptions experienced was 33.85%. Based on the decrease in the percentage of students who experience misconceptions, it can be concluded that the Learning Cycle 5E model can reduce the level of student misconceptions in Static Fluid material.

Abstract

The objectives of this development research were to: (1) develop problem-based learning tools with the concept of assessment for learning assisted by articulate storyline 3 on temperature and heat material; (2) analyzing the product evaluation criteria for problem-based learning devices with the concept of assessment for learning assisted by articulate storyline 3 on temperature and heat material. This study uses the Research & Development (R&D) model with 3 stages, namely analysis, design, and development. The data needed are qualitative data and quantitative data. Data analysis was obtained from the assessment of two lecturers, two teachers, five colleagues, and readability by class XI students, totaling 32 students. The research school used was SMA N 5 Surakarta. Data analysis was guided by Azwar's assessment criteria. As for the knowledge assessment instrument, analysis was carried out using Anbuso and IBM SPPS Statistics. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires, tests and interviews. The conclusions obtained based on research are: (1) The development of learning tools is prepared using a problem based learning model by inserting the concept of assessment for learning, namely the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP), Student Worksheets and knowledge assessment instruments. The device is prepared by adjusting the learning media assisted by articulate storyline 3. The learning media is divided into three parts, namely temperature media and the concept of heat, expansion media, and heat transfer media. (2) The results of the data analysis that has been carried out show that the lesson plans and worksheets have very good criteria and the knowledge assessment instruments are accepted with high reliability.

Abstract

Keterampilan berpikir kreatif merupakan keterampilan krusial yang dibutuhkan oleh generasi saat ini dalam menghadapi tantangan abad ke-21. Penelitian yang berfokus pada keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh RPP pembelajaran berbasis proyek sistem pernapasan terhadap keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa. Desain penelitian pretest and posttest dengan kelompok kontrol non-equivalent. Perlakuan yang diberikan pada kelas eksperimen adalah penerapan RPP berbasis proyek sistem pernapasan, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan metode yang biasa digunakan oleh guru. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi secara signifikan dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Kesimpulannya, RPP pembelajaran berbasis proyek sistem pernapasan efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa.Creative thinking skills are the crucial skills required by nowadays generation in dealing with the 21st Century challenges. The researches focused on higher order thinking skills are still limited. This study aimed to analyze the effect of respiratory system project-based learning lesson plan on students’creative thinking skills. The research design was pretest and post-test with non-equivalent control group. The treatment given in experimental class was the implementation of respiratory system project-based learning lesson plan, while the control class was taught using common method used by the teachers.  The results of this study indicated that the students’ creative thinking skills in experimental class was significantly higher than the control class. In conclusion, respiratory system project-based learning lesson plan is effective in improving students’ creative thinking skills.

Abstract

One of the goals of learning physics is to help students develop their critical thinking skills. Preliminary studies conducted at SMAN 1 Pacitan show that the learning process is still teacher-centered with the lecture method and providing practice questions. Such a learning process causes the development of student's critical thinking skills to be less well-stimulated. Using e-modules in physics learning is expected to be a new solution to stimulate students' critical thinking skills. This research aims to determine the impact of Problem-Based learning physics electronic module integrated with STEM on students' critical thinking skills. The research method uses a quasi-experimental technique with a one-group pretest-posttest design. Data analysis used the N-gain test to determine the increase in students' critical thinking skills and the t-test to determine the effect of problem-based learning electronic module integrated with STEM on students' critical thinking skills. The sample was selected using a purposive sampling strategy. The samples involved were 34 students of class XI MIPA Senior High School Pacitan. The test was conducted to collect data on students' critical thinking skills. Research data was collected using an essay test of critical thinking skills totaling twelve valid questions with a reliability coefficient 0.70. Before the N-gain test was carried out, the normality, homogeneity, and t-test were first carried out. In the normality test, the data is normally distributed. In the homogeneity test, the data is homogeneous. Based on the paired sample t-test, it shows that there is a significant difference between pretest and posttest critical thinking skills with a sig. (2-tailed) <0.05, which indicates that the problem-based learning electronic module integrated with STEM has a positive effect on students' critical thinking skills. By acquiring an N-Gain score of 0.76 in the high category, the PBL physics electronic module integrated with STEM on mechanical wave characteristics material can improve students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study intends to investigate the profile of students’ higher-order thinking skills through the model integration of Creative Problem Solving Predict-Observe-Explain (CPSPOE). Data collection was carried out both quantitatively and qualitatively (mixed method). The mixed method sequential explanatory design consisted of two distinct phases: quantitative and qualitative. In this design, the researchers first collected and analyzed quantitative (numeric) data, then proceeded with qualitative data to help decipher the quantitative results. Using a purposive sampling technique, the research sample used two junior high schools in the city of Bengkulu to determine the experimental and control classes in each school based on the average academic scores before the study. The research instrument was a high-level thinking cognitive test in the form of 10-item test items describing the interaction of living things with their environment. The results of student scores on the test were analyzed using the MANOVA significance test and obtained a p-value 0.05, meaning that there is a significant influence on classifying, problem-solving, generating hypothesizing, and decision-making. Based on the CPSPOE model reference, which is integrated with a complete and interactive sequence of learning stages that can facilitate students to be involved in efforts to train higher-order thinking skills and can effectively activate students, being facilitated by teachers, complex social systems are considered practical and easy to implement to train high-level thinking skills. This study concludes that the sequence of learning stages of the CPSPOE model can be effective in improving classifying, problem-solving, generating hypothesizing, and decision-making skills for junior high school students’ high-level thinking skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to obtain interactive e-module products using conceptual change text strategies to reduce student misconceptions on the material colligative properties of solutions that are suitable for use. The colligative nature of solutions is a chemical material that is considered difficult because it is abstract and complex, causing students to find it difficult to understand the material. Learners who have difficulty in understanding the material's colligative properties of solutions can lead to misconceptions. To reduce misconceptions, an effort is needed, namely using a conceptual change text strategy packaged in the form of electronic learning media such as interactive e-modules. This study was prepared using research and development (R&D) research methods development model by Borg and Gall with descriptive analysis based on mode and shift misconceptions. Interactive e-module using conceptual change text strategy to reduce students' misconceptions on the material colligative properties of solutions are declared feasible based on content validity and construct, practicality and effectiveness. The validity of the content and construct obtained 4 or valid modes, practicality with a percentage of response questionnaire sheets of 95.8% or very practical and the percentage of observation sheets of student activities of 92.94% or very practical, and effectiveness in terms of the results of shifting misconceptions obtained by 87.36%. The results showed that the interactive e-module using the conceptual change text strategy to reduce students' misconceptions on the material colligative properties of the solution was declared feasible for useDOI: 10.23960/jppk.v12.i3.2023.03
