Abstract

Shrimp is a leading export commodity in the fisheries sector in Indonesia, playing a significant role in generating foreign exchange earnings, particularly through exports to the United States and Japan. Despite its importance, the volume of Indonesian frozen shrimp exports to Japan has fluctuated in recent years. This research investigates the key factors influencing these export volumes, focusing on frozen shrimp production, international shrimp prices, the USD to IDR exchange rate, and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Japan). Data were sourced from UN COMTRADE, the World Bank, Statistics Indonesia (BPS), the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), and Trade Statistics of Japan. A quantitative research approach was employed, using multiple linear regression analysis to determine the relationships among the variables. The findings revealed that frozen shrimp production, the exchange rate, and GPD of Japan have a significant impact on export volumes, while international shrimp prices do not show a statistically significant effect. Among these, the GDP of Japan emerged as the most influential factor. Based on these results, policy recommendations include the enhancement of international branding, formulation of comprehensive production planning, and the improvement of product value and quality.

Abstract

Reproductive health issues remain a significant concern among adolescents. Data from the Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS) in 2012 indicate an increase in premarital sexual behavior among adolescents, which may lead to various negative consequences such as unwanted pregnancy, abortion, sexually transmitted infections, and sexual violence. This condition highlights the importance of health education efforts to improve adolescents’ knowledge of reproductive health. This study aimed to determine the effect of health education counseling on adolescents’ knowledge of reproductive health. This study employed a quasi-experimental design using a one group pre-test and post-test approach. A total of 20 respondents were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using a reproductive health knowledge questionnaire. Health education counseling was provided after the pre-test, followed by a post-test to assess changes in knowledge levels. Data analysis was conducted using the paired sample t-test. The results showed an increase in adolescents’ knowledge levels after receiving health education counseling. Statistical analysis revealed a significant difference between knowledge levels before and after the intervention (p = 0.036). Conclusion Health education counseling has a significant effect on improving adolescents’ knowledge of reproductive health

Abstract

The high demand for organic bok choy vegetables is driven by the increasing prevalence of degenerative diseases, which are often associated with unhealthy consumption patterns. However, farmers in Cepogo District, Boyolali Regency, still face challenges in determining the optimal selling price. This study aims to estimate consumers' willingness to pay (WTP) for organic bok choy vegetables in Cepogo District, Boyolali Regency, and analyze the factors influencing consumers' WTP for purchasing organic bok choy in the same area. The research employs the Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) to estimate the WTP value for organic bok choy. Additionally, logistic regression analysis is used to evaluate the factors affecting WTP. The findings indicate that the average WTP for organic bok choy in Cepogo District, Boyolali Regency, is IDR 5,760.00 per 500 grams. Education level, awareness of organic bok choy and belief in organic bok choy are identified as factors positively influencing consumers' WTP.

Abstract

Community health problems in Indonesia are increasingly complex, including the rising burden of non-communicable diseases, communicable diseases, nutritional issues, and psychosocial problems, particularly among vulnerable populations such as the elderly. This community service aimed to implement an integrated community health promotion program through education, screening, and preventive interventions in Rejomulyo Village, Kediri. This study used a community-based participatory approach with a descriptive evaluative design. The program involved approximately 65 participants and included health education sessions, health screenings (vital signs, anthropometry, biochemical tests, and physical function assessment), and preventive interventions such as local food-based supplementary feeding and smoke-free household promotion. Data were collected through observation, screening records, and participant responses, and analyzed descriptively.The results showed that a significant proportion of participants were at risk of non-communicable diseases, including hypertension, elevated blood glucose, and abnormal nutritional status. Health education activities improved participants’ knowledge and awareness of disease prevention, clean and healthy living behaviors, and environmental health risks. Preventive interventions were well accepted, with increased community commitment to adopting healthier lifestyles, including routine health monitoring and smoke-free home practices.In conclusion, the integrated approach combining education, screening, and preventive interventions proved effective in improving community awareness, enabling early detection of health risks, and promoting sustainable health behaviors. This model has the potential to be replicated in other communities to enhance public health outcomes.
