Abstract

Age 9-10 years is a crucial stage of motor development, where physical abilities such as muscle strength, flexibility and balance significantly affect performance in sports activities, including throwing and catching skills.This study to analyze relationship between arm muscle strength, back muscle flexibility, and balance on the throwing and catching skills children aged 9–10 years at VIO Surabaya. This is quantitative research with correlational design and multiple regression analysis. The sample use 15 children (8 boys and 7 girls) who were athletes from the VIO Baseball Club Surabaya, all aged between 9-10 years. Instruments included a push-up test to measure arm muscle strength, a V-sit and reach test for back muscle flexibility, a one-leg balance test, and a throwing and catching test using a softball. The results is arm muscle strength had a significant relationship with throwing and catching skills (Pearson correlation value of r = 0.921 (p < 0.05)). In contrast, back muscle flexibility (r = 0.328) and balance (r = 0.131) did not show significant relationships. The conclution arm muscle strength is most influential factor in determining throwing and catching in children, therefore, training programs should prioritize arm strength development to support motor skill advancement in early age.

Abstract

The Palembang City government's agenda to develop Kemaro Island as a leading tourist destination has not received a positive response from the community, especially those involved in the program. This research aims to explain local government policy, especially from the perspective of Palembang city government policy in developing Kemaro Island, Palembang City as a leading tourist destination. The method used is a comprehensive and systematic qualitative review of the factual problems that occurred as well as the various efforts that have been made by various parties related to the existence of Kemaro Island. The findings obtained from the results of this research are the need for a systematic approach in making policies for the development of Kemaro Island through collaboration with various stakeholders. The importance of collaboration is emphasized and recommendations are offered to improve collaboration. This article provides lessons on how to manage the development of superior tourist destinations through understanding the problems that occur as well as aspects of collaboration between various stakeholders effectively to produce effective policies in the development of superior tourist destinations. The author suggests the need for community participation through the concept of collaboration to produce effective policies for developing superior tourist destinations.

Abstract

Pengabdian Masyarakat Berbasis Potensi (PMBP) merupakan program wajib bagi mahasiswa Universitas Insan Budi Utomo Malang yang bertujuan untuk mengaplikasikan ilmu yang telah diperoleh selama perkuliahan ke dalam kehidupan masyarakat secara nyata. Kegiatan PMBP ini dilaksanakan oleh kelompok mahasiswa di Kecamatan Gondanglegi, Kabupaten Malang, dengan fokus utama pada dua kegiatan, yaitu penyuluhan tentang bullying di SMP NU Gondanglegi dan sosialisasi rekrutmen mahasiswa baru di MA NU Gondanglegi. Penyuluhan bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada siswa tentang jenis-jenis bullying, dampak negatif yang ditimbulkan, serta cara mencegah dan menghadapinya. Sedangkan sosialisasi bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi mengenai pendidikan tinggi dan mengenalkan Universitas Insan Budi Utomo kepada siswa kelas XII. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik ceramah, diskusi, tanya jawab, serta penggunaan media pendukung seperti presentasi dan video edukatif. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman siswa terhadap isu bullying serta tumbuhnya semangat siswa dalam melanjutkan pendidikan ke jenjang perguruan tinggi. Kegiatan ini juga memberikan pengalaman langsung kepada mahasiswa dalam berinteraksi dan berkontribusi kepada masyarakat, serta mengasah kemampuan komunikasi dan kepedulian sosial mereka.

Abstract

To realize the Building Village Movement (GERDEMA) in West Malinau District, Malinau Regency, it is necessary to have the leadership of the Village Head who is sensitive, must listen to suggestions and views from the people around him, must be an example, must behave and be loyal to his promises, be loyal to his government and be able to make decisions, in accordance with the ideals and expectations of the community. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze how the Village Head Leadership in the implementation of the Building Village Movement Program (GERDEMA) in West Malinau District, Malinau Regency. Problems in the leadership of the Village Head in general have been carried out, but in reality they have not been fully carried out optimally. The method used is a qualitative method to explore and understand the meaning of individuals or groups related to social or humanitarian issues. The goal of this qualitative research is to understand certain situations, events, roles, groups or social interactions that are considered to be social problems. The results of the research show that the leadership of the Village Head in the implementation of the Building Village Movement Program in West Malinau District can be carried out well, the Village Head has good sensitivity, has an exemplary spirit that can be used as an example, has good compliance in the implementation of programs in the village and has a leadership spirit and integrity in the implementation of the Building Village Movement (GERDEMA) program.

Abstract

Self-confidence is a crucial psychological factor that supports athletic performance, especially in extreme sports like paragliding, which require high levels of mental preparedness. Paragliding athletes face challenges that test their courage, focus, and mental resilience, making confidence a key element during competitions. While many studies have examined confidence in various sports, research specifically addressing the confidence level of paragliding athletes during competition remains scarce. This study aims to describe the self-confidence level of paragliding athletes in a competitive context. A descriptive quantitative method was employed, using a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to 50 athletes who had competed in league-level events. The research instrument was based on psychological indicators reflecting internal and external confidence factors. Results showed that 90% of athletes had high confidence, 10% had moderate confidence, and none had low confidence. The mean confidence score was 76.4, with a standard deviation of 5.894, indicating an overall optimal psychological state. In conclusion, paragliding athletes demonstrated high levels of self-confidence in competition, making it a valuable psychological asset for enhancing performance. It is recommended that coaches and sports institutions provide continuous psychological support through mental training and self-efficacy development programs.

Abstract

Kabaddi is a sport that originated in India. It is the only combat sport in which an individual attacker faces a group of defenders. Kabaddi first became known to the Indonesian public in 2008. Since then, Kabaddi has grown increasingly popular and developed in Indonesia. To achieve success and high performance in Kabaddi, good physical fitness is essential. Therefore, it is important for coaches to use effective training methods to improve the performance of Kabaddi athletes. PON XX1 Aceh - North Sumatra 2024 is a prestigious national event held every four years and serves as a benchmark to assess the development and achievements of each sport in each province. At PON XX1 Aceh – North Sumatra 2024, the East Java Kabaddi team won two bronze medals. This study aims to examine and evaluate the effectiveness of the training methods used by the East Java Kabaddi team in their preparation and performance for PON XX1 Aceh – North Sumatra 2024. The research method employed was a qualitative biographical approach, with the main subject being Abraham Johns Evangelista, who won two bronze medals in the Seven For Five and National Style categories. The training program consisted of nine weekly sessions, each lasting 90–120 minutes, over a period of three months. The results showed several shortcomings in the training methods used by the East Java team. However, despite these issues, this structured and comprehensive training approach enabled the East Java Kabaddi team to secure two bronze medals. This article discusses the importance of appropriate training methods for achieving success and offers recommendations for further developing the training program to attain success in future Kabaddi competitions.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to identify the type of School-Based Management (SBM) model implemented at Junior high schools, examine how environmental factors influence the implementation process, and evaluate the impact of SBM. This research focuses on the importance of policymakers' involvement and non-academic achievements, which remain underexplored. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, document analysis, and questionnaires. The study reveals three key findings. SBM was implemented through strategic planning that was aligned with national regulations and tailored to the school’s specific needs. Transformational leadership and participatory decision-making were central to fostering a collaborative school environment. The performance of the principal, teachers, and school committee contributed to achievements in both academic and non-academic domains, such as science olympiads, arts competitions, and sports tournaments. These findings suggest that integrating structured planning, inclusive leadership, and community participation enhances the overall quality of education. The research contributes to the discourse on effective SBM practices in urban schools and recommends the broader adoption of participatory and context-responsive strategies to support improvements in education quality.

Abstract

The fulfillment of the employees' payroll is a crucial task of the firm, ensuring the wellbeing of its workforce following a complete month of employment. The wage calculation system employed by a raw material distribution company in West Java currently relies on semi-computerized methods, specifically utilizing MS Excel for processing purposes. This approach is considered less efficient and susceptible to inaccuracies in its computations. This study aims to design and implement a system that can aid the organization in reducing computation errors. The author employs a qualitative descriptive methodology in their study. The author employs the OOSE (Object Oriented System Engineering) method as the chosen approach for development, emphasizing use cases. The employee payroll application was designed and implemented using the PHP programming language with the Laravel framework. The MySQL database was utilized for data storage. The anticipated outcome of the investigation into the employee payroll application is poised to provide the organization with improved efficiency and precision in processing employee wage calculations while concurrently mitigating the potential for data loss.

Abstract

Cedera olahraga pada anak merupakan permasalahan yang dapat berdampak jangka panjang terhadap perkembangan fisik. Salah satu strategi yang efektif adalah penerapan program pemanasan terstruktur seperti FIFA 11+ Kids. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan pelatih dan orang tua mengenai pentingnya pencegahan cedera melalui edukasi terkait pemanasan yang tepat. Sosialisasi dilaksanakan melalui pendekatan edukatif disertai evaluasi pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur tingkat pemahaman pelatih dan orangtua sebelum dan sesudah sosialisasi. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan skor secara signifikan pada post-test dibandingkan dengan pre-test, yang menunjukkan efektivitas program dalam meningkatkan pemahaman peserta. Dengan demikian, edukasi berbasis FIFA 11+ Kids dapat menjadi sarana strategis dalam upaya pencegahan cedera olahraga pada anak, dan direkomendasikan untuk diimplementasikan secara berkelanjutan dalam program pelatihan olahraga usia dini.
