Abstract

Education is the process of changing the attitudes and behavior of a person or group of people in an effort to mature humans through teaching and training efforts, educational processes, methods and actions. The theory underlying education is basically divided into association theory which is inductively oriented, meaning that the building of knowledge in educational development is based on units of knowledge, attitudes and skills into more universal units. The flow in this theory is behaviorism or better known as the stimulus-response flow. The school of thought that education is directed at creating new behaviors in students. Learning is an important part that cannot be separated from the educational process. Learning is a process of changing behavior and thought patterns experienced by individuals. Cognitive learning theory emphasizes that what is most important in the learning process is the implementation of how the process occurs rather than the results achieved.

Abstract

Aggressive behavior among adolescents is one of the most common issues encountered in schools and has the potential to hinder students' social, emotional, and academic development. This phenomenon is still found among students at MTsN 6 Lima Puluh Kota, where aggressive behavior appears in both verbal and physical forms. This study aimed to describe the factors causing aggressive behavior among students at MTsN 6 Lima Puluh Kota. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Informants were selected using purposive sampling and consisted of students, guidance and counseling teachers, homeroom teachers, and the Vice Principal for Student Affairs. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data credibility was ensured through source triangulation, technique triangulation, and time triangulation. The findings revealed that students' aggressive behavior was influenced by two main categories of factors, namely internal and external factors. Internal factors consisted of beliefs, genetic or family parenting patterns, emotions, and personality. Among these, beliefs and emotional instability were identified as the most dominant factors contributing to aggressive behavior. External factors included imitation, family environment, and community environment, with the family environment emerging as the strongest external influence. Inharmonious family communication, limited parental attention, and negative social interactions were found to contribute significantly to the development of aggressive behavior. The study concludes that aggressive behavior is the result of interactions between internal and external factors. Therefore, collaboration among schools, families, and communities is essential to create a supportive environment that can prevent and reduce aggressive behavior among students.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the importance of individual counseling services in helping students overcome personal, social, and academic problems. The quality of services provided by school counselors is one of the main factors influencing students' satisfaction with counseling services. This study aimed to describe students' satisfaction with individual counseling services at SMP Negeri 1 V Koto Kampung Dalam. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed. The participants consisted of four students as key informants, along with the counseling coordinator, a school counselor, and the vice principal for student affairs as supporting informants, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data credibility was ensured through source triangulation. The findings indicate that, in general, students were satisfied with the individual counseling services they received. Their satisfaction was reflected in the counselors' reliability, responsiveness, empathy, and ability to create a safe and comfortable counseling environment. The counseling services also helped students better understand themselves, reduce emotional burdens, and make more appropriate decisions in dealing with their problems. However, the positive changes experienced by students were not always sustained over time, indicating the need for continuous follow-up and regular evaluation to improve the effectiveness of individual counseling services in schools

Abstract

This study addresses a critical gap in the literature on the intersection of destiny beliefs, marital infidelity, and Islamic theological perspectives, which remains largely unexplored in existing interdisciplinary research. Although studies on relationship beliefs, infidelity, and religiosity have grown significantly, the specific integration of psychological constructs of destiny beliefs with Islamic concepts of qadar and moral responsibility in the context of marital infidelity has not been systematically examined. To address this gap, the study employs a bibliometric analysis of Islamic psychology and related mental health literature as a proxy to map the broader intellectual landscape. Data were retrieved from the Scopus database (2023–2025) and analyzed using Biblioshiny (Bibliometrix R package), collaboration networks, and keyword co-occurrence patterns across 1,398 documents. The findings reveal that the literature is predominantly dominated by themes related to mental health, psychological well-being, religiosity, and survey-based methodologies. Importantly, the specific triadic relationship among destiny beliefs, marital infidelity, and Islamic theology appears only as a peripheral, weakly developed cluster within the broader network. This indicates that while supporting domains are expanding rapidly, the core conceptual integration remains underdeveloped and fragmented across disciplines. These results highlight an urgent need for more focused and integrative research that explicitly connects psychological theories of relationship beliefs with Islamic theological frameworks of destiny and moral accountability. Future studies should move beyond general religiosity and mental health themes to develop a coherent, interdisciplinary framework that better informs culturally and religiously grounded family counseling practices.
