Abstract

The rising prevalence of mental health issues among adolescents, particularly stress and anxiety, necessitates effective interventions within the school environment. This community service program aims to identify and reduce anxiety and stress levels among 325 students at SMK Muhammadiyah Kartasura. The methodology involved initial surveys, in-depth interviews, and coping skills-based interventions. Evaluation results demonstrated a significant improvement in students' mental health: the "normal stress" category increased from 90% to 93.3%, while the prevalence of mild to moderate anxiety was successfully reduced from 8.2% to 2.7%. These findings confirm that integrated stress management interventions in schools effectively improve adolescent psychological well-being. This program recommends incorporating stress management into the school curriculum and fostering collaborative support between parents and the community to cultivate a mentally healthy educational environment.

Abstract

Drug abuse within the Indonesian National Armed Forces and the Indonesian National Police is a serious violation that impacts not only the personal honor of members, but also the stability of state security and the image of the institution. This action must be dealt with firmly in accordance with the provisions of the law, especially Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. The formulation of the problem in this study includes: (1) How is the law enforcement against drug abuse committed by members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces based on the Decision of Dilmil III-12 Surabaya and by members of the Indonesian National Police based on the legal process at the Malang Police; and (2) What are the obstacles in the process of law enforcement against drug abuse committed by members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces and the Indonesian National Police. This study uses an empirical legal method with an empirical juridical approach. The results of the study show that law enforcement within the Indonesian National Army is still based on Law Number 35 of 2009 and the Army Chief of Staff Telegram Letter Number ST/166/2020 dated January 20, 2020, which emphasizes strict sanctions without compromise. Meanwhile, the law enforcement process within the Indonesian National Police tends to provide room for consideration of lighter sanctions. Obstacles within the Indonesian National Armed Forces include internal factors such as a lack of legal socialization and a lack of integrated handling, as well as external factors such as limited infrastructure, geographical constraints, and individual character. Obstacles within the Indonesian National Police include internal factors such as weak legal awareness, violations of the code of ethics, and workload, while external factors include a lack of community participation, pressure on investigators, and environmental influences.

Abstract

This article examines the contribution of Arabic to Islamic studies by positioning Arabic not merely as a medium of communication, but as a theological, epistemological, and methodological foundation for understanding Islam. Using a descriptive qualitative design and library research, this study analyzes primary academic literature on Arabic, Qur'anic studies, hadith studies, fiqh, and uṣūl al-fiqh. The research findings demonstrate that Arabic is indispensable for accessing the primary sources of Islam—the Qur'an and the Sunnah—because core meanings are embedded in its grammatical, morphological, and rhetorical structures. Mastery of naḥw, ṣarf, and balāghah is crucial to avoid semantic reduction and interpretive distortion, especially in distinguishing ‘ām–khāṣṣ, ḥaqīqah–majāz, and amr–nahy, as well as in appreciating the i‘jāz lughawī of the Qur’an. This study also shows that Arabic functions as an epistemic framework that shapes Islamic concepts such as ‘ilm, ‘aql, ḥikmah, and fiqh, thus influencing the standards of authority and validity of knowledge.

Abstract

Kidney failure is a growing public health problem, including among adolescents, largely influenced by unhealthy lifestyles and poor dietary habits. Early prevention through health education is essential to reduce the risk of kidney disease in the future. This community service program aimed to improve adolescents’ knowledge and awareness regarding healthy lifestyles and balanced dietary patterns for the prevention of kidney failure. The program was implemented at SMA Muhammadiyah Al Kautsar PK Kartasura and targeted senior high school students using an Active Learning approach, including group discussions, simulations, role play, interactive quizzes, and case studies. The activities began with early health screening, such as blood pressure measurement, body mass index assessment, and random blood glucose testing, followed by interactive health education sessions. Evaluation was conducted using pre-test and post-test assessments to measure changes in students’ knowledge levels. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in knowledge, with the proportion of students categorized as having good knowledge increasing from 18.82% in the pre-test to 91.76% in the post-test. In addition, students showed high enthusiasm and active participation throughout the program.

Abstract

Background: Mental health problems among university students are increasing and may lead to maladaptive coping behaviors, including self-harm. Self-harm is defined as intentional self-injury without suicidal intent, commonly used as a means of regulating emotional distress. Family support is considered a key protective factor that can enhance emotional stability and reduce the risk of self-harm behavior. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between family support and self-harming behavior in undergraduate nursing students at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta Method: This research was quantitative with a correlational method. The sample used was 114 students, using a simple random sampling method. Data were collected using a demographic questionnaire, the Family Support Scale (FSS) consisting of 20 items, and the Deliberate Self-Harm Inventory (DSHI) consisting of 16 items. Results: A negative correlation is a relationship between two variables that move in opposite directions, where an increase in one variable is followed by a decrease in the other. In this study, a negative correlation indicates that the higher the family support received by students, the lower the tendency for self-harming behavior, and vice versa. The correlation coefficient value obtained from the Spearman test, r = -0.480, indicates a negative relationship with moderate strength. Conclusion: This can be interpreted as meaning that there is a relationship between family support and self-harming behavior in undergraduate nursing students at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the typology of “listening” in the Qur’an as interpreted in Tafsir al-Mishbah by M. Quraish Shihab. Employing a qualitative library research design with a descriptive–analytical approach, this study examines Qur’anic verses discussed in Tafsir al-Mishbah as its primary data sources. Data analysis follows the Miles and Huberman model, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that Tafsir al-Mishbah identifies five typologies of listening: (1) physical listening, understood as a biological function and a sign of existence; (2) attentive listening, reflecting spiritual and intellectual awareness; (3) listening in the sense of granting or responding to supplications, which underscores God’s active responsiveness to human prayers; (4) listening with a positive response, signifying obedience, acceptance, and faith; and (5) listening with a negative response, which represents rejection and defiance of truth. These findings affirm that the Qur’anic concept of istimāʿ, as interpreted by Quraish Shihab, extends beyond physical activity and embodies deeper dimensions of consciousness, intention, and moral orientation.
