Abstract

The Flexing phenomenon in TikTok celebs is not just a physical act of showing off wealth and based on several studies, TikTok celeb flexing is a form of symbolic communication. The purpose of this study was to determine the flexing performed by TikTok celeb Adelina Margareta as symbolic communication. This research uses a qualitative method with a semiotic analysis approach of the Roland Barthes model whose focus of attention is on the idea of two-stage signification (two orders of significations), namely analyzing the signifier and signified. Based on the results of the analysis of the 2 TikTok contents of Adeline Margaret with the Roland Barthes theoretical approach, it is known that the two contents analyzed contain denotative, connotative and mythical meanings to create audience perceptions on symbols of social status, financial success, or self-image that Adeline Margaret wants to project. The denotation of the act is a direct representation of the object shown, which is wealth. The connotation refers to the social values associated with luxury and fame. The hedonistic lifestyle and showing off luxury goods is a form of representation of the lives of the wealthy. Through her visual and narrative representations, Adeline Margaret builds an idealized self-image and inspires her followers to pursue a similar lifestyle.

Abstract

This research was conducted to find out how the stages in therapeutic communication process are established between teachers and students with Down syndrome who are in SLB Karabela, Bengkulu city. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. In this study using data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that there is a practice of therapeutic communication at SLB Karabela, where this communication has four stages, namely the pre-interaction stage where this stage the teacher prepares himself to meet with students, the stage (orientation) Introduction stage where the teacher approaches students slowly, the work stage where the teacher is teaching children with Down syndrome by persuading students gently and the termination stage where the teacher sees the students’ development from beginning to end. In this study it is found that teachers in dealing to students with Down syndrome have different ways. This is because students with Down syndrome have different characters, so they require different actions.

Abstract

Violence is an act by individuals or groups that can cause victims to experience physical and non-physical pain. This study aims to analyze the representation of violence in the Korean drama The Glory committed by the cast in the Korean drama The Glory. This research uses a qualitative approach using the Roland Barthes semiotic analysis method with Sanford H. Khadis' theory of violence. Korean drama The Glory can represent 5 forms of violence according to Sanford H. Kadish's classification. In the Korean drama The Glory contains violence presented in 9 scenes contained in the scenes of the cast of this drama. Each form or type of violence represented in this drama shows a sign of denotation, connotation and myth in Roland Barthes' semiotics.

Abstract

Kepahiang Regency, Bengkulu Province has many beautiful and easily accessible tourist destinations, one of which is in Pagar Gunung Village, Kepahiang District. This village has a stunning natural tourist attraction, namely Curug Terambon with the charm of a waterfall that flows freely between piles of beautiful rocks. Developing tourism potential and increasing tourism promotion is an important priority program to be carried out in order to improve the economy of village communities. And to make all this happen, it is necessary to get support from all village communities, especially youth, by utilizing various digital platforms, namely increasing tourism promotion on social media. Therefore, Lecturers and Students of the Communication Science Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences, Dehasen Bengkulu University carried out community service activities to help the youth of Pagar Gunung Village in their efforts to introduce the village's potential to the wider community through assistance in making digital-based tourism promotional videos. Through making this video, the charm of Curug Tarambon as a potential tourist attraction for Pagar Gunung Village can be explored. This activity went well and is expected to provide benefits, namely increasing the capacity of the youth of Pagar Gunung Village, especially the skills of making videos by utilizing the cellphone media they have, where the results of video production can be used as promotional media so that they can help introduce the village's potential to the wider community.

Abstract

The issue of student discipline becomes very important for the learning process at school. If students are not disciplined with all the school rules and regulations, the learning process will be disrupted, becoming uncomfortable and disorganized, which in turn encourages students to commit violations. This research aims to analyze the role of Guidance and Counseling teachers in instilling students' discipline, as well as to describe the strategies used by Guidance and Counseling teachers in fostering students' discipline. The research method used in this study is qualitative research. There are four methods of data collection techniques, namely through observation, interviews, the distribution of questionnaires in the form of question lists, and through assessment tests that involve analysis. The results of the field research findings revealed that the role of the guidance counselor in instilling discipline among students at SMP has been implemented quite well.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools do not only have the task of teaching religious knowledge. Apart from that, Islamic boarding schools also have an important role in giving birth to the formation of students who are independent in facing all the needs and challenges of life in the future. The independence of students in Islamic boarding schools is closely related to the parenting style of parents in the family environment. Children who are raised with a certain parenting style will have implications for independence while in the Islamic boarding school environment. One indicator of student independence is the existence of life skills in students in meeting their daily needs at the Islamic boarding school. The aim of the research is to describe the implications of parenting patterns for the formation of students' independent attitudes in Islamic boarding schools. The research was conducted qualitatively through literature study. Data collection techniques with documentation and data management with data reduction and presentation. The results of the research show: (1) people's parenting patterns have implications for the independence of students. Students who are raised with a democratic parenting style tend to adapt more easily to the Islamic boarding school environment and live independently and easily build communication and interaction with other students. (2) efforts to foster the independence of students at Islamic boarding school XXX are one of the duties of Islamic boarding school administrators and room heads/block heads. (3) to foster independence in students can be done by parents not visiting their children at the Islamic boarding school too often because this will slow down the growth of an independent attitude in the child. (4) parents need to have the courage to allow their children to fulfill their needs at the Islamic boarding school.

Abstract

Keselamatan lalu lintas merupakan faktor kunci dalam keberhasilan penyelenggaraan transportasi angkutan jalan di Indonesia. Salah satu indikator keselamatan lalu lintas yaitu angka kecelakaan lalu lintas. Angka kecelakaan lalu lintas di Indonesia masih tinggi, untuk itu diperlukan upaya untuk meningkatkan keselamatan transportasi jalan. Kesadaran dan budaya keselamatan jalan anak-anak dapat ditingkatkan dengan melakukan pendidikan keselamatan berlalulintas sejak usia dini dan promosi tentang pentingnya keselamatan di jalan bagi anak-anak. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan yaitu melalui penerapan program Sadar Lalu Lintas Usia Dini (SaLUD) dan pembangunan Zona Selamat Sekolah (ZoSS). Materi SaLUD berisi tentang keselamatan lalu lintas yang dibagi menjadi lima pokok bahasan yaitu: pengenalan lalu lintas, keselamatan dalam berjalan kaki, keselamatan dalam melakukan perjalanan, keselamatan dalam bersepeda, dan keselamatan dalam bermain meliputi bermain dan mencari pertolongan pertama bila terjadi atau mengalami kecelakaan. ZoSS merupakan bagian dari kegiatan manajemen dan rekayasa lalu lintas berupa pengendalian lalu lintas dan penggunaan suatu ruas jalan di lingkungan sekolah. Zona Selamat Sekolah (ZoSS) yang dibangun di depan SDN 2 Grecol, Kalimanah adalah tipe ZoSS tunggal.

Abstract

ABSTRACK Phatic expressions are rarely discussed in communication studies and are not known to many people even though the use of phatic expressions is often used in everyday life. The objective of research is to describe the types and functions of phatic expressions used in Freedom Writer’s film. The theory used Biber (in Aziz, 2015) and Kinneavy (in Chaer, 2009) to analysis the data of research. This research used descriptive qualitative research methods with observation and documentation data collection techniques. The results of this research found 11 types of phatic expressions contained in the characters' conversations in the Freedom Writer's film, namely: 1) interjection, 2) Greetings and Farewells, 3) Discourse markers, 4) Response, 5) Hesitators, 6) The politeness markers please, 7) Apologies, 8) Casual pronunciation, 9) Attention signal, 10) Thanks, 11) Expletives. Meanwhile, the functions of phatic expressions found in the film Freedom Writer’s include 4 functions: 1) Expression functions found in phatic expression types Thanks, Response, Expletive, Discourse markers, Interjection, and Apologies, 2) Information functions in the types of Discourse markers, Casual pronunciation and Responses, 3) Exploration function in the types of Response, Discourse markers and casual pronunciation types, 4) Persuasion function in Response types, Casual pronouncement and The politeness markers please.

Abstract

Kemampuan menulis para guru di Indonesia dianggap sangat lemah. Berbagai penelitian menunjukkan bahwa banyak guru malas mengurus pangkat jika salah satu persyaratannya adalah menulis karya ilmiah. Berbagai usaha telah dilakukan oleh berbagai pihak untuk menumbuhkan minat menulis di kalangan guru namun hasilnya belum memuaskan. Pelatihan selama ini yang sering dilakukan fokus pada cara menulis karya ilmiah baik itu Penelitian Tindakan Kelas atau bahkan menulis buku. Idealnya guru sebaiknya memulai kebiasaan menulisnya dari jenis penulisan yang paling sederhana yakni penulisan artikel populer di media massa khususnya media massa daring sampai ke penulisan karya ilmiah berupa artikel jurnal maupun buku buku ilmiah. Maka perlu dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian dengan topik “Pelatihan Penulisan Artikel Ilmiah di Jurnal Nasional terakreditasi Bagi Guru SMK 11 di Kabupaten Muaro Jambi.” Tujuan pelatihan ini adalah memberikan bekal berupa motivasi, teknik serta cara menulis artikel ilmiah di Jurnal terakreditasi SINTA yang sekarang ini sangat mudah diakses secara online. Pada akhir pelatihan para pserta diharapkan akan memiliki pengetahuan cara menulis artikel di Jurnal jurnal nasional serta juga akan memiliki artikel yang dipublikasikan di Jurnal Jurnal Nasional tersebut. The writing ability of teachers in Indonesia is considered very weak. Various studies show that many teachers are lazy to apply for promotion if one of the requirements is to write scientific papers. Various efforts have been made by various parties to foster interest in writing among teachers but the results have not been satisfactory. Training has often focused on how to write scientific papers, be it Classroom Action Research or even writing books. Ideally, teachers should start their writing habits from the simplest type of writing, namely writing popular articles in mass media, especially online mass media to writing scientific papers in the form of journal articles and scientific books. So, it is necessary to carry out community service activities with the topic "Training on Writing Scientific Articles in Accredited National Journals for Teachers of SMK 11 in Muaro Jambi Regency." The purpose of this training is to provide provisions in the form of motivation, techniques, and ways to write scientific articles in SINTA accredited journals which are now very easily accessible online. At the end of the training the participants are expected to have knowledge of how to write articles in national journals and will also have articles published in the National Journal.

Abstract

Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) seharusnya menjadi salah satu kompetensi yang wajib dimiliki oleh guru. PTK pada tingkat yang lebih lanjut merupakan kegiatan rutin yang dilaksanakan oleh guru dalam rangka meningkatkan profesionalitas melalui proses pengurusan kepangkatan dan golongan. Karya Ilmiah yang berbasis pada Penelitian Tindakan Kelas menjadi syarat wajib bagi guru PNS, dimulai dari golongan III sebagai bagian dari proses pengurusan kepangkatan dan golongan. Kenyataan di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa masih banyak guru yang belum sepenuhnya menguasai PTK. Padahal, PTK adalah kewajiban bagi guru yang berkontribusi pada kenaikan pangkat, yang pada gilirannya, mendukung peningkatan profesionalitas mereka. Pelaksanaan pelatihan menulis PTK tidak hanya bermanfaat untuk memenuhi persyaratan kepangkatan/golongan, tetapi juga dapat dijadikan bekal dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan pembelajaran siswa di dalam kelas. Classroom Action Research (CAR) should be one of the competencies that teachers must have. PTK at a more advanced level is a routine activity carried out by teachers in order to improve professionalism through the process of managing rank and class. Scientific work based on Classroom Action Research is a mandatory requirement for civil servant teachers, starting from group III as part of the process of managing rank and class. The reality in the field shows that there are still many teachers who have not fully mastered PTK. In fact, PTK is an obligation for teachers that contributes to promotion, which in turn, supports their professional improvement. The implementation of training in writing PTK is not only useful for fulfilling the requirements for promotion, but can also be used as a provision in solving student learning problems in the classroom.
