Abstract

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis merupakan kompetensi penting dalam pembelajaran abad ke-21, namun berbagai studi menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan tersebut masih relatif rendah. Hal ini menunjukkan perlunya kajian terhadap faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi, khususnya kemampuan siswa dalam menghadapi kesulitan belajar. Salah satu faktor yang relevan adalah adversity quotient, yaitu kemampuan individu dalam bertahan dan menyelesaikan masalah saat menghadapi tantangan (Stoltz, 2000). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran adversity quotient dalam kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa serta mengkaji kontribusi model pembelajaran berbasis masalah. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Data diperoleh dari artikel ilmiah nasional dan internasional. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi literatur dengan kriteria seleksi tertentu, sedangkan analisis data menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif melalui tahapan identifikasi, seleksi, evaluasi, dan sintesis naratif (Sugiyono, 2021). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adversity quotient berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Siswa dengan adversity quotient tinggi lebih mampu memahami masalah, menyusun strategi, dan menyelesaikan masalah secara sistematis (Sutisna et al., 2023). Selain itu, Problem Based Learning efektif meningkatkan keterlibatan dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa (Savery, 2015). Implikasi penelitian ini menunjukkan pentingnya integrasi penguatan adversity quotient dalam pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran matematika.

Abstract

Purpose: This study responds to the persistent issue of low mathematical creative thinking among students by exploring its underlying causes and examining the effectiveness of the ADIRE (Auditory, Intellectual, Repetition with Ethnomathematics) learning model when viewed from different learning styles. Method: A mixed-methods approach with a sequential exploratory design was applied. The participants were seventh-grade students. In the qualitative phase, subjects representing visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles were selected purposively. The quantitative phase employed cluster random sampling to assign students into experimental and control groups. Data were gathered through tests, questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-tests, and N-gain analysis. Findings: The findings reveal that students’ creative thinking ability remains uneven across learning styles. Visual learners tend to demonstrate more complete achievement of creative thinking indicators, while auditory learners generally require guidance, and kinesthetic learners show limited attainment, mainly at the basic level. The implementation of the ADIRE learning model leads to a noticeable improvement in students’ performance, reflected in higher average scores, fulfillment of minimum mastery criteria, and a moderate level of gain. Significance: These results suggest that learning models which consider students’ learning styles and incorporate ethnomathematical contexts can provide more meaningful learning experiences and contribute to the development of mathematical creative thinking in a more holistic way.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keefektifan model Problem-Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan Canva interaktif bernuansa etnomatematika terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa serta mendeskripsikan kemampuan tersebut ditinjau dari Adversity Quotient (AQ). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode campuran (mixed method) dengan desain sequential explanatory. Metode kuantitatif menggunakan desain posttest-only control group yang melibatkan siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 39 Semarang, dengan kelas IX D sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan kelas IX F sebagai kelompok kontrol. Metode kualitatif menggunakan studi kasus deskriptif melalui wawancara terhadap siswa yang dipilih berdasarkan kategori AQ tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah, angket AQ, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelompok eksperimen mencapai ketuntasan belajar, memiliki rata-rata nilai yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok kontrol, serta proporsi ketuntasan yang lebih baik secara signifikan. Analisis regresi menunjukkan bahwa AQ berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dengan kontribusi sebesar 12,5% dan 87,5% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain. Hasil kualitatif menunjukkan bahwa siswa dengan AQ tinggi memiliki ketekunan, strategi, dan refleksi yang lebih baik dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran PBL berbantuan Canva interaktif bernuansa etnomatematika efektif meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan AQ berperan penting dalam proses pemecahan masalah siswa.

Abstract

Introduction to Group Theory is one of the courses in the field of algebra studies in Mathematics Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Semarang. Various learning models are implemented in lectures to overcome students' difficulties in understanding and mastering abstract lecture material. In this research, learning was carried out using the DNTK Pattern approach. The DNTK pattern approach is a learning pattern that prioritizes understanding Definitions (D) and their Negations (N), Theorems (T) and their Contrapositions (K) before students are given exercises in the Introduction to Group Theory course. The main goal of this approach is to increase students' conceptual understanding of the structure and properties of groups. This research used quantitative methods and the TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) approach to evaluate the effectiveness of the DNTK pattern approach in improving student learning outcomes. The research results showed that students taught using the DNTK pattern approach have a deeper understanding and are able to apply concepts better compared to conventional learning. This article reviewed the DNTK pattern approach theoretically and empirically, and presented the research results as a basis for further implementation in Introduction to Group Theory lectures.

Abstract

Kemampuan komunikasi matematis merupakan kompetensi penting dalam pembelajaran matematika, namun banyak siswa masih mengalami kesulitan dalam mengungkapkan ide matematis secara jelas dan sistematis. Salah satu faktor internal yang mempengaruhi kemampuan tersebut adalah efikasi diri , sementara model dan media pembelajaran juga memiliki peran yang signifikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara sistematis hubungan antara kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan self-efisiensi dalam pembelajaran Problem-Based Learning berbantuan media flipbook bernuansa etnomatematika. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode Systematic Literature Review melalui analisis terhada artikel jurnal yang relevan pada rentang tahun 2018–2025. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efikasi diri berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemauan dan kemampuan siswa dalam mengomunikasikan ide matematis. Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah mendorong diskusi aktif dan penjelasan proses pemecahan masalah sehingga meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Penggunaan media flipbook mendukung penyajian konsep matematika secara terstruktur dan visual, sedangkan etnomatematika memberikan pengalaman belajar yang kontekstual dan bermakna. Integrasi Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah , media flipbook, dan etnomatematika secara efektif mendukung pengembangan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa melalui peningkatan efikasi diri.

Abstract

Critical thinking ability is a crucial ability in mathematics, both at the elementary, secondary, or college level. However, this critical thinking ability is still low. Therefore, the researchers want to study the problem at what level the students are doing in solving mathematical critical thinking problems. The research method used a qualitative method, with the implementation analyzing students who deal with mathematical critical thinking ability problems. The study was conducted at one of the State Junior High Schools in Kroya District, Indramayu, West Java. As a result of the study, information was obtained about students who could not solve the problems presented in mathematical critical thinking ability problems, so they did not understand which strategies should be used to solve problems that could be solved.

Abstract

There has been no research exploring cognitive conflict problems in geometry from commognitive framework. Nevertheless, this framework offers strong potential for gaining new theory about cognitive processes of critical thinkers. This study addresses this gap by exploring in depth how critical thinkers solve cognitive conflict problems in geometry from commognitive framework. Commognitive involves four main components: word use, visual mediators, routines, and narratives. This study employed a qualitative approach to explore the cognitive processes in depth. The instrument used in this study consisted of cognitive conflict problems in geometry designed for junior high school students. The subjects of this study consisted of 17 students from the mathematics olympiad group at Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Surya Buana Malang, Indonesia. The results revealed two categories: Category A met all critical thinking components and commognitive indicators, whereas Category B met only some. The commognitive conflicts highlighted key moments of cognitive engagement and discourse transformation. These conflicts activated critical thinking components, including interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, explanation, and self-regulation. Based on the result, it is recommended that future research explore the development of mathematics instructional designs in cognitive conflict problems based on commognitive framework.

Abstract

The development of students’ computational thinking skills in mathematics remains a significant challenge, particularly due to the lack of adaptive instructional support that aligns with students’ cognitive stages. This study aims to analyze students’ needs for the scaffolding method in the process of mathematical computational thinking based on APOS theory. The research was conducted at Muhammadiyah Middle School Ambon using a descriptive approach with quantitative data support. The instruments used consisted of a computational thinking ability questionnaire and a scaffolding needs questionnaire. The results indicate that most students are still at the basic to intermediate levels of computational thinking and show a high need for scaffolding, especially in the action and process stages of the APOS framework. Furthermore, the findings reveal a strong relationship between students’ computational thinking ability and their need for scaffolding. These results suggest that scaffolding-based learning should be designed adaptively and systematically to support the gradual development of students’ computational thinking skills. Future research is recommended to develop and experimentally test scaffolding-based learning models that are aligned with APOS theory to enhance students’ higher-order thinking skills.

Abstract

Mathematics learning requires the support of effective instructional media and technology to enhance students’ mathematical spatial abilities. Augmented Reality (AR) has emerged as a promising technology for facilitating spatial learning, particularly in geometry-related topics. This systematic literature review aims to analyze research trends and the implementation of AR in mathematics learning with respect to mathematical spatial abilities, providing insights for future research and instructional design. The review employed the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, initially identifying 900 studies, of which 9 articles published between 2020 and 2025 met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The findings reveal four major clusters of interconnected research themes, with mathematical spatial ability showing strong associations with spatial visualization, mental rotation, and spatial orientation. The analysis indicates an increasing research trend in recent years, highlighting AR’s role not only as a visualization medium but also as an effective pedagogical tool that supports the development of mathematical spatial abilities through interactive three-dimensional representations. These results suggest that AR-based learning has significant potential to enhance spatial understanding in mathematics education.

Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in developing high-quality human resources, and mathematics serves as a strategic discipline for strengthening logical, critical, and analytical thinking skills. One of the key competencies emphasized by the NCTM is mathematical problem-solving, which remains relatively low according to the 2022 PISA results. To address this issue, the GeoGebra-assisted Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model is applied because it fosters interactive and meaningful learning experiences. This study aims to analyze research trends and the implementation of mathematical problem-solving skills through the GeoGebra-assisted PBL model. This study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) combined with bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer. A total of 200 articles were initially identified from the Google Scholar database through the Publish or Perish application (2021–2025); after applying inclusion and exclusion criteria and quality assessment procedures, 9 articles were selected for final synthesis and bibliometric mapping of keyword co-occurrence, network, and overlay visualizations. The analysis shows that the implementation of the GeoGebra-assisted PBL model consistently enhances students’ mathematical problem-solving skills. PBL cultivates critical thinking skills, while GeoGebra supports concrete visualization of mathematical concepts. The integration of both has proven effective and innovative in improving mathematics learning outcomes in the digital era.
