Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the PjBL model with folklore nuances to improve students' writing skills and self-confidence and to analyze the effect of self-confidence on students' writing skills in grade V. Currently, PISA shows that the ability of Indonesian students to solve PISA questions is still far above average value. For example, in PISA 2015, the performance of Indonesian students was still relatively low. Successively the average achievement scores of Indonesian students for reading, mathematics, and science are ranked 61st, 63rd, and 62nd out of 69 countries. The method used is a comparative method with a quantitative approach. The population of this study consisted of grade 5 elementary school students from the Ahmad Yani cluster in Adiwerna District, Tegal Regency, in the 2022/2023 school year, consisting of 10 elementary schools with a total of 375 students. The research sample consisted of 30 students from SDN Kaliwadas 01 and SDN Kaliwadas 02. The sample was selected using cluster random sampling. The two schools are located side by side. The data collection techniques used were questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The data sources used were primary and secondary. Primary data was obtained from the results of questionnaires, interviews, and observations. Secondary data was obtained through official releases or publications, including data used as literature such as books and reports. For data analysis techniques used are prerequisite analysis tests, namely normality test and homogeneity test, while hypothesis testing with t-test and simple regression test. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that there is an increase in the writing skills of fifth-grade students of SDN Kaliwadas 01 and SDN Kaliwadas 02 after using the folklore-based Project Base Learning (PjBL) method. In addition, PjBL, with the theme of folklore, also increases students' self-confidence, where folklore has high character education values, one of which is the character of self-confidence. Based on the research, it can be concluded that there is an increase in writing skills of 5th-grade students of SDN Kaliwadas 01 and SDN Kaliwadas 02 after the use of the Project Base Learning (PjBL) method based on folklore. In addition, PjBL, with the theme of folklore, also increases students' self-confidence, where folklore has high character education values, one of which is the character of self-confidence.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implications of PT Nyonya Meneer's bankruptcy on the protection of cultural heritage and the sustainability of the national herbal medicine industry. This study uses a normative juridical approach by examining the relationship between bankruptcy law, cultural law, and intellectual property law. The results of the study show that the application of bankruptcy law is still economically oriented and has not considered cultural values in the asset settlement process. As a result, the bankruptcy of PT Nyonya Meneer not only caused economic losses, but also led to the loss of traditional knowledge and cultural identity. This study found that there is a normative gap between Law Number 37 of 2004 concerning Bankruptcy and Postponement of Debt Payment Obligations (PKPU) and Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 5 of 2017 concerning Cultural Advancement, so that a culturally insightful reformulation of bankruptcy law is needed. The reformulation is directed to integrate economic, social, and cultural aspects so that bankruptcy law can function as an instrument to protect national heritage while supporting sustainable economic development.

Abstract

Numeracy literacy is a crucial skill involving the use of numbers, symbols, and basic mathematical concepts in daily life. However, PISA results indicate that Indonesian students’ numeracy literacy remains low, highlighting the need for effective learning models. This study examined the integration of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) model with Kudus local wisdom to enhance students’ numeracy literacy, taking into account their cognitive styles. Kudus local wisdom encompasses traditions such as Dandangan and local products like parijoto fruit, jenang, batik, sarongs, and embroidered kebaya. The research involved seventh-grade students at a state junior high school in Kudus and employed a quantitative quasi-experimental design with a 2×2 factorial arrangement. The Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT) was used to identify students’ cognitive styles, while a numeracy literacy test measured learning outcomes. Data were analyzed using two-way ANOVA. The results showed that: (1) the RME model significantly improved numeracy literacy (p = 0.011); (2) cognitive style did not have a significant effect on numeracy literacy (p = 0.615); and (3) there was no significant interaction between learning model and cognitive style (p = 0.272). In conclusion, the RME model effectively enhances numeracy literacy regardless of students’ cognitive styles. Its integration with local wisdom not only supports student competencies but also aligns with the Merdeka Curriculum’s vision of meaningful learning and contributes to achieving the Pancasila Student Profile.

Abstract

Research on mathematics learning is increasing and developing. However, empirical research ideas on working memory (WM) and creativity are still very limited. Educators must train students' WM skills in addition to providing reinforcement for mathematics learning. A systematic literature review follows the 10-step approach by Gough et al. The research questions consist of: What are the ideas about the definition, components and abilities of working memory? The idea of Working Memory in mathematics learning related to reasoning, problem solving and creativity? The researcher determined the publication period of the relatively latest articles in 2015 - 2024. The researcher conducted a database search on PsycInfo, MathEduc, Harzing's Publish or Perish and Scopus. Meanwhile, to determine the quality of the journal, the researcher based it on the database on ScimagoJR. After sorting, the articles analyzed were 37 found in 18 different journals. There are six definitions of WM, four related to working memory components, 10 related to working memory abilities, two related to working memory descriptions of reasoning and problem solving, three related to descriptions of creativity and three ideas of WM in mathematics learning, namely arithmetic, geometry and algebra.

Abstract

Educational supervision in the digital era faces challenges related to teacher motivation, active engagement, and feedback effectiveness in professional development processes. This research aims to identify effective gamification models, describe their implementation, and analyze their impact on motivation, engagement, and effectiveness of educational supervision in the digital era. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design conducted at SDIT Insantama Rangkasbitung. Research participants consisted of school supervisors, principals, and teachers selected through purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. Data analysis utilized thematic analysis techniques with NVivo software assistance. The findings reveal that an effective gamification model integrates a hierarchy of elements including progress bars, point systems, badges, and leaderboards with priority on feedback and follow-up aspects. Implementation was conducted through four systematic stages: Quest log in planning, Live feedback in observation, Debriefing challenge in feedback, and Action Points with a leveling system in follow-up. Significant impacts were identified in increasing teacher motivation through achievement visualization, enhancing active engagement with accelerated response and task completion, and improving supervision effectiveness measured from process dimensions, teaching quality output, to student learning outcomes. This research provides practical contributions in the form of an adaptive gamification supervision model that accommodates technological infrastructure limitations and can be replicated by schools with similar conditions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the application  of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with ethnomathematical nuances in improving mathematical problem-solving skills and examining the role of students' confidence. This study uses a mixed method with the design of the Contol Group Posttest. The population in this study is all students of class XI of SMA Negeri 6 Semarang. The research sample consisted of two classes XI of SMA Negeri 6 Semarang which were selected based on the cluster random sampling technique, with the provision of one experimental class with treatment and one control class. The instruments used included a test of problem-solving ability based on Polya's steps, a confidence questionnaire, and interview guidelines. Data were analyzed using SPSS. The results of the analysis prerequisite test showed that the data was normally distributed and had a homogeneous variance. The one-sample t-test resulted in an average experimental class score of 87.36 which is significantly higher than the KKM in schools of 75 with a significance value of 0.000. The independent sample t-test showed a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class, thus emphasizing that the application of the PBL model with ethnomathematical nuances was effective in improving mathematical problem-solving ability. Based on the results of the analysis of the percentage of questionnaire indicators and interviews with students, results were obtained at a high level of confidence, showing more optimal problem-solving achievement compared to students with medium and low levels of confidence. The results of this study show that the ethnomathematical PBL model not only has a significant impact on improving students' ability to solve mathematical problems, but also contributes to increasing students' confidence.
