Abstract

Research on mathematics learning is increasing and developing. However, empirical research ideas on working memory (WM) and creativity are still very limited. Educators must train students' WM skills in addition to providing reinforcement for mathematics learning. A systematic literature review follows the 10-step approach by Gough et al. The research questions consist of: What are the ideas about the definition, components and abilities of working memory? The idea of Working Memory in mathematics learning related to reasoning, problem solving and creativity? The researcher determined the publication period of the relatively latest articles in 2015 - 2024. The researcher conducted a database search on PsycInfo, MathEduc, Harzing's Publish or Perish and Scopus. Meanwhile, to determine the quality of the journal, the researcher based it on the database on ScimagoJR. After sorting, the articles analyzed were 37 found in 18 different journals. There are six definitions of WM, four related to working memory components, 10 related to working memory abilities, two related to working memory descriptions of reasoning and problem solving, three related to descriptions of creativity and three ideas of WM in mathematics learning, namely arithmetic, geometry and algebra.

Abstract

Mathematical literacy is one of the skills assessed in the PISA test. The results of the PISA international assessment show that Indonesian students' mathematical literacy skills are not yet optimal. An effort to evaluate suboptimal mathematical literacy is to use questions with an ethnomathematics-based PISA framework. This study aims to synthesize various studies discussing ethnomathematics-based PISA questions used to assess the mathematical literacy of secondary school students. The research method used is a Literature Review with meta-synthesis techniques, which analyzes five selected articles published in 2020–2025 from the Scopus, Google Scholar, and Semantic Scholar databases. The inclusion criteria focused on qualitative studies with junior high and high school students as subjects that discussed mathematical literacy skills through a cultural context. The results of the study show that local cultural elements such as traditional food, Sidoarjo batik, and Gambang musical instruments are effective contextual media in connecting mathematical concepts with students' real lives. The most frequently appearing indicators of mathematical literacy are communication and mathematizing, while the indicators of reasoning and argument remain a major challenge for students. PISA questions with an ethnomathematics nuance are able to strengthen students' understanding of mathematics and instill local cultural values, thereby improving mathematical literacy. Thus, the integration of local culture in mathematics learning is an effective strategy for strengthening mathematical literacy skills and instilling cultural awareness in students in accordance with the PISA framework.

Abstract

Educational responsibility cannot be done unilaterally, it requires collaboration and cooperation of three components which Ki Hajar Dewantara called the three centers of education: family, educational institutions, and society. The three are a complete unit and complement each other. The involvement and role of parents and society in overseeing children's education in the era of globalization is very urgent. This journal aims to discuss the importance of the Three Centers of Education as a solution to overcome the increasing juvenile delinquency in this era of globalization. The writing of this journal uses the library research method, or often also called library study or library research, collecting data from various literatures. The three centers of education equally play an important role in the success of education, which are basically all interrelated and cooperate with each other. The three must indirectly provide close guidance in the education process. The relationship between the three can be seen from: Parents carry out their obligations to educate children in the family, educational institutions facilitate teaching various sciences. knowledge and skills with full support from parents of students, and the community is expected to become a facilitator for students to be able to actualize their knowledge and skills

Abstract

Abstract

Mathematical literacy is important to help students solve problems in real life, but the achievement of Indonesian students is still low. The Problem Based Learning model is considered effective in improving mathematical literacy because it focuses on solving real problems and student activities. This study aims to analyze the effect of the Problem Based Learning model on improving students' mathematical literacy through a Meta-Analysis approach to five nationally accredited articles published in the 2020-2025 period. Based on the calculation results, the average pretest score was 45.85 and the posttest score was 75.58, so there was an increase after the Problem Based Learning model implementation. The average effect size in the high category, as determined by the effect size computation, was 2. 042. According to the t-test findings, before and after the Problem Based Learning approach was implemented, there was a noticeable change in the average scores of students' mathematical literacy on the pretest and posttest, specifically the calculated t value > t table = 7.530 > 1.656 This study's findings suggest that the issue is Mathematical literacy is significantly enhanced by based learning. However, several studies have shown that success is influenced by grade level and supporting media such as Geogebra and e-LKPD. Therefore, Problem-Based Learning can be a highly effective learning alternative for improving mathematical literacy. Its implementation needs to be continuously developed, taking into account learning design, technology integration, and teacher readiness to ensure optimal and sustainable results.
