Abstract

Improving the quality of education requires a management approach that integrates leadership, school culture, service quality, achievement, and stakeholder participation. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Power Five-P Program to enhance the quality of education at Senior High School 4 in Bima City. The research uses a mixed-methods approach with an embedded design, in which qualitative data serve as the primary source and quantitative data provide support. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, document analysis, and analysis of school achievement data, involving 36 informants, including the principal, vice principals, teachers, education staff, students, and representatives of parents' and school committees. The results show that the Power Five - P Program serves as an integrated school quality management model through five interrelated dimensions: Profile, Appearance, Service, Achievement, and Participation. Quantitative findings show a 100% graduation rate during the 2017–2024 period, about 85% of graduates accepted into state universities, more than 90% continue to higher education, and an increase in the number of applicants from around 350 students in 2021 to over 500 students in the 2024/2025 academic year. The school climate survey also showed a good category in terms of security (73.47%) and diversity (67.37%). Qualitative findings indicate that strong leadership, data-based management, a collaborative culture, and stakeholder involvement contribute to improving education quality. The novelty of this research lies in the development of the Power Five - P Program as a form of operationalizing Total Quality Management (TQM) principles adapted to local policy and cultural contexts. Theoretically, this research offers an integrated school-quality management model that emphasizes the synergistic relationships among organizational culture, leadership, stakeholder participation, and continuous quality improvement in the educational context.

Abstract

This study reconstructs a religion- and culture-integrated model of curriculum management at Al-Ishlahuddiny Islamic Boarding School in West Lombok, where Islamic values and reconstructed Sasak culture are managed as one educational system rather than as separate programs. The research used a qualitative intrinsic case study within a constructivist and interpretive paradigm. Data came from pesantren leaders, principals, teachers, dormitory supervisors, santri, alumni, parents, and community figures through in-depth interviews, participant observation, document analysis, and focus group discussions. Analysis followed the interactive model of open, axial, and selective coding, and trustworthiness was maintained through triangulation, member checking, peer debriefing, reflexivity, and audit trails. The findings yielded three connected constructs. The Integrated Religious-Cultural Curriculum System functions as the value foundation, the Integrated Religious-Cultural Curriculum Management Cycle operates as a collaborative and adaptive management process, and the Integrated Religious-Cultural Transformation Outcomes place independent santri as the core result that links graduate quality, community trust, and institutional sustainability. Their synthesis forms the RICIS model, which treats curriculum as a living educational ecosystem. The model implies that Islamic institutions can modernize curriculum management and strengthen santri independence without eroding religious identity or local culture.

Abstract

This study is motivated by issues in conventional learning, which remains input-based and is often considered less objective in evaluating student learning outcomes. The Outcome-Based Education (OBE) approach is viewed as a relevant alternative to replace traditional assessment models, particularly through the use of structured and measurable rubrics. This research employs a qualitative approach with a library research design and content analysis technique to examine related literature. The findings indicate that OBE enhances educational quality by emphasizing concrete learning outcomes that align with contemporary needs and promote more flexible, active, and innovative learning. This approach can be implemented across all levels of education, including primary education, with rubrics serving as objective evaluation tools. The study affirms that rubrics within the OBE framework are highly applicable to the Akidah Akhlak subject in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, as they enable more structured and fair assessment of students’ affective domains. The implication is that implementing OBE from early education opens opportunities for learning evaluation that balances both process and outcome orientation. Furthermore, the study recommends further research to explore practical implementation and the contextual assessment of student character using more applicable instruments.
