Abstract

The development of meaningful mathematics teaching materials remains a significant challenge in elementary schools, particularly in teachers’ ability to organize concepts systematically and contextually. One relevant strategy to support meaningful learning is the use of concept maps as cognitive tools. This community service program aimed to enhance elementary school teachers’ understanding and competence in Barru Regency in developing meaningful mathematics teaching materials based on concept maps through a structured workshop. The activity involved 30 teachers and was conducted through several stages: pretest, material presentation, discussion, hands-on practice in designing concept maps and teaching materials, posttest, and product evaluation. Data were collected using a comprehension test and a product assessment rubric, then analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired-sample t-test, and N-gain analysis. The results indicated a significant improvement in teachers’ understanding, with the mean score increasing from 62.4 on the pretest to 82.5 on the posttest. The paired t-test showed a significant difference (t = 11.27; p < 0.05), while the N-gain analysis revealed that 60% of teachers achieved high improvement and 40% moderate improvement. Product evaluation yielded an average score of 3.55 out of 4 (very good category), particularly in the structure of concept maps, interconnections among concepts, and alignment with elementary students’ characteristics. These findings suggest that concept map-based workshops are effective in improving teachers’ conceptual understanding and the quality of meaningful mathematics teaching materials, with potential as a sustainable professional development model.

Abstract

Self-development–based workshops are considered an effective strategy to enhance teachers’ motivation and performance at the elementary school level. This community service program aimed to improve both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation of teachers and to strengthen their professional commitment in implementing quality learning practices in Barru Regency. The identified problems included low work motivation, limited professional self-reflection, and suboptimal teacher performance in lesson planning and instructional implementation. The program employed a participatory approach consisting of needs assessment, material presentation, self-reflection sessions, group discussions, simulations, and evaluation. A total of 35 elementary school teachers from several schools in Barru Regency participated in the workshop. The results indicated an increase in teachers’ understanding of continuous self-development, improved work motivation, and positive changes in attitudes toward enhancing instructional quality. Evaluation through questionnaires and observations showed an improvement in motivation scores and teacher performance indicators after the workshop. The program contributed positively to strengthening professional awareness and fostering a more productive work culture within schools. In conclusion, self-development–based workshops are effective in improving the motivation and performance of elementary school teachers in Barru Regency. It is recommended that such programs be implemented continuously as part of local teacher professional development strategies.

Abstract

Pneumonia menyumbang angka kesakitan yang tinggi dengan lebih dari setengah juta kasus yang dilaporkan setiap tahunnya pada anak usia di bawah lima tahun di Indonesia. Efektivitas oksigenasi pada pasien anak tidak hanya ditentukan oleh metode pemberian oksigen, tetapi juga oleh posisi tubuh selama perawatan. Berbagai posisi seperti prone, semirecumbent, fowler, dan lateral terbukti dapat meningkatkan saturasi oksigen, menstabilkan hemodinamik, dan mencegah kejadian ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP). Tujuan dari tulisan ini, untuk menjelaskan Evaluasi Pemberian Terapi Oksigen dan Posisi Supine 45 Derajat terhadap Stabilitas Hemodinamik Pasien Anak dengan Community Acquired Pneumonia dan Perdarahan Saluran Cerna. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus terhadap An. A, pasien perempuan usia 4 tahun 7 bulan dengan diagnosis Community Acquired Pneumonia dan perdarahan saluran cerna. Intervensi yang dilakukan adalah pemberian oksigen 8 liter/menit melalui Simple Mask dan perubahan posisi menjadi supine dengan elevasi kepala 45°. Parameter vital signs dan saturasi oksigen dipantau setiap 30 menit. Berdasarkan hasil studi kasus yang dilakukan terhadap seorang pasien anak dengan diagnosis Community Acquired Pneumonia dan perdarahan saluran cerna, maka hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa; pemberian oksigen melalui Simple Mask dengan aliran 8 liter/menit yang dikombinasikan dengan posisi supine elevasi kepala 45° memberikan dampak positif terhadap stabilitas hemodinamik dan oksigenasi pasien selama fase awal observasi. Terjadi peningkatan tekanan darah dan MAP, penurunan frekuensi nadi dan napas, serta peningkatan saturasi oksigen secara signifikan hingga mencapai kondisi stabil selama kurang lebih 4 jam. Namun, efektivitas intervensi menurun pada fase akhir meskipun alat bantu pernapasan telah ditingkatkan, mengindikasikan bahwa intervensi lanjutan lebih invasif mungkin diperlukan pada kondisi yang memburuk. Secara keseluruhan, kombinasi terapi ini terbukti bermanfaat sebagai tindakan awal yang efektif, aman, dan dapat diterapkan di ruang IGD anak untuk pasien dengan kondisi serupa.

Abstract

Kualitas hidup merupakan persepsi seseorang terhadap posisi mereka dalam kehidupan, yang dipengaruhi oleh konteks budaya, sistem nilai, dan lingkungan tempat tinggal. Kualitas hidup mencakup kesehatan fisik dan psikologis, tingkat kemandirian, hubungan sosial, kepercayaan diri, serta interaksi dengan lingkungan sekitar. Pada pasien Diabetes Melitus, kualitas hidup dapat terpengaruh oleh kondisi penyakit kronis, pengelolaan kesehatan, serta dukungan sosial dan lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran kualitas hidup pasien Diabetes Melitus di Rumah Sakit X, Tangerang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional dengan desain cross-sectional. Sampel terdiri dari 30 responden yang dipilih menggunakan teknik total sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa kuesioner kualitas hidup dengan 12 item pertanyaan berdasarkan alat ukur WHOQOL-BREF. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif untuk menggambarkan kualitas hidup responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 30 responden, 14 orang (46,7%) memiliki kualitas hidup baik, sedangkan 16 orang (53,3%) memiliki kualitas hidup kurang baik. Karakteristik responden didominasi oleh usia di atas 48 tahun (21 responden, 70%), perempuan (19 responden, 63,3%), pendidikan menengah (18 responden, 60%), dan sebagian besar tidak bekerja (22 responden, 73,3%). Kesimpulannya, sebagian besar pasien Diabetes Melitus di Rumah Sakit X, Tangerang memiliki kualitas hidup yang kurang baik. Hasil ini menunjukkan perlunya intervensi yang lebih optimal, baik melalui manajemen kesehatan, dukungan psikologis, maupun interaksi sosial, untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup pasien.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the subtitle translation techniques from Arabic to Indonesian in short film content published on the Instagram account @arabiyahtalks. As part of the translation process, the techniques used in this study include reduction, amplification, transposition, and modulation. These techniques are applied to ensure that the message conveyed remains understandable to the Indonesian audience without sacrificing the meaning or original style of the Arabic language. The research data were obtained through the documentation of content from the Instagram account, which was then analyzed to identify various translation techniques used. The research results show that the translator successfully overcame the challenges arising from language and cultural differences, and was able to convey a message that aligns with the cultural context of the target audience. Thus, this research emphasizes the importance of using appropriate translation techniques to ensure message accuracy and smooth communication across languages and cultures

Abstract

Fostering leadership spirit from an early age is a strategic effort to develop young generations who are responsible, confident, and capable of contributing positively to their school and community. This Community Service activity aimed to enhance students’ basic leadership knowledge and skills through a Basic Leadership Training program conducted in November 2025 at SMA Negeri 10 Kabupaten Pangkep. The implementation method consisted of preparation and coordination with the school, needs analysis, training sessions delivered through interactive lectures, group discussions, leadership simulations, reflective activities, and evaluation using questionnaires and participatory observation. The participants were students involved in school organizations and class representatives. The results indicated an improvement in students’ understanding of leadership concepts, effective communication, organizational management, teamwork, and responsible decision-making. In addition, students demonstrated increased self-confidence and collaboration skills during practical sessions and simulations. Participant evaluations showed positive responses toward the contextual and applicable training materials and methods. In conclusion, the Basic Leadership Training conducted in November 2025 at SMA Negeri 10 Kabupaten Pangkep was effective in fostering students’ leadership spirit from an early stage and is recommended to be implemented continuously as part of character development and student organization strengthening programs at school

Abstract

This study aims to analyze elementary school students’ mathematical numeracy literacy skills based on real-life contexts. Numeracy literacy is a fundamental competence that enables students to understand, use, and interpret mathematical concepts in daily situations. This research employed a quantitative descriptive approach. The study was conducted at Madrasah Aliyah Swasta darud Dakwah Wal Irsyad Baru Baru Tanga, Pangkajene and Islands Regency, during August–September 2025. The research subjects were elementary school students selected purposively. Data were collected using a numeracy literacy test designed with daily life contexts, covering number operations, measurement, data interpretation, and simple problem-solving. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics, including mean scores and percentage achievement levels. The results revealed that students’ numeracy literacy skills were generally in the moderate category. Students showed adequate ability in performing basic calculations; however, difficulties were found in understanding contextual problems, selecting appropriate strategies, and interpreting mathematical results within real-life situations. These findings indicate that mathematics learning at the elementary level still tends to emphasize procedural skills rather than contextual understanding. Therefore, strengthening contextual-based mathematics instruction is essential to improve students’ numeracy literacy skills and their ability to apply mathematics meaningfully in everyday life.
