Abstract

English at the elementary school level aims to enable students to develop communication competencies and have awareness of the essence and importance of English to increase the nation's competitiveness in a global society. To achieve this goal, basic skills are needed that students must master, namely in the form of English vocabulary skills, the more vocabulary a person has, the higher their language skills. Given the importance of the role of vocabulary in language, vocabulary learning is an important concern in learning English. Learning English vocabulary is not an easy thing because often students have difficulty in acquiring new vocabulary. The research method used is a qualitative research method with data collection techniques in the form of observation and documentation. The purpose of carrying out this study is to find out the implementation of the use of flashcard media in improving the English vocabulary skills of elementary school students. The result of this study is that flashcard media is quite effective for beginners to increase vocabulary and get used to English.

Abstract

Pura Agung Besakih merupakan Pura Agung terbesar di Bali tempat persembahyangan umat Hindu sekaligus menjadi tujuan wisata. Para pemangku yang bertugas memimpin persembahyangan di pura tersebut sebagian besar berusia lebih dari 50 tahun dan termasuk dalam kelompok berisiko penyakit tidak menular (PTM). Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang PTM serta melakukan pemeriksaan tekanan darah dan kolesterol total. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan beberapa tahapan yaitu sosialisasi, penyampaian materi, pemeriksaan kesehatan dan konsultasi hasil pemeriksaan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan tentang PTM. Pemeriksaan terhadap para pemangku menunjukkan diagnosa tekanan darah normal dan tinggi, sedangkan kadar kolesterol terdiagnosa normal, di ambang batas dan tinggi. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat dilanjutkan dengan pendampingan untuk menindaklanjuti aktivitas yang dilakukan dalam mencegah kejadian PTM.

Abstract

The activity on developing the flipbook e-module for Bungo Dani English KKG teachers is a positive and useful step in educational development. Through the flipbook e-module, Bungo Dani English KKG teachers can improve their knowledge and teaching skills. It could help understand more modern and effective teaching methods. The use of technology in the form of e-module flipbooks shows adaptation to current developments and provides easier access for teachers to obtain the latest materials. This socialization activity can allow teachers to collaborate, share experiences, and exchange ideas. Flipbook e-modules can help teachers prepare lesson plans in a more structured and efficient way. It could save teachers time preparing material and optimize the teaching and learning process. The conclusion is that the socialization activity for developing flipbook e-modules for Bungo Dani English KKG teachers has great potential to improve the quality of education and teaching methods and enrich the learning experience for teachers and students.

Abstract

Implementing the Merdeka Curriculum in elementary school motivates this community service program. The implementation of this curriculum highlighted English teaching in Elementary school. Based on the initial need analysis study, it was found that the Elementary schools in Bungo Dani need training in teaching media development to support teaching English to young learners. This training involved 25 Elementary school teachers as the participants. Those participants were introduced and trained to prepare and develop the teaching media.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the implementation of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) on the company's financial performance. The implementation of IFRS is expected to improve the transparency and quality of financial reporting, which in turn can affect the economic and financial decisions made by management and stakeholders. This study uses a quantitative method by analyzing the company's financial data before and after the implementation of IFRS. The data used include annual financial reports from various industrial sectors over a certain period of time. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of IFRS has a significant effect on several financial performance indicators, such as profitability, liquidity, and leverage. These findings suggest that higher and more consistent reporting standards can help companies manage their finances more effectively and increase investor confidence. However, the impact of IFRS implementation also varies depending on the characteristics of the industry and the accounting policies adopted by each company. This study makes an important contribution to the understanding of how international reporting standards can affect the company's financial performance and provides insights for regulators, practitioners, and academics in developing financial reporting policies.

Abstract

Adolescents are individuals with an age range of 10-19 years and are in the phase of life between childhood and adulthood. Growth and development during adolescence are associated with physical, physiological, psychological, behavioral, and social changes. The transitional conditions of growth and development during adolescence cause an increase in the need for nutritional intake and other essential nutrients, making adolescents more prone to anemia. This community service activity was carried out with the aim of increasing knowledge about anemia and hemoglobin levels in the target group, as many as 100 adolescent girls at SMP 1 Ubud, Gianyar.  This activity was carried out through several stages, namely: socialization, coordination and preparation of activities, pretest, presentation of material, posttest, checking hemoglobin levels, and evaluation of activities. The results of the activity showed that there was an increase in the knowledge of adolescent girls about anemia from poor to very good knowledge. Based on the results of laboratory examinations, it was found that 14% of respondents were anemic with hemoglobin levels <12 g/dL. Counseling activities and examination of hemoglobin levels need to be carried out continuously by involving various related institutions so that decreasing incidence of anemia can be achieved.

Abstract

Moss plants (Bryophyta) are found in every habitat, and their presence in an ecosystem is controlled by environmental circumstances. The Senggani Ravine tourism area is a popular tourist attraction comprising a pine forest with extensive moss communities. This work aimed to assess the diversity of mosses (Bryophyta) in the Senggani Ravine tourism area for the first time. In June 2022, exploratory descriptive research of moss diversity was undertaken by a free walk around the Senggani Ravine tourism area from a predetermined position point (purposive sampling) using observation, documentation, literature study, and measurement of abiotic elements for data collection. Based on the results, twenty species of mosses were identified and can be divided into four classes, namely the Bryopsida, Polytrichopsida, Jungermanniopsida, and Marchantiopsida. The species identified were Barbulla indica, Fissidens purpusillus, Fissidens biformis, Fissidens biformis, Octoblepharum albidum, Rhizonium punctatum, Mnium hornum, Philonotis marchica, Fontinalis antipyretica, Hypnum cupressiform, Polytrichastrum formosum, Lejeunea flava, Lejeunea cavifolia, Bazzania prareupta, Bazzania vittata, Riccia junghuhniana, Marchantia emarginata, Marchantia polymorpha, Dumortiera hirsuta, and Lunularia cruciate. Abiotic factor measurements revealed that zone 3, which has a soil pH of 6, an air temperature of 24.1 C°, an 84% humidity level, and 200 Cd of light cm-1, is the most favorable area for moss growth. We can infer that the Senggani Ravine tourism area is still primarily undisturbed because the moss flora is still quite diverse and varied.

Abstract

The practice of reciting Surah Al-Lahab as a rain deterrent at the Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur'an (TPQ) Baitul Mahfudh, Madumulyorejo, Dukun, Gresik, is a religious tradition that blends Quranic teachings with local wisdom to address environmental challenges, particularly extreme weather. This study aims to uncover the religious meanings and beliefs of the community regarding this tradition, as well as to understand how these values influence their religious practices. A qualitative approach was employed, utilizing interviews and participatory observation to explore the community's understanding of the Surah Al-Lahab recitation ritual. The results show that this tradition is perceived as a form of prayer to avoid rain, which could disrupt the community's activities. The ritual also reflects the connection between religious and social dimensions within the local community. In conclusion, the recitation of Surah Al-Lahab serves not only as a religious practice but also as a means to strengthen social solidarity and address environmental challenges within the community.

Abstract

Konsep diri merupakan persepsi individu tentang dirinya sendiri yang berperan penting dalam menentukan sikap dan perilaku. Mahasiswa dihadapkan pada berbagai masalah akademik yang memerlukan approach coping akademik yang adaptif untuk mengatasi berbagai permasalahan yang dihadapi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan hubungan antara konsep diri dengan approach coping akademik pada mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Padang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif korelasional. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Padang dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 381 mahasiswa. Metode pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik proportionate stratified random sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan skala konsep diri yang dikembangkan oleh Hartanti (2018) dengan merujuk pada teori konsep diri dari Fitts (1971) dan skala approach coping akademik yang dikembangkan oleh Akhtar dan Helmi (2017) dengan merujuk pada teori coping akademik dari Sullivan (2010), serta untuk analisis data menggunakan product moment correlation. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat konsep diri mahasiswa berada pada kategori negatif dan tingkat approach coping akademik mahasiswa berada pada kategori sedang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara konsep diri dengan approach coping akademik dengan r=0,390 dengan p = 0,000 (p < 0,01) yang berarti H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima.

Abstract

Background: taeniasis is a zoonotic disease caused by Taenia spp. Human taeniasis caused by Taenia solium can be acquired after consumption of raw insufficiently cooked infected pork meat. Pigs are intermediate host for T.solium. Pigs acquired this infection by eating human feces that contained T.solium eggs. Pigs infected with T.solium can be transmitted to humans. Purposes: identification of T.solium in pig is important because it is indicator of T.solium transmission. Microscopic examination of T.solium eggs is considered less effective and efficient so that many other methods are developed for T.solium detection such as molecular and immunology. Method: This method used specific primer which can detect the Tso31 gene in T.solium. Tso31 gene is one of the most promising antigens to differentiate T.solium from T.saginata. Pig feces samples were taken by random sampling technique from 7 pig farms in Denpasar. Result: from the 30 samples, we found one sample that which gave a single amplification product of 234 bp. This indicates that the pig farms in Denpasar have been infected with T.solium. Conclusion: it is necessary to do meat inspection properly in the market as well as health education about the dangers and impacts of T.solium infection in the community.
