Abstract

Neon Box merupakan media promosi atau informasi yang terbuat dari bahan akrilik dan dilengkapi dengan lampu neon yang memberikan efek cahaya terang dan menarik. Minimnya ketertarikan menjadi kader Program Pemberdayaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK), khususnya yang berusia muda, menjadi landasan pentingnya menyosialisasikan kegiatan di PKK. PKK bisa menjadi pihak di garda depan dalam mengatasi berbagai persoalan yang terjadi di tengah masyarakat. Selain itu juga dapat berkontribusi mengatasi masalah gizi anak, kesehatan anak dan stunting. Dengan tujuan dapat menarik perhatian warga dan membangun citra positif PKK khususnya di wilayah Griya Shanta RT 08 RW 12, Kel. Mojolangu, Kec. Lowokwaru, Kota Malang. Neon Box menjadi sarana yang tepat untuk menyosialisasikan 10 Program PKK. Metode yang dilakukan dalam kegiatan ini adalah pembuatan Neon Box sebagai media promosi program PKK. Hasil yang telah dicapai dari kegiatan ini adalah dapat terselesaikannya instalasi papan nama program PKK di Jalan Poros Griya Shanta RT 08 RW 12, Kel. Mojolangu, Kec. Lowokwaru, Kota Malang. Kata kunci: Pengabdian pada masyarakat, Pemberdayaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga, Neon box.

Abstract

Inorganic phosphate compounds (P2O4) can cause acute poisoning if inhaled in large quantities. The aim was to remove inorganic phosphate compounds (P2O4) from laundry wastewater. This research was carried out in the Poltekkes Surabaya laboratory in January 2024. This research was pure experiment. The tools used was an MBBR reactor, with a capacity of 1 M3/day with inlet-outlet pipes, sample port, mud disposal pipe. Monitoring parameters are temperature, pH, ORP, COD, total N and P2O4. Biomass analysis of the biofilm media was carried out gravimetically. The waste water used comes from household laundry. The findings showed that the reduction in MBBR organic compounds in the system was around 63-78%, while in the denitrification process was 48-52%. The average concentration of organic substances taken at the outlet was less than 100 mg/L, the decrease in total N concentration was around 43-55%, the P2O4 concentration taken at outlet was 0.78-0.86 mg/L. The average reduction in P2O4 was 19%, while the average reduction in the denitrification process was 55%. In conclusion, the use of the MBBR system can be effective in processing organic compounds and reducing the concentration of Total N and P2O4 in wastewater. Suggestions for further research are to be able to utilize the MBBR system for a longer period of time so that we can see the saturation point of the tool in treating waste water.

Abstract

Environmental concerns regarding emissions from small motorcycles necessitate the optimization of ignition systems to improve combustion efficiency and reduce harmful exhaust gases. This study analyzes the combined effect of groundstrap configuration—specifically coil turns and material type (copper vs. aluminum)—on exhaust emissions (CO, HC, CO₂, and O₂) in a 110cc motorcycle. The experimental approach involved testing a 110cc four-stroke motorcycle with copper and aluminum groundstraps. The number of coil turns was varied (100, 150, and 200 turns), and engine speeds (1400, 2000, 4000, and 6000 rpm) were tested. Emissions were measured using a calibrated gas analyzer. Results revealed that copper groundstraps with 200 turns significantly reduced CO and HC emissions, with the most notable CO reduction. Copper groundstraps were superior in stabilizing ignition voltage, improving combustion quality compared to aluminum. In contrast, while aluminum groundstraps showed lower emissions, they were still effective at higher engine speeds. This study demonstrates that copper groundstraps with optimal coil turns effectively reduce harmful emissions and improve combustion in small motorcycles, offering a pathway to more environmentally friendly ignition systems.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the types of metaphors and metaphor translation strategies from Indonesian into Arabic in the song lyrics Cinta Sejati by Bunga Citra Lestari and its Arabic version Al-Ḥubb al-Khāliṣ, based on Newmark’s theory. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a text analysis design. The data consist of metaphorical expressions in the Indonesian lyrics as the source language and their equivalents in Arabic as the target language. Data were collected using observation and note-taking techniques, while data analysis involved classifying the types of metaphors and identifying the translation strategies applied. The findings reveal that the metaphors in Cinta Sejati fall into four categories: dead metaphors, cliché metaphors, stock metaphors, and original metaphors, with stock metaphors being the most dominant. No instances of recent metaphors were found. In translating the lyrics into Arabic, the translator employed only three of the seven metaphor translation strategies proposed by Newmark, namely reproducing the same image in the target language, replacing the image with a standard target-language image, and converting the metaphor into sense. The most frequently used strategy was reproducing the same image, particularly for metaphors that are universal and culturally acceptable in Arabic. These findings indicate that metaphor translation in song lyrics requires a balance between semantic equivalence, linguistic naturalness, and aesthetic effect. This study is expected to contribute to research on Indonesian–Arabic metaphor translation and to serve as a reference for teaching the translation of poetic texts.

Abstract

Dalam proses pembubutan, getaran dapat dan mampu memengaruhi kualitas hasil, seperti meningkatnya kekasaran permukaan dan menurunnya ketelitian dimensi benda kerja. Getaran yang berlebih juga dapat memperpendek umur pahat dan komponen mesin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh variasi kecepatan pemakanan (feed) dan kedalaman pemotongan (depth of cut) terhadap getaran mesin bubut serta mengevaluasinya berdasarkan standar ISO 10816. Variasi feed yang digunakan adalah 0,104, 0,325, 0,522, dan 0,835 mm/rev, sedangkan variasi depth of cut adalah 0, 0,5, 1, dan 1,5 mm. Data getaran diukur dalam bentuk kecepatan getaran RMS, yang kemudian dianalisis menggunakan software Minitab untuk menghasilkan ANOVA, main effect plot, dan interaction plot. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa depth of cut menjadi faktor dominan yang memengaruhi getaran, sedangkan feed memberikan pengaruh yang lebih kecil. Selain itu, hasil pengukuran getaran dibandingkan langsung dengan standar ISO 10816 sebagai acuan evaluasi kondisi getaran mesin, guna menentukan apakah mesin dalam kondisi baik atau perlu dilakukan perbaikan.

Abstract

Sawahan Village, located in Watulimo District, Trenggalek Regency, is a durian forest tourism area with great potential to be developed as a healthy tourism village. However, the community still faces challenges due to limited knowledge and skills in disaster preparedness and health crisis management. This community service program applied three simultaneous approaches: Communication, Information, and Education (CIE) related to Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) in households; assistance in tourism village governance, including administration, financial management, and tourism object development; as well as capacity building for disaster preparedness and resilience. The academic outputs of this program include activity documentation videos and leaflets with Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), a learning module on disaster-resilient tourism villages, and an article submitted to an international journal. Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) revealed that Sawahan Village has strong tourism potential in durian and clove plantations but requires improved facilities and infrastructure. The FGDs and mentoring activities successfully enhanced the competencies of village tourism managers in administration and development, increased community knowledge and skills in PHBS, and strengthened disaster preparedness and health crisis management capacities. Prior to the FGDs, only a small portion of the community understood the importance of tourism village management and healthy living behavior. After the intervention, significant improvements were observed, such as the increase in disaster knowledge from 10% to 84%. This indicates that community service programs can effectively empower rural communities to establish sustainable, healthy, and disaster-resilient tourism villages.

Abstract

Abstract. This research is motivated by the decline in adolescent character due to the influence of modern times and free social interaction, which poses a serious challenge for parents in developing their children’s Islamic character. This study aims to describe the strategies used by parents in instilling Islamic character in early adolescents, identify the values being instilled, and examine the supporting and inhibiting factors in the process. A qualitative case study method was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis followed the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that: (1) Parents employ four main strategies in shaping their children's Islamic character: role modeling, habituation, supervision, and mutual agreements; (2) The values instilled include faith, piety, honesty, responsibility, discipline, politeness, patience, forgiveness, and social care; (3) Supporting factors include a religious family and school environment, the presence of a Quran teacher at home, and good communication between parents and schools. Inhibiting factors include parents’ limited time, the negative impact of technology, and peer influence. Abstrak. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh menurunnya karakter remaja akibat perkembangan zaman dan pergaulan bebas, yang menjadi tantangan serius bagi orangtua dalam membentuk karakter Islami anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan strategi orangtua dalam menanamkan karakter Islami pada anak usia remaja awal, mengidentifikasi nilai-nilai karakter yang ditanamkan, serta mengetahui faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam proses tersebut. Peneliti menggunakan metode studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data mencakup observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Strategi orangtua dalam membentuk karakter Islami anak meliputi keteladanan, pembiasaan, pengawasan, dan kesepakatan; (2) Nilai-nilai yang ditanamkan mencakup keimanan, ketakwaan, kejujuran, tanggung jawab, kedisiplinan, sopan santun, kesabaran, pemaaf, dan kepedulian; (3) Faktor pendukung meliputi lingkungan keluarga dan sekolah yang religius, kehadiran guru ngaji, serta komunikasi orangtua dan sekolah; sedangkan faktor penghambat antara lain keterbatasan waktu orangtua, pengaruh negatif teknologi, dan lingkungan pergaulan yang kurang baik.

Abstract

This article examines the dynamics of motivation in higher education, particularly in relation to Expectancy Theory, which highlights the aspect of valence. The main focus of this research is on students' perceptions of valence, namely the extent to which students attach value or attractiveness to achieving final outcomes (academic grades) as a reward for their efforts. Through a literature review of various academic journals and educational psychology theories, this article aims to identify and analyze factors that influence students' valence and its relevance to academic performance. Using a library research and content analysis approach, this study concludes that the perception of valence toward final outcomes is influenced not only by value orientations but also by students' interpretations of the quality of learning, providing educators with deeper insights into designing evaluation systems that motivate both intrinsically and extrinsically

Abstract

Usaha mikro, kecil, dan menengah (UMKM) berperan penting dalam mendukung perekonomian daerah, terutama sektor kuliner yang membutuhkan efisiensi proses produksi. Warung Makan Watugedhe Singosari menghadapi kendala rendahnya efisiensi penghalusan bumbu karena masih menggunakan blender konvensional berkapasitas kecil. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan produktivitas mitra melalui penerapan mesin penghalus bumbu kapasitas 6 kg/proses. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi survei kebutuhan, perancangan dan pembuatan mesin, implementasi di lokasi mitra, serta pelatihan dan evaluasi hasil. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan kapasitas produksi hingga 1.100%, efisiensi waktu sebesar 65%, dan penghematan energi listrik 25%. Mitra juga mampu mengoperasikan dan merawat mesin secara mandiri. Penerapan teknologi tepat guna ini terbukti efektif meningkatkan efisiensi, produktivitas, dan kemandirian UMKM kuliner serta berpotensi direplikasi pada usaha sejenis di daerah lain.
