Abstract

Technological advances make the need for an automated system increases, one of which makes the fan can track the human automatically. In this study to develop a fan system that can track human based on the face and can distinguish the face with other obstacles around it, so that humans do not need to manually set in directing the fan to get the wind from the fan. To detect human faces used cameras from android smartphones that have been integrated with the Haar Cascade detection method available in the OpenCV library. While to do tracking then used PID controller with Zigler Nichols tuning method which integrated with DC motor. Based on the results of experiments the system can track the human face with an average error of 4.14%, while testing on face detection has a 100% success rate in the face of the frontal. While the system can track human based on the face with 95% success. The error is caused by the mechanical system of dc motor gearbox and camera hardware position that is not straight to the face object.

Abstract

Crime has increased from year to year in Indonesia with a variety of types of crimes caused by various problems such as economic, social, conflict and low legal awareness. Of the most prominent crimes in daily life are theft cases, both motor vehicle theft and theft of violence that make people feel afraid and uncomfortable in their activities. To reduce the sense of public discomfort in dealing with these cases. Portable Crime’s Detection is a portable device product that can detect thieves with an Android based. This product has two sides, namely portable devices that will be placed on objects and mobile / smartphone applications. This portable device is supported by GPS technology, technology that can track the location or existence of an object. This product is equipped with a vibration / vibration detection system so that users can be aware of interference from objects on portable devices. The internet has an important role in this product to report every activity that occurs on a portable device when needed. The device will send notifications or notifications to the user's smartphone application so users can track.

Abstract

This study aims to develop or modify the form of a test kit for short distance running 100 meters. The components that are repaired are only in the process of running from the start to the finish line. Usually a test run uses only the best time taken by the timer, then makes minor improvements according to the latest IAAF regulations. This research method uses research and development methods or research and development. The validation of the research and development instrument used content validation by several experts (expert judgment) which made one test and measurement expert and two athletic sports experts. Based on the results of the analysis of the expert test evaluation of the 100 meter short distance running instrument, it is declared valid and reliable, so that it can be used as research material for students of Penjaskesrek, Riau Islamic University.

Abstract

Its necessary a technology or advanced device that can observe atmospheric data and send it to an earth station (ground segment). Data of information on air pressure, temperature, humidity, and wind speed are ordinarily needed by the Meteorological, Climatological and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) in  weather forecasts. To be able to receive atmospheric data sent by the payload, the ground segment requires a receiver equipped with an antenna that has a big gain. The receiver is a transmission device which is equipped by an antenna. Double Biquad antenna is one of antenna with a big gain. Utilizing of the excellence specs of Double Biquad antenna, the author pick this antenna as a ground segment device that can support telemetry communication systems. The process of designing the Double Biquad antenna is carried out using an antenna calculator which is then simulated using 4nec2 software. The results of the antenna manufacture were tested and measured the antenna parameters such as: VSWR, impedance, radiation pattern and compared the RSSI value with Monopole on 3DR. The results show that the optimum frequency  is 449.056 MHz with a VSWR of 1.33 which still meets the criteria of 1 ≤ VSWR ≤ 2. The value of the RSSI range on the Double Biquad antenna, 145 - 220, is better then comparison antenna. Coupled with the reflector which also strengthens the reception of power on the antenna. So this antenna is feasible to be used as a communication antenna in the ground segment which working on 433 MHz. Dibutuhkan sebuah teknologi yang dapat melakukan pengamatan data atmosfer dan mengirimkannya ke stasiun bumi (ground segment), tentunya dibutuhkan suatu perangkat khusus yang dapat melakukan hal tersebut. Data berupa informasi tekanan udara, temperatur, kelembaban, dan kecepatan arah angin biasanya dibutuhkan oleh Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika (BMKG) dalam melakukan prakiraan cuaca. Untuk dapat menerima data atmosfer yang dikirim oleh payload, pada ground segment dibutuhkan suatu receiver yang dilengkapi dengan antena yang memiliki gain besar. Receiver tersebut adalah alat transmisi yang sering disebut dengan antena. Salah satu antena dengan gain yang besar adalah antena Double Biquad. Dengan memanfaatkan kelebihan yang dimiliki oleh antena Double Biquad penulis memilih antena ini sebagai perangkat ground segment yang dapat mendukung sistem komunikasi telemetri. Proses perancanagan antena Double Biquad dilakukan menggunakan antena calculator yang kemudian disimulasikan meggunakan software 4nec2. Hasil pembuatan antena diujicobakan dan dilakukan pengukuran beberapa parameter antena seperti: VSWR, impendansi, pola radiasi dan membandingkan nilai RSSI dengan antena pembanding (Monopole pada 3DR). Hasil pengujian menunjukkan nilai frekuensi optimum yang didapat sebesar 449,056 MHz dengan VSWR sebesar 1,33 dimana masih memenuhi kriteria 1 ≤ VSWR ≤ 2. Nilai rentang RSSI pada antena Double Biquad, 145 – 220, lebih baik jika dibandingkan dengan antena pembanding. Ditambah dengan adanya reflektor yang turut memperkuat penerimaan daya pada antena. Sehingga antena ini layak untuk digunakan sebagai antena komunikasi di ground segment pada frekuensi kerja 433 MHz.

Abstract

In 2018, Batam State Polytechnic has carried out community service in the village of Pasir Panjang, Rempang Island. Pasir Panjang village is one of the villages that is still not electrified by the local electricity company. The village also experiences difficulties in providing clean water because of its location on the coast. Therefore, the dedication of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the State Polytechnic of Batam in the form of grants and installation of water pumps for public facility with an independent power source from a 100WP solar cell. The problem arises when after carrying out the installation, the water pump cannot pump water properly. In the following year, the service was continued by making improvements to the electrical installation system. Starting from the analysis of the causes of system failure to repair. From the analysis and observation, it is known that the cause of the pump not working properly is due to a decrease in voltage because the Rs value in the solar cell system is quite large. By changing the cable size for current distribution, this problem can be resolved.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the education system in Indonesia. The education system that was originally carried out face-to-face changed to an online system (online). With an online system that seems one-way, many students are unable to absorb the material taught optimally. The purpose of this virtual lab project is to create a practicum trainer with a system of measuring electric current and voltage on a combination circuit that can be measured remotely based on the internet of things. Students can access the practicum trainer through the virtual lab android application to measure the electric current or voltage. Based on the test results of electric current measurement using the INA219 sensor, the highest percentage of error was found when measuring against a resistor of 1200 Ω with an error percentage of 2.5%. While in the voltage measurement using a 25 Volt voltage sensor, the highest percentage of error was found at the time of measurement of the resistor of 500 Ω with an error percentage of 1.43%.

Abstract

Riau Islands, which consists of thousands of islands and is located in the border area of Indonesia, has its own challenges. Based on this strategic geographical location, there are threats and opportunities to develop inter-island information systems. Wireless long-range communication is considered the most suitable for these conditions. Antennas are an important part of wireless communication. Research and fabrication of the Helix Quadrifilar antenna by utilizing the advantages and consideration of simple, lightweight and inexpensive materials, as the receiver antenna in inter-island communication systems. In this research, the design was carried out with the assist of the Antenna Magus software, measurements were using a Vector Network Analyzer instrument, and testing accomplished under the LOS conditions. The results are fabricated antenna optimum frequency shift of 433 MHz to 452.5 MHz, within 5.88% error percentage. The antenna fabrication, which is measured at a frequency of 433 MHz, obtained return loss -13.06 dB and VSWR 1.5, that meets the criteria of 1 ≤ VSWR ≤ 2. Quadrifilar Helix Antenna fabricated results can receive data from GPS sensors, temperature, humidity, air pressure, wind speed and wind direction of up to 9 kilometers. So that this antenna is suitable to be used as an antenna for inter-island UHF communication.

Abstract

Object mapping based on location tracking methods has been widely used in various types of applications.     Most tracking systems recently use existing technology and infrastructure such as satellite, cellular and wireless (RF) technology. These existing technologies are high-cost technology that needs authorized permission to be integrated to the novel technology. This research proposed a cheap point to point device technology to track a location of a transceiver using GPS in a portable infrastructure using Line of sight radio communication. The tracking system design is connected to the IoT system in order to be more accessible. The proposed system using GPS as an identifier of the transceiver coordinate location and 433MHz radio module as media communication between transmitter and receiver. The use of a 433MHz radio frequency module which is free-license adds value to the system so that it will be easily accessed. The design of portable and internet-based devices also gives a positive value in which the system does not have to depend on existing infrastructure and the system can also be reached even if it is placed in remote areas. The system test results show that the system can be well accessed up to a distance of 6.8 km.

Abstract

The increasing demand for parking spaces in various facilities, such as shopping centers, ports, and airports, poses a significant challenge for parking managers. Drivers waste time and fuel searching for available parking slots, resulting in increased air pollution and negative environmental and health impacts. Therefore, a new solution is needed to address these issues and improve parking management efficiency. A parking management system that utilizes RFID technology and allows for the RFID Tag on each car to display user data, user ID, and parking space reservations is needed to improve the efficiency and convenience of parking at various facilities. The proposed system design incorporates various components, including a Camera Sensor, Raspberry PI, ESP8266, UHF RFID reader, and RFID Tag. The RFID technology captures radio waves emitted by the RFID Tag, enabling individual identification through unique codes. Testing revealed high accuracy at close range but decreased effectiveness at longer distances. Internet speed and network latency affected system performance, with faster speeds enabling faster data transmission. The system, developed using Thunkable and Firebase, provides real-time parking space availability information and streamlines vehicle entry and exit processes through RFID technology. This system has the potential to greatly improve the parking experience at busy public facilities by facilitating efficient parking spot finding and enhancing overall convenience for drivers.

Abstract

Latar Belakang:  Penggunaan antiseptik tangan diperlukan sebagai salah satu upaya dalam menjaga kebersihan tangan. Namun antiseptik tangan yang beredar dalam pasaran terbuat dari bahan utama alkohol dengan konsentrasi ± 50% sampai 70%. Kandungan alkohol pada hand sanitizer apabila digunakan secara terus menerus dapat menimbulkan rasa terbakar, kulit kering, iritasi, dan tidak dapat digunakan pada kulit luka. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan antiseptik tangan berbahan dasar dari bahan alam yang mempunyai aktivitas daya hambat terhadap bakteri dan aman apabila diaplikasikan pada telapak tangan secara berulang. Salah satu bahan alam yang dapat bersifat sebagai antibakteri adalah daun Mangrove. Daun Mangrove mengandung senyawa bioaktif antibakteri jenis alkaloid, saponin, tanin, fenolik, flavonoid, triterpenoid dan glikosida yang dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus Tujuan: Penelitian bertujuan menjelaskan perbedaan daya hambat antara formula 1, formula 2 dan formula 3 antiseptik gel pembersih tangan daun Mangrove terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Metode: Desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu quazi experiment. Pada penelitian menggunakan sampel antiseptik gel pembersih tangan daun Mangrove formula 1, formula 2 dan formula 3 dengan sepuluh kali replikasi setiap perlakuan. Untuk uji daya hambat terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus menggunakan metode difusi Kirby Bauer. Hasil penelitian: Berdasarkan hasil pengujian laboratorium, zona hambat yang terbentuk pada formula 1 rata-rata 9,90 mm, formula 2 rata-rata 12,80 mm dan formula 3 rata-rata 16,00 mm. Hasil analisis statistik menggunakan uji Friedman didapatkan p value = 0,000 < a 0,05. Simpulan: Terdapat perbedaan daya hambat antiseptik gel pembersih tangan daun Mangrove formula 1, formula 2 dan formula 3  terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus.
