Abstract

Laceration wounds (vulnus laceratum) may cause pain and external bleeding, requiring prompt initial management to prevent excessive blood loss. One simple early bleeding control strategy is direct pressure maintained with a pressure dressing. This case report describes the use of a sterile pressure dressing in a male patient (Mr. L) with a left plantar foot wound due to glass injury, accompanied by pain and active bleeding, presenting to the emergency unit of Liwuto Primary Health Center, Baubau. Data were obtained through clinical observation, brief interview, and review of available medical records/procedure sheets. Pain was assessed using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), while bleeding outcome was operationalized using bleeding status (active/controlled), dressing status (wet/dry), and time to hemostasis. After sterile pressure dressing application and 4-hour monitoring, pain decreased from NRS 8 to 3, and active bleeding was no longer observed at the 4-hour evaluation. These findings indicate clinical improvement in this case, but interpretation is limited by single-case design (n=1) without controls, incomplete quantitative serial bleeding documentation, and potential confounding from concomitant interventions (e.g., analgesics).

Abstract

This study explores how peci (traditional cap) and sarong are represented as cultural-religious symbols that shape the collective identity of the Muslim Madurese community in Kamal District, Bangkalan, East Java. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and Stuart Hall’s theory of representation, the research was conducted through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The study employed an emic perspective by immersing the researcher in the everyday life of the Telang Dalem community. Findings reveal that peci and sarong are more than religious attire; they are symbols of identity transmitted across generations through family traditions, reinforced by the exemplary conduct of local kiai (Islamic scholars), and embedded in social-religious practices. These symbols serve as expressions of lived piety and loyalty to the moral authority of kiai, while also negotiating between inherited tradition and modern influences. The study concludes that such cultural symbols play a strategic role in preserving local religious identity. Theoretically, it contributes to the anthropology of Islam and identity studies; practically, it offers a model of contextualized religiosity that remains resilient amid social transformation.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to describe the elements of sharia compliance contained in sukuk, based on the fatwas of the National Sharia Council (DSN-MUI) and several regulations issued by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in Indonesia. Design/Methodology/Approach: This study uses a qualitative approach with documentary and secondary data, including fatwas and regulations required to explore the sharia compliance of sukuk. This study highlights and identifies the elements of sharia compliance using a hierarchy map. Findings: Sukuk in Indonesia fulfills sharia compliance through: (1) absolute prohibition of riba, gharar, maysir, tadlis, dharar, risywah, zhulm, and haram activities; (2) halal underlying assets (tangible assets, asset benefits, services, certain projects, or certain investment activities) with a minimum of 51 percent tangible assets for traded sukuk; (3) transparent returns in the form of profit sharing, margins, or ujrah in accordance with sharia contracts (mudharabah, musyarakah, ijarah, wakalah, murabahah, salam, istishna'); (4) implementation of maqasid sharia through the principle of "dar' al-mafasid muqaddam 'ala jalb al-masalih" and support for sustainable development (sustainability sukuk). All fatwas and POJK consistently emphasize that sukuk must represent ownership of real assets, not merely interest-bearing debt. Practical Implications: Existing regulations have established a strong sharia compliance framework for sovereign sukuk (SBSN) and corporate sukuk, including sustainable sukuk (green/sustainability sukuk). However, ongoing supervision by the Sharia Supervisory Board and the Sharia Expert Team, as well as transparent reporting on the use of funds, remain essential to maintaining sharia integrity throughout the sukuk lifecycle. Originality/Value: This study provides a hierarchical mapping of the elements of sharia compliance in sukuk in Indonesia by integrating relevant DSN-MUI fatwas and the development of OJK regulations, serving as a reference for further research and practice in Islamic finance.

Abstract

Abstract

Flexible dual-fuel technology is becoming increasingly important in the marine market, where alternative fuels are receiving more attention due to increasing concerns over exhaust pollutant emissions generated by internal combustion engines, fluctuating fuel costs, crude oil depletion, and classification issuing specific rules or guidelines for propulsion systems applied to LNG carriers. Various solutions have been proposed, including the use of alternative fuels. LNG, as a fuel, has been proven and is a viable solution to replace fuel oil. Through this propulsion system technology, it can be more flexible and efficient in accommodating various shipping routes and operations. The study used Rhinoceros, Maxsurf Modeller, and Numeca Fine Marine to integrate the track plan. Calculations of speed and break BHP, and validation of speed-power predictions with HydroComp PropExpert for propeller-engine matching confirmed the selection of dual-fuel engines. Based on the gearbox configuration and LNG load capacity, a dual-fuel ME propulsion system is selected. For large loads, use high pressure, and for small loads, use low pressure with the advantages of better energy efficiency, lower initial cost, slim dimensions, and Tier III NOx standards.

Abstract

This study examines the pelangkahan tradition in the Malay community of Palembang using ethnographic and genealogical approaches, focusing on its cultural meanings and the dynamics of social change that influence it. This qualitative research uses participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Data are analyzed interpretively to understand the practices and meanings of pelangkahan from the perspectives of cultural actors, as well as to trace its origins and shifts in meaning over time. The findings indicate that pelangkahan functions to maintain family harmony, reinforce age hierarchy, and reproduce values of propriety and respect. However, modernization, education, and urbanization have contributed to a shift in pelangkahan from a binding customary obligation to a more flexible and symbolic practice. This study concludes that pelangkahan is a dynamic and adaptive tradition continuously negotiated within the interplay of custom, religion, and contemporary social realities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the meaning of the hadith of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) concerning four factors considered in choosing a spouse: wealth, lineage, beauty, and religion. This research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method and the ma' ani al- ḥadīth analysis to examine both the textual and contextual meanings of the hadith. The findings indicate that the mention of these four factors in the hadith is descriptive of the social realities of society rather than a normative sequence that must be followed. The Prophet Muhammad explicitly directed Muslims to prioritize religious commitment as the primary criterion in selecting a life partner. The study demonstrates that religion and moral character serve as the fundamental foundation for building a harmonious and sustainable household. Academically, this research contributes to strengthening the contextual understanding of hadith and highlights its relevance in addressing the growing tendencies of materialism in contemporary marriage culture.
